As first-time parents, we were anxious and sleep-deprived upon coming home from the hospital with our baby, and having Lauren there during that first night at home was absolutely life-saving -- I felt so grateful and relieved to see her walk through the door. She was so warm and reassuring, and I knew that our baby would be in good hands. Each night that she came, she would answer all our random questions that we had written down, teach us how to soothe and care for our new baby, and give us the opportunity to catch up on much-needed sleep while she looked after the baby overnight. Then before leaving each morning, she would always give us a summary of how the night went, including anything notable about the baby's health or behavior and any relevant advice. It's clear that Lauren is an expert at what she does, and it was amazing to have her as our trusted advisor on all things baby-related. She is a patient and professional teacher, and her guidance has helped build our confidence as new parents. Anyone would be lucky to work with her! Thank you, Lauren!

Coming home from the hospital as first time parents and knowing Lauren was there to support us helped relieve our "newborn" stress. Lauren adapted her style to our needs. She is extremely experienced and anticipated what we would need before issues arose. She is attentive, attuned and communicates well. She helped us grow in confidence for caring for our child so that by the time she left, although we missed her company, we felt equipped for parenthood. Before I met Lauren, I was hesitant to accept that a night doula could fit into our family. Those first few months are so intimate, and I didn't want to have anyone around that would dampen the experience. Well, that worry was unfounded with Lauren. Lauren helped me be able to focus on my son better than I could have without her help. If you are thinking of hiring Lauren, don't take my word for it - see for yourself.

I began with Rebecca's prenatal yoga classes in my second trimester after being fortunate enough to team up with her to be my birth doula. Even virtually, Rebecca managed to cultivate a deeply loving community. I looked forward to each class, which had the perfect balance of practice and open shares from each participant on our pregnancy journeys (the high highs and low lows). I can say without question that Rebecca made what could have been a traumatic birth experience into one that I look back on with empowerment and even (some) joy ("some" cause, I mean, c'mon it's still childbirth). I was in agony in early labor and when she arrived, Rebecca's energy, focus, and experience completely shifted my experience. She knew exactly what I needed in terms of positions, massage, partner support, and how to best communicate with the medical team and advocate for myself. And when you get Rebecca for birth, you get her for life too! Rebecca's postpartum visit to our home was incredibly helpful to me and my partner in terms of the next steps and how we can support one another. She also connected me with a lactation consultant that we desperately needed when I was having nursing troubles early on. I've also enrolled in one of her Mommy + Me classes and she has, ONCE again, been a saving grace during an unavoidably challenging time. Having no immediate family in LA, it's critical for me to have a community of mothers I can turn to, and this class has given me just that. Not only do I have the classes and peers to turn to, but Rebecca continues to make herself available to me via text to answer any (usually anxiously silly) questions I have. Any parent will know that sometimes you just need to ugly cry in front of other people who know exactly why you're ugly crying, and this class makes space for that as WELL as opportunities to learn what the heck it is I'm supposed to be doing. Rebecca meets each of her clients (and babies) where they are, providing support, love, wisdom, and a safe, judgment-free space to feel every feeling that comes with parenthood. I am forever grateful to have her in my corner, and you will be too!

She knows the body and is able to communicate with her class and clients in a loving, supportive and empowering manner. I was supported by two A+ yogis/teachers and a community of equally wonderful teacher trainees. It opened my heart and mind in ways I didn't expect. I am very grateful for having a mentor who is so enthusiastic about wellness and spiritual growth and to be a part of a community that she continues lead and nurture.

The tools and techniques I learned in her class gave me the confidence and calm I needed--and I used them again when I gave birth to my second child in June 2023. Both births were completely unmedicated, peaceful, and empowering. I wasn't afraid--I actually enjoyed the experience. Alisha is incredibly warm, kind, and grounded. Her presence alone is calming, and she was always able to soothe any fears or anxieties I had. I even called her while in labor, and she guided me through breathing techniques that helped me stay centered. With my first, I arrived at the hospital already 9 centimeters dilated after laboring at home most of the day. It was a beautiful experience. My husband took the class with me, which was so helpful. He knew exactly how to support me and understood the birth experience I envisioned. Because I had such a positive experience, I even reached out to Alisha while my sister was in labor. Although my sister hadn't taken the course, Alisha generously offered to speak with her and provided much-needed reassurance during a stressful time. To this day, I still use the calming techniques I learned, and I'm teaching my children the importance of mindfulness and meditation. Alisha's guidance has truly had a lasting impact on me and my family.

