A few years ago, this dentist was sold. The new dentist, Pan, is holding onto the Wellborn name and review to attract customers but doesn't even remotely have the same care and quality as Dr. Wellborn did. She pressures you to unnecessary procedures and is engaged in borderline insurance fraud because her wealth after moving to the US is not piling up as fast as she would like. Example: She scheduled me to have seven fillings for the seven cavities that I had. I've never had cavities. I switch to a new dentist and surprise, zero cavities. It is common for you to just sit in the chair for long periods of time waiting for her to come by and try to sell you care that isn't necessary. When you talk to her, you swear that you are talking to a used car salesman. Staff is still awesome, but everything else is horrible! read more

We had started with a dentist after we moved back to the area. We decided to get a second opinion on some of the recommendations she made of work needed for my husband. I did some research on reviews and Dr. Wellborn comes up over and over with great ones. So, we went in for that second opinion. He gave us a lot of information and reasons for his opinion. The staff were welcoming and genuine. Many of his reviews mention children and how they are not afraid of the dentist after coming to him, whereas many were before. That spells compassion and understanding in my book, in addition to being a great dentist! We went home, discussed it, and my husband (who is an invalid in a wheelchair) said he felt so much more comfortable there so, we decided to switch to Dr. Wellborn. It was a good decision! read more

Dr. Wellborn and his staff are amazing with kids! I have a spunky 4 year old who is starting to have little bouts of anxiety which means at any given minute she's either wiggling, crying, hesitant, wiggling, chatty, curious, did I say wiggling? Dr. Wellborn and his staff are so patient and funny. Dr. Wellborn's easy going and playful nature definitely puts her at ease and she LOVES going to the dentist now! I was a former employee of Dr. Wellborn, so my review may come off a bit bias. At the same time, I've experienced the inner workings of Dr. Wellborn's dental practice - so, take that for what its worth. I have worked in the dental field for over a decade, and worked with many dentists in that time. Dr. Aaron Wellborn is among the most competent, jovial, kind hearted dentists I have ever worked for. Dr. Wellborn is the epitome of a caring dentist. While many patients feel dentists often put their own financial motivations first, Dr. Wellborn presents treatment plans that always put the patient's well-being first. I've never seen any of Dr. Wellborn's patients feel pressured, obligated, or rushed to complete any treatment. Rather, Dr. Wellborn's light hearted nature and warm personality can make anyone feel at ease. Not only does Dr. Wellborn present fair and honest treatment plans, his work is excellent. At one point, I was working full-time for a dental clinic in Seattle and Dr. Wellborn's Issaquah office part-time. Dr Wellborn is a goof ball, but an AMAZING dentist. I've been coming to him for awhile now and he's very professional; affordable; and treats you great. He remembers most of your conversations from years past and enjoys to TALK. He'll talk to you a lot! His office is always very clean and his staff friendly. The only issue I've ever come across is he has different front desk people all the time. I don't know if they quit or he fires them, but they're always rotating. Dr Aaron Wellborn is the best dentist I have ever had and I will never, never switch! I have had multiple dentists in Issaquah, Bellevue and Mercer Island and he puts all of them to shame. As the previous reviewer said, you really feel like you are going to hang out with your friend every time you go for a visit. I truly do look forward to each appointment. He tells the funniest stories and I always leave his office in a great mood. Plus, he is very honest with you when it comes to fillings or other procedures, unlike other dentists who jump on an opportunity to make more money and look for excuses to drill into your mouth. A recent example was when he looked at my x-rays and saw one small spot on my tooth that appeared to be the beginnings of a cavity. We talked about it and he said that we could do a filling today, but that it wasn't absolutely necessary since there was a chance that the little spot would not develop into anything to worry about. We decided to leave it for now and check on it during my next visit. I appreciate his honesty - hard to find these days! Going to the dentist shouldn't be fun .. should it? Dr. Wellborn makes it enjoyable, remembers your family, and is GREAT with kids. My husband, 4 year old son, and I all see him. My little guy even looks forward to going to the dentist. I never thought that would happen. It's probably because Dr. Wellborn likes to talk to you, get to know, share funny stories, and all the while doing a good job taking care of your teeth. They make the insurance process easy for you, and scheduling is easier than other places because they are willing to take people early in the morning / before work. Highly recommend him! read more

