Okay, I admit it, I'm hard on my teeth. I eat ice. I grind my teeth when sleeping. I bite down on tape to tear it. I chew my nails. And I have on occasions used my front teeth to stripe the insulation off Romex. Thank God, Dr. Sherman, Dr. Noori, and the wonderful staff at 'The Issaquah Dentist' are always at hand clean my teeth and on occasions attend to my tooth emergencies. I'm the kind of guy that gets scolded a lot, but never at the dentist's office. My wife and I have been coming to the Issaquah Dentist since we moved here from California in late 2019. I always appreciate the honest diagnosis by Dr. Ron and their offices flexibility and diligence on working with your insurance company. My wife had extensive work done on all her teeth since most of them were badly managed in her younger years as she lived in Europe and the managed dental care did fillings over the fillings and it had become very painful for her. Dr. Ron's office worked out a treatment plan while working with our insurance company to get the maximum benefit. The treatment took over a couple of years, but the results were great. I have also had a crown replacement, and an implant put in and the entire experience has been top notch. I would highly recommend Dr. Ron to anyone. read more

I would not recommend getting any treatment like getting a cap or even simple procedure done here. I used to be a regular, their general cleaning, dental hygenist were fine but it went south fast as soon as I was recommended to get a crowning done here. First Dr. Ron barely came to check up when capping was being performed. They dug deep into my molar and affected my nerve at the root. Please note there was nothing wrong with my teeth except the fact that the front of the teeth was slightly broken however I could bite and check any hard food with the teeth. After anesthesia wore off I was in pain for over 2 months taking regular aspirin. I went to the clinic for over an year to get it corrected but they couldn't just do it and then recommended I go and perform a root canal at some other clinic. I would say that the Doctor Sherman is in-competent and just stay away even if you plan to do even a minor surgery. read more

I'm the 1st one to say I truly DISLIKE dentist offices , so when I started to have some sensitivity in my teeth I had the worst anxiety knowing I needed to make an appointment . I hadn't been to the dentist in over 5 years ( I know that's horrible) so I expected to walk in there and be told I needed a ton of dental work because that's what I've been told before (and probably was taken advantage of ) I was greeted and taken back to the room where I would meet the nice lady that did the X-rays sorry I don't remember her name . Chi was my hygienist and she was AWESOME! She was so nice and explained what she was doing and just did her best to make me feel ok about the whole situation. To my surprise , my teeth were not as bad as I thought they would be . WARNING. Fillings are not done by dentist, they are done by dental restorative tech. If you are okay with that, proceed. If you expect the fillings to be filled by the dentist, stop. I was a new patient; so I was told I had to come in for x-rays and consult before any work could be completed. This is normal, so I agreed. During the long and through consult with the dentist, he said he did very good dental work. He talked about the paintings on the wall. He did not disclose to me the fillings would be done by someone other than him, someone who wasn't a dentist. In fact, the dentist kept saying "I do good [dental] work." I liked the dentist, he seemed competent. Therefore, I made an appointment for the filling for the following week. When I arrived for the appointment, It was a tremendously unpleasant shock to be told a non-dentist did "all the fillings." I left. This kind of information (a non-dentist will do the fillings, not the actual dentist) needs to be disclosed before new patients spend money on x-rays and consultation. It definitely needs to be reiterated during the dentist consultation, and again at the time of the appointment. It should not be sprung on the patient as they are sitting down in the chair for work. Not sure if non-disclosure that non-dentist would do the fillings before appointment is made is a violation of actual law, but it is definitely a moral obligation failure. I understand that the dental tech has certification. However, certification or not, dental offices SHOULD disclose to the patient that a non-dentist will be working on them, and that disclosure should NOT occur when they are sitting down in the chair. The patient has the right to have the work completed by a dentist, dental offices should not withhold the information. BE WARNED as they are choosing to not disclose during dentist consultation or when making appointment. Ask who will be performing the filling work and if they are a dentist. I choose to go to a different dentist office, and have the filling work completed by a dentist. It isn't the dental tech, it's the fact of non-disclosure. I chose to go somewhere that was transparent in their dealings. I think this dentist would have been excellent, but the problem is, he wasn't the one doing the work. ESPECIAL WARNING to those moving to Washington who have always had dentists perform dental work, and assume the appointment being made is with the dentist. WA has many of these dental techs, ask if the dentist or a tech does the fillings before making an appointment with this office or any WA dental office. I have been noticed first impression dental has 5 stars within the region from Google and that was the reason I scheduled my first dental visit with them after moving here.  I feel like I have to write my review for this place and share my worst life experience. Hopefully this will help some people before they decide to do major dental operations with first impression dental. Based on first impression's Yelp review, there were some low rating comments mentioned the same scenario.  