After it was over, the Dr. who was a neo-natal surgeon (and wasn't too sure about hypnobirthing) was so impressed, he took Alisha aside in the room and said he'd never had a patient so calm while he was suturing them. I went into this birth after a previous C-section, really hoping for a HBAC but honestly not fully trusting that my body would get me there. Beth helped us figure out what was actually going on--baby had flipped posterior--and gave us really clear direction on what to do next. No pressure, no fear, just calm, grounded guidance. By the time active labor hit, I was in a pretty raw place. Tired, emotional, unsure. When Beth and team arrived, everything shifted. She was so calm and steady, and I could feel that she trusted my body even when I didn't. Things moved fast after her arrival . At one point baby's shoulder got a little stuck and I remember hearing timing being called out, but Beth handled it so calmly and confidently that there was never panic in the room. Within moments, he was in my arms. It was intense, messy, beautiful, and honestly one of the most empowering experiences of my life. The two at-home sessions leading up to my hospital birth were so informative and really made my husband and I feel as prepared as possible to think through lots of different scenarios (and much more informative than any labor course we took!). Robyn is clearly incredibly experienced, professional, and so deeply cares about the mamas and partners she supports. Robyn was always available and on the night I went into labor, she was in constant contact guiding us during the time leading up to our hospital arrival. She was there waiting for us at 1am ready to go - she was so prepared and immediately made me feel at ease for this unknown experience. All of the techniques she offered me, the constant emotional and physical support during labor (she is a talented masseuse!!), and her encouragement and backing of all my birth preferences (including ensuring our gender reveal stayed a surprise until the very end!) made the day such a positive experience. Not to mention, had Robyn not been there, I felt there was a very high likelihood I would have had to have had a cesarean birth due to my extended labor process. Instead, the techniques and positions Robyn worked with the doctors and nurses to offer meant that I got to have the safe and healthy delivery I had hoped for. Robyn also set an incredible vibe (music, candlelight, relaxing aromatherapy, honey sticks for energy!) that made the room feel special instead of cold and sterile. My husband and I both agreed that having Robyn as our doula was one of the best decisions and we have a beautiful, healthy baby girl and only positive memories of the labor experience because she was such an important part of our birthing team. We love you Robyn!!

I wanted to feel supported and try for a VBAC for my second birth so I decided to work with Andrey for the birth of our daughter. Everything went good at the beginning, we had our in person interview, shortly after that meeting we decided we would be a fit for each other. After that she came over one more time and afterwards she told me she had a family oversees she was working with and would be available via phone/zoom and if needed to she would introduce me to a back up doula incase she wasn't back in time for my birth. The way she introduced us was thru text (no phone call or even an effort to do a zoom call so me and that back up doula could meet each other) no professionalism. My prenatal care was very limited nothing close to what Andrey promotes. Then I asked for a list of what to bring in my birth bag, she said she would send, I had to ask about 4 times until she sent and the reason I didn't get it was because she had sent it to a 'Victoria' how do you forget your clients name especially when you are a part of one of the most vulnerable times in their life. Fast forward to my birth Andrey ended up not being there. I ended up working with the back up doula & my first time meeting her and talking to her was her walking in my room while I laid in my bed clothe-less in pain as I was going thru my contractions (not the most ideal setting to meet someone for the first time who is going to be a part of a raw and emotional intimate time) a few days later Andrey lets me know shes back in LA and is coming to see me & baby to help with postpartum care. Then texts me cancelling because her car is in the shop (She could've taken an Uber) and cannot make it and she can come another day. She comes over a couple days after that for a few hours and tells me she will be back @10am the next day to help us some more. The next morning @9:35am she txts me she cannot make it and isn't available until the following week. I had cancelled help from my sitter to help with my newborn and toddler and my husband had left to work because we had relied on having help from Andrey that morning. At that point I was feeling extremely upset. The care and support I was expecting which Andrey advocates heavily on was nowhere close to what I was given. What was supposed to be a time in my life where I should've been given unwavering love and support turned into a time of grief and sadness for me. I decided to have a conversation with Andrey and let her know how I was feeling and I no longer felt comfortable working together. She apologized and told me I was a client that 'fell thru the cracks.' Simply she overcommitted and I was put in the back burner or was her last option sadly. She offered to bring some postpartum stuff to help with grief and overall just to help me emotionally and would drop it off in the next couple days, she never did. Unfortunately Andrey constantly overpromised and underdelivered.

