Rebecca has been the greatest source of comfort and strength for me and my family as we had our first child this year. I began with Rebecca's prenatal yoga classes in my second trimester after being fortunate enough to team up with her to be my birth doula. Even virtually, Rebecca managed to cultivate a deeply loving community. I looked forward to each class, which had the perfect balance of practice and open shares from each participant on our pregnancy journeys (the high highs and low lows). I can say without question that Rebecca made what could have been a traumatic birth experience into one that I look back on with empowerment and even (some) joy ("some" cause, I mean, c'mon it's still childbirth). I was in agony in early labor and when she arrived, Rebecca's energy, focus, and experience completely shifted my experience. She knew exactly what I needed in terms of positions, massage, partner support, and how to best communicate with the medical team and advocate for myself. And when you get Rebecca for birth, you get her for life too! Rebecca's postpartum visit to our home was incredibly helpful to me and my partner in terms of the next steps and how we can support one another. She also connected me with a lactation consultant that we desperately needed when I was having nursing troubles early on. I've also enrolled in one of her Mommy + Me classes and she has, ONCE again, been a saving grace during an unavoidably challenging time. Having no immediate family in LA, it's critical for me to have a community of mothers I can turn to, and this class has given me just that. Not only do I have the classes and peers to turn to, but Rebecca continues to make herself available to me via text to answer any (usually anxiously silly) questions I have. Any parent will know that sometimes you just need to ugly cry in front of other people who know exactly why you're ugly crying, and this class makes space for that as WELL as opportunities to learn what the heck it is I'm supposed to be doing. Rebecca meets each of her clients (and babies) where they are, providing support, love, wisdom, and a safe, judgment-free space to feel every feeling that comes with parenthood. Rebecca is an incredible person. I heard about her through a few friends who had taken her prenatal yoga classes, had her as their doula and were in her Mommy and Me group. When my babe was 2 months I decided to join my friends Mommy and Me group with Rebecca and it has truly been a blessing. But after what turned out to be a uniquely amazing sound bath experience, I could not wait to go back to the following Wednesday to do both, Julia Carpenter's yoga and another meditation sound bath. My follow up with Julia's class turned out equally life changing. I've been doing Yoga a while, had different teachers, and Julia is absolutely amazing. Besides being one of the nicest people ever, she tailors each session to how the students are feeling, and any muscle, bodily, stress induced or previous injuries. Her classes are happy, focusing on the whole being mind, body and spirit. Form and feeling creating a rigorous and restorative class at the same time. Words can't express how good I feel on so many levels after one of her classes at Wellborn Lifestyles in Sherman Oaks and then such a fantastic meditation with Kirsten Korot's sound bath. Prices are reasonable, if not on the low end too. Wednesday nights at 6pm are my happy spot with Julia and Kirsten, de-stressing and finding peace in such a crazy world - like having one's own private beach. Finding all these wonderful people in this oasis of peace is why I buy a monthly subscription to Wellborn Lifestyles. I highly recommend this wonderful place. You will not be disappointed. If you're looking for a Doula who will go above and beyond, you're in the right place. When my wife and I got pregnant having a doula was very important to us, so we met with a few people who came recommended but none felt like the right fit. Then we met Rebecca. Within 5 minutes we knew she was the person who was supposed to help bring our child into this world. From the second we met her she felt like a friend. Her calming demeanor, confidence, and appreciation of our sense of humor gave us confidence throughout our pregnancy that we would get the birthing experience my wife desired. And she never let us down. Rebecca was there for us the whole way. Answering questions during pregnancy, prepping us for the birth and my wife even took yoga classes with her right up until she gave birth, which helped prepare her for that magical experience. No words can accurately describe how amazing Rebecca was once we went into labor. My wife's water broke and her contractions went right to active labor (not the early labor we were expecting). Rebecca came over and helped us labor at home, set up the car for my wife so she would be as comfortable as possible on the drive, helped us get in to the hospital, massaged my wife through back labor, supported her and gave her strength to have an unmedicated birth and created the most wonderful vibe in the delivery room. To the men out there I can say that I couldn't have been as good of a supporting partner to my wife without Rebecca. She's a real expert and always knew what to do. We were in it all together along with our amazing doctor - the 4 of us...and then amazingly we were 5. It was a more beautiful experience than I could have imagined. Going into it I thought if you have a Doula for your first birth you wouldn't need one for your second, but I no longer believe that. AMAZING Prenatal yoga! This is no ordinary prenatal yoga class. While most classes I've found are pretty much modified yoga, this one is completely designed to prepare you for labor. This is my first pregnancy and I did not deliver yet but my intuition says this is some quality preparation and exactly what I need. Also I love hanging with all the amazing pregnant woman, gives me so much strength. Rebeca is such an amazing instructor and everyone else is so great and knowledgeable! Plus the studio is pampering from every aspect - Perfect setting created by just right lighting, a/c, scent and music. They even give some belly cream at the end of class, tea, and cold eucalyptus scented towels (Whattttt??), there's natural deodorant in the bathroom, a full body mirror... It really moves me the amount of love and thought these woman had poured into this place! Such a joy every time I come in and I'm so thankful to have found it! read more

First, she is able to choose poses and a pace that allow me to work without injuring myself. Birth is not something you can control and you can plan for it and know that it will not goes as planned. The birth of my son pretty much went the opposite of what I had hoped. But with Rebecca by our side my husband and I were still able to have a great birthing experience. Rebecca is knowledgeable, loving, caring and understanding. She was there for me and my husband as we faced the beautiful and fierce challenge that is childbirth. Her help before, during and after birth has been invaluable. I would highly recommend her as a doula. Her yoga classes are more than just classes- they are a community. I LOVED them. They are the best prenatal classes I tried.