Best dentist ever!! I've had my fair share of crummy dentist and poor fillings, leading to a pretty significant fear of the dentist over time. After dealing with a really bad tooth my whole pregnancy Dr. Wellborn was able to squeeze me in last minute to get my tooth assessed. He could see how much pain this was causing me and immediately started repairing my tooth. He was so kind and non-judgmental of the fact that it had been years since I'd had any dental work done and made an effort to keep me as relaxed as possible. Dr. Wellborn is so casual and has such a great sense of humor about everything. I never fear walking into his office and love all the kind people that welcome you in. Everyone is always willing to help me out with my baby in the office and never has said anything negative about having him with me at all my appointments. Since coming here for my emergency appointment I have become a regular patient and gotten all my family members in for cleanings with him as well. Seriously an amazing dentist! He was able to take my three kids (ages 2-6) and help them love the dentist. He spends the time needed to make the kids comfortable: he even "polished" my daughters nails with the machine for 5 minutes to convince her it was safe! They have been begging to go back ever since (to the DENTIST!!!) He genuinely cares about his patience and spent an extra 10 minutes after the appointment just playing with the kids and telling fun stories. read more

Dr Wellborn impressed me big time. I had a root canal gone bad and had lost my insurance. I was referred to Aaron. I called and explained that I had no insurance and may not be able to pay much. His response "was your health is the important thing lets get that tooth fixed and we will figure out the money later". I went in he and his staff were super friendly. I got my tooth fixed, and on the way out he asked if I could afford ____. "I will not disclose the number because it was ridiculously low". I said yes and on my way I went. The decor literally makes me so happy when I walk in. The front desk manager Nicole is the best. She is so funny and honestly will work her best to do everything with your insurance. I love Dr.Wellborn! In the past I've had some dentists handle my jaw and mouth really roughly. But he always makes sure I'm comfortable and gives me time if I need a moment. I've never had a dental office that hit all marks on personality, proper billing, knowledge, etc. So pleased with Dr. Wellborn and crew that I travel the 20 miles while navigating traffic jams. I actually look forward to and enjoy my visit...weird, I know. They communicate reminders early and often, provide WiFi and water in wait room, rarely ever behind on appt times, Gus is on staff for people who need a sweet pup to calm them down or simply make them smile, Dr. Wellborn LOVES his career and shares his joy. My hygienist is usually Angie who is thorough, very personable, and knows how to manage the cadence of a chat while she works on your teeth and interacts. First off, I would like to say that I am sad that I need to write this review. I switched to Dr. Wellborn's about 2 years ago. I loved this office. Everyone was welcoming and great to deal with. In September I went back to get some rework done due to food getting trapped in between teeth after Dr. Wellborn filled a cavity. I asked multiple times if there would be a charge for the work to be redone. I was told no, there would be no charge to me. A month later I received a bill for the work. I called in and the receptionist explained that it was an accident and there should not have been a bill. Now, months later I received another bill. Called again, and was told that there was no record of the previous call and that I owed for the work. Nothing could be done because of how old the bill was. Very disappointing to say the least. How can I be billed for an issue with a filling that they did? read more

I see good reviews but I was referred to this office. I contacted them twice via email and phone but no return contact. I don't understand. This does not sound like commonsense or how someone runs a business. If the dentist is good and the staff is inept or doesn't care, then what can you do? Same as any other business? We love Dr Welborn and his staff so much that we drive 35 minutes just for cleanings. His office even has hypallergenic therapy dog now. He has a great variety of video including comedy to watch, extremely family friendly. It is always a joy to visit with Dr Welborn and he is exceptionally gentle and thorough. I had my wisdom teeth pulled while awake in his office and he was so gently I didnt even have the a slightest amount of bruising and the recovery was better than expected. He even used clove to help numb me after which is something I usually have to buy and do my self so he is great about holistic pain managment as well. read more