In short, I had a tooth pain for just one time and decided to see a dentist to make sure. Dr. Sherman asked me to do a crown even if I didn't have pain at that moment. After the crown was installed, I started to have tooth pain immediately and the pain lasted for 6 months. I didn't have a none-pain bite for half year! And I have visited this place more than 5 times to remedy the issue. But every time assistants (3-4 times) or Dr. Sherman (2 times) gave me a different root cause of the pain and adjusted the crown height then sent me home to monitor for 2-3 weeks. Until the last visit, Dr. Sherman referred me a specialist to do the root canal consultation. So basically a tooth without pain turned out to be a tooth needs root canal. And patient needs to pay both costly operations and suffer 6 months of pain. I asked Dr. Sherman why and he said this is normal for them. 15-20% of the tooth crowns they do will need a root canal. Since they don't do root canal, they referred me to a specialist. I am not sure 15-20% of the tooth crown they did needs immediate root canal or he meant sooner or later, they need. But I Googled about this rate, and it says 90% of the crown shouldn't need further treatment for the next 5 years. I later asked my endodontist his root canal successful rate, he said around 95%.  So question here is why the crown successful rate is lower than average at first impression dental? Below are the detail experience I had might answer this question.  During the first and second visits to install the crown, Dr. Sherman only presented about 20 minutes out of 90 minutes procedure. Most of the time, the work was done by his assistant alone including some small part of drilling and bit adjustment. Dr. Sherman did the key steps and leave me alone with his assistants. I really don't understand during the first visit drilling was done by Dr. Sherman already, why his assistant needs to drill the tooth again without Dr. Sherman's presence. And the second visit of crown installation and bit adjustment was also fully done by his assistant alone. His assistant even said the crown looks high before installing it. But knowing this known common issue of a crown, why Dr. Sherman wasn't there doing the proper bit check and adjustment from the beginning? My first crown was done by my previous dentist. She was there whole time and did the entire process. My wife recently did one crown in Seattle and she also said the dentist did everything and was there the whole time to make sure the final biting is good. But first impression assistants will do anesthesia, drilling, adjustment, and polishing without Dr. Sherman. Great experience with First Impressions, Dr. Ron and his staff. Went in for "painless" prep on a crown replacement and other than a "pinch" there was absolutely no pain as promised. Just wanted to give an update as I've now been coming to Dr. Sherman's office for 4 years (whoa, time flies) and have brought all 3 of my kids along for the ride. I can honestly say that Dr. Sherman's expertise and care, along with the kindness and professionalism of his whole staff, has stayed consistent this entire time! Whether it's trying to get me the best prices on necessary treatments, helping me reschedule my whole family at the same time, being non-judgmental when we haven't been flossing enough (or at all), or really anything, I have never been to a better dentist. They've actually helped turn my dental health around so I'm much less fearful of going to the dentist. The cleanings don't hurt anymore which is totally new for me. I'm skeptical of all the positive reviews for Dr. Sherman's dentistry practice. My husband and I were patients of his for several years when we first moved to Issaquah, and for awhile it seemed great. Very clean office, nice staff, etc. But quickly we came to notice that Dr. Sherman would be on vacation or out of office a lot, leaving most of the work to the assistants. The assistants were great, but we wanted a relationship with our dentist as well. Heartbreaking doesn't even begin to describe the issues my family has had with Dr. Sherman's office in the past couple of years. Enough that they have all moved on now... with me being the straggler until recently. Dr. Sherman used to refer most of the root canals to a specialist - but the last couple of root canal and wisdom tooth extractions in my circle of friends and family --repeatedly I've heard Dr Sherman said he thought were more minor and could be done in-house. Wrong! They did not go well at all. Two root canal failures (one of which resulted in the end of the drill breaking off and being permanently embedded in the root,) and two major teeth extraction failures that ended up with dry sockets and infections. I started seeing Dr Sherman a few years ago as it was close to work. He is well known in Issaquah for being the "Microsoft and Costco Corporate" dentist. He was so kind and personable. The new office was gorgeous and they had an awesome referral program. I loved the personal touch of all the bird feeders outside the office windows. Very pretty and very relaxing. Dr Sherman and his staff seemed to really care about the patients and the small details that make the experience just that much more comfortable. Then the office expanded. They added new doctors, new staff and a whole extra wing on the back. Awesome - good for Dr. Sherman that business is doing so well! But it comes at a price evidently. Our last few interactions and appointments have just not been the same. Dr. Sherman seems very stressed and always in a hurry. The last couple of visits were just more stressful than ever and mistakes were made. With all this said - we had good experiences with just the basic teeth cleanings an few cavity fillings. But when it came to the more detailed stuff - the quality just doesn't measure up with their image. I felt like I was making appointments with the hygienists more than to see the dentist. Don't get me wrong - the hygienists and dental assistants are wonderful but it just didn't sit right with us and I don't like feeling rushed through like cattle. read more

