Robyn was always available and on the night I went into labor, she was in constant contact guiding us during the time leading up to our hospital arrival. She was there waiting for us at 1am ready to go - she was so prepared and immediately made me feel at ease for this unknown experience. All of the techniques she offered me, the constant emotional and physical support during labor (she is a talented masseuse!!), and her encouragement and backing of all my birth preferences (including ensuring our gender reveal stayed a surprise until the very end!) made the day such a positive experience. Not to mention, had Robyn not been there, I felt there was a very high likelihood I would have had to have had a cesarean birth due to my extended labor process. Even before the birth, Laura was constantly checking in on me, offering advice on everything from what to eat and drink to exercises that would help make labor easier. None of this was really her job, but she was always willing to go above and beyond to help. When we got home from the hospital, totally exhausted and unsure of what to do, Laura was right there, stepping in to take care of the baby so we could get some much-needed rest. Every night, she took care of our little one with so much love and attention, and in the morning, she'd fill us in on everything, giving us tips on how to handle different situations. We were so thankful to have her--she really saved us from making a lot of rookie mistakes. Laura's personality is just so warm and reassuring. Gentle Nurturing is Leslye Adelman, and Leslye Adelman is a horrible person…read more Short version: -did not follow through on her promises from day one -yelled at me and HUNG UP ON ME the first/only time I called her -charges $10 for her breastfeeding support group at A Mother's Haven...there are excellent FREE ones available in the area, trust me -is NOT worth your time or money. Long version: Last Friday, my doctor started me on antibiotics for a case of mastitis. I was shaking uncontrollably with a temperature of 101.2, was aching from head to toe, and was generally just miserable. By Sunday the temperature and body aches were gone, but the lump in my breast had grown to the size of a golf ball, and I was having terrible pain with just moving side to side. I called my doctor and she told me that I had one day to aggressively try and break up the clot, otherwise I would have to be admitted for IV antibiotics and a breast surgery consult. Of course this was upsetting. I started to follow her instructions, taking hot showers and kneading the lump, which was excruciating. I decided to call Leslye and see if she was available for a home consult, to offer her expertise and at least tell me if I was doing things correctly. Now, here I have to tell you that at both of my previous consults with Leslye, at our pediatrician's office, she told me that she was available via phone or text, 24/7, and that if I had any questions I could contact her. I texted her once, just after our first consult, because she was supposed to email us a list of baby apps she recommended. She never replied to that text, nor did she ever send us the promised email. That was over 3 weeks ago. On this day, Sunday, I called the first number she gave me, but there was no answer, so I left a voicemail. Then I decided to try the second number. I was in agony, exhausted, and desperate. The second number rang, then suddenly Leslye picks up and says, "STOP CALLING ME", then immediately hangs up. I was dumbfounded. I hadn't been harassing her...far from it. For a brief second I thought perhaps she thought it was someone else, so I sent a quick text message saying as much, as well as identifying myself and letting her know I needed her lactation expertise. Her phone sends "read receipts", so I saw that she promptly read the message, but I received no response, nor a call back. As I said, I was in pain, hadn't been able to rest because I was constantly showering, massaging, or pumping, and was completely terrified that I might end up back in the hospital. When Leslye hung up on me, I just started bawling. I certainly had NOT been calling her excessively....this was my first time! And at a time when I really truly needed her, her response was "STOP CALLING ME". I have already found another lactation consultant, and let me tell you, the difference is astounding. There are enough great LCs out there that you DO NOT need to suffer through dealing with Leslye Adelman. My husband and I are so absolutely turned off by her behavior that we have even reconsidered taking classes at A Mother's Haven, where she also does some work. Parenthood and breastfeeding is already so stressful and exhausting. Please listen to me and don't add more stress to your life...avoid this woman.

Not always immediately but we need to remember that if she is with a client then she will not take calls - I get it! Leslye also helped me with dosage of supplements to help maintain my supply and always wanted to know how I was progressing. Leslye - if you are reading this, THANK YOU! I went to BF support groups at the hospital that I delivered at but got far more personal attention from you. You were one of the main reasons I am still nursing my son at 13+ months. Looking back now, five months postpartum, I truly know she was an answer to my prayer. Chavah cared for us from the very beginning of my pregnancy--around three months along--through birth and into those precious first weeks postpartum. Throughout every appointment, she was wise, kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to educate us, answer our endless first-time-parent questions, and guide us through each stage with confidence and reassurance. One thing that especially touched us was her willingness to go above and beyond when life threw us an unexpected curveball. Midway through my pregnancy, my husband and I had to relocate, moving about 70 miles away. Most people would have understandably referred us elsewhere, but Chavah generously agreed to keep us on as clients. We were so grateful. Those extra miles meant more to us than she probably realizes. Our pregnancy was healthy and uncomplicated. The only bump in the road was that I needed an iron boost, and Chavah quickly connected us with excellent care for a couple of iron transfusions. Her experience and attentiveness gave us complete confidence that we were in good hands every step of the way. When it came time to give birth, Chavah was absolutely amazing. She created an environment where I felt informed, supported, and in control. Well... as much control as a woman can feel while temporarily visiting another dimension during contractions. Thankfully, our son had places to be and arrived after just five hours of active labor, making his debut before lunchtime. Today, we are five months postpartum and have a healthy, thriving baby boy. I've intentionally taken my time writing this review because I wanted to reflect carefully on our experience and express just how grateful we are. Chavah brought wisdom when I needed guidance, encouragement when I felt uncertain, and compassion when I was grieving. She cared for not only my physical health, but my emotional well-being too. I honestly cannot imagine a better midwife experience. If we are blessed with more children in the future, I would choose Chavah again without hesitation.