I remember sharing that with Chavah early in my pregnancy, and from that moment on, she cared for me with a level of compassion and sensitivity that I will never forget. Before I even chose a midwife, I prayed for guidance. Then I opened Yelp, and Chavah was the very first midwife I called. After speaking with her on the phone, I didn't search any further. Looking back now, five months postpartum, I truly know she was an answer to my prayer. Chavah cared for us from the very beginning of my pregnancy--around three months along--through birth and into those precious first weeks postpartum. Throughout every appointment, she was wise, kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to educate us, answer our endless first-time-parent questions, and guide us through each stage with confidence and reassurance. One thing that especially touched us was her willingness to go above and beyond when life threw us an unexpected curveball. Midway through my pregnancy, my husband and I had to relocate, moving about 70 miles away. Most people would have understandably referred us elsewhere, but Chavah generously agreed to keep us on as clients. We were so grateful. Those extra miles meant more to us than she probably realizes. Our pregnancy was healthy and uncomplicated. The only bump in the road was that I needed an iron boost, and Chavah quickly connected us with excellent care for a couple of iron transfusions. Her experience and attentiveness gave us complete confidence that we were in good hands every step of the way. When it came time to give birth, Chavah was absolutely amazing. She created an environment where I felt informed, supported, and in control. Well... as much control as a woman can feel while temporarily visiting another dimension during contractions. Thankfully, our son had places to be and arrived after just five hours of active labor, making his debut before lunchtime. Today, we are five months postpartum and have a healthy, thriving baby boy. I've intentionally taken my time writing this review because I wanted to reflect carefully on our experience and express just how grateful we are. Chavah brought wisdom when I needed guidance, encouragement when I felt uncertain, and compassion when I was grieving. She cared for not only my physical health, but my emotional well-being too. I honestly cannot imagine a better midwife experience. If we are blessed with more children in the future, I would choose Chavah again without hesitation. Knowing she would be part of our care would bring immediate peace of mind. Thank you, Chavah, for everything you did for our family--and for so much more than was ever required. We will always be grateful.

I used to come to her house and she would teach me about healing with essential oils, gardening, delicious recipes that weren't entrenched in sugar, and all things BIRTH. I always told her that one day, when I was going to have a baby that she was going to be my doula. And oh boy was she. First of all, she is certified in so many birthing preparation courses, it makes her the most well rounded educator. She is a certified hypnobabies educator and we took the 6 week course with her in preparation for our birthing time. We learned more with Debbie than I did with my OB. Debbie provided us an entire educational viewpoint with the added hyonobabies platform. It was incredible! I went into labor at home and labored until I was about 4.5 centimeters, using hypnobabies. When I got to the hospital, I was wearing my headphones staying in hypnosis and the nurses who triaged me complimented me on how calm how I was choosing to move through my birthing waves. It was an incredible experience. Also, having the education of what the hospital would try to coerce me into doing or saying, and knowing what my rights were or how to push back gently was very empowering. I had no anxiety about sticking up for myself, because I had practiced ahead of time, using Hypnobabies. We even went though a mock birthing and delivery simulation at home, within hypnobabies, and my husband was prepared on the different birthing positions he could support me in, different ways to help me stay in hypnosis, how to advocate for me with hospital staff while I was under hypnosis, physical pressure points to help and so much more. She's also trained in the Body Ready Method and she used this technique to support us in so many ways. When I was having lower back pain, she taught me the poses to do to help stretch and alleviate that pain. She taught us what poses we could do on my birthing ball. She taught us poses to do to help the baby engage deeper into the pelvis. Our whole experience was a complete holistic, well rounded education and preparation for birth and I could not be more thankful. I can't say enough how much more I got from Debbie than I did from my OB. Working with Debbie outside of the hospital system helped me to feel like a real person. At the hospital, while I had a positive experience, I definitely felt like a number. Speaking of hospital, it was our plan to labor at home and then go to the hospital when I was further dilated and we did that. It also just so happened that Debbie knew some of the hospital staff on the floor at the time, being that she had worked with them out in the birthing field. It only made my experience better. When Debbie arrived, she set up candles (fire proof) all around my room, tea lights, affirmations to encourage being calm and peaceful. It was so incredible and it contributed to the whole experience being that much more peaceful. When I was pushing, she helped me to breathe down into my pushed. Before I would make a decision with the nurses, I would look to Debbie for opinion first. My entire birthing experience was supported and Debbie was such a huge part of it. When I was laboring at home the week before I delivered, she stocked my fridge with soups for postpartum, a pregnancy drink to help with labor, sitz bath herbs for postpartum, lactation cookies. She did our placenta and turned them into capsules, she made us a tincture with the placenta too. I used her blend of pregnant tea throughout pregnancy. She is so knowledgeable and it exceeds birth. Her whole life is this beautifully holistic, homeopathic, healing example of a life lived with intention. Any birthing family is blessed to work with her. Thank You, Debbie! - Naikea Ward Ubaga