Not trying to sell me on every little thing, keeping me well informed, and some of the most PLEASANT individuals I've ever worked with...and they're doing DENTAL WORK! I hated getting my teeth cleaned but I am legitimately excited to go back. Also I don't know what sort of new wizardry they've got in their toolkit there but much less time scraping away and carving my gums out and far cleaner teeth than I've had in past cleanings. Dr. Sherman saved my grandmother thousands in a jaw complication that he helped fix. This guy literally gave her thin ins and outs of where profits are made in dentistry and helped her get to a more reliable doctor for her jaw rehabilitation. When you walk into this office the first thing you see is a beautiful sign that reads...No Lectures, No Guilt. Love this. The office is upscale and posh. Saltwater fish tanks, coffee bar, high def televisions with CNN, Leather couches and creature comforts. The back office is technically advanced, clean and private. The hygienists are experienced and thorough and have been there for years. It's comforting to know I will be seeing the same person every time I go in. The assistants have advanced training in dentistry that offers more services then most other offices can supply. Dr Sherman makes sure all his staff are up to date on advances in the industry and I know I'm receiving the best care possible. Thorough, personable, professional, Joyce takes her time and explains about what is being done and what might need to be done. I recently had an appointment and wanted to discuss a concern I had with the office procedures during a previous visit. Due to some inadequate dental care when I was young, I felt so embarrassed about my teeth that I would unconsciously put my hand over my mouth when I spoke to people. I was very nervous to see a new dentist but during my initial visit to the office, Dr. Sherman very throughly, patiently and compassionately explained different options that were available to help restore my smile and my confidence. The results of his meticulous work were beyond anything that I could have imagined. With all sincerity, I can honestly say that Dr. Sherman changed my life. Update: Dr. Sherman goes above and beyond for his patients in a way that I have not experienced from any other medical professional. My most recent example was last month, a few days before Christmas. I woke up experiencing tenderness on the right side of my mouth, which by mid-afternoon had developed into blinding pain that extended from my right lower jaw all the way up my face to my eye. Although Dr. Sherman's office was closed for the holiday, I left a tearful message on his voicemail explaining my situation. Dr. Sherman returned my call within a very short timeframe and offered to meet me at his office within the hour. Let me reiterate again that his office was closed, yet he left his home and family to help me. Without any staff to assist him, after he diagnosed my issue he performed a root canal all on his own so I wouldn't continue to be in excruciating pain. Just had my 6 month cleaning with Chi, another awesome dental hygienist at First Impressions. I've been going to First Impressions for many years and am rarely disappointed with the care the whole team takes in making sure I'm comfortable. Rarely do I wait, the equipment is top quality, super clean environment, happy people, good music, always professional but professional with feeling. Dr. Sherman has a full staff of awesome, highly trained dental hygienists and he spends time with each patient to ensure everything is in good shape before you leave. When I found First Impressions and booked my appointment, I truly didn't know what I was getting myself into. The moment I walked into Dr. Sherman's office it was so warm and welcoming. From the front desk, to the gal who did my exam, to the billing team, and to Dr. Sherman himself. I've been to many dental offices, but this was my first experience where I felt an entire team truly care about the state of mouth/health foremost rather then making another sale. I'm embarrassed to admit that it had been over 10 years since I've seen a dentist. My work, keeps me very busy, you know how it is. I finally decided to see one, Dr. Sherman came highly recommended, so I saw him. I needed quite a bit of work done (I wasn't surprised). I explained that I could never come back for three apts. I'd never get it all done. And he agreed to do it all in one day for me. It was hard for him to arrange that but he did. And that was today. I have never been more impressed. Their reception staff are nurturing, and so kind. They even have 2 tiny service puppies running around and cuddling eveyone. Dr. Sherman has been my dentist for the past year since moving from the east coast and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely WONDERFUL staff and everything is easy-peasy from reception to billing. Stay Away from this office. Failed root canal that he created (he uncovered the nerves while prepping for crowns), then botched (had to be redone at an Endodontist and I paid AGAIN), the wrong color crowns put in that had to be taken out and redone, resulting in permanently loose bottom teeth. I went through 6 months of suffering and pain. I did return over and over, for what I though was a bite misalignment. It was not! My bottom teeth had become infected and it was inflammation. More root canals from the Endodontist. this should have been diagnosed by Sherman and I would not have had to go through so many months of pain. I really wanted to like this practice. Too many mistakes that I definitely paid for in currency and Pain! read more

Today was my third visit to Dr Sherman's dental office. I had my deep cleaning and permanent crown done this morning. Each visit was a nice experience as hygienist and the Doctor went through everything with me and made sure that I was comfortable with the procedure. Like most people, I have fear with dentist. I wore braces for years and had gone through lots of painful procedures in the past. For the last 4 years, I did not go to the dentist at all and on top of that, my poor oral hygiene resulted on cavities and major tartar buildup. As expected, Doctor Sherman told me the same thing on my first visit and he made plans for the work to be done this year and next year including the cost. Dental cost is expensive, no matter what, but since the plans are split within 2 years, the cost per year makes more sense to me. I had a root canal treatment with Dr Keever and it was painless and straightforward. The hygienists who did the rest of the procedures (Becca, Andrea and Aggie) were gentle too. I was choking on my own saliva today during deep cleaning but I could have simply told my hygienist to use the suction more in that area before it happened. Scheduling was very easy and the girls at the front desk are very nice too! I never waited for more than 10 minutes. read more
