Great venue for kids party. I had my Godson's party in the gymnasium, this venue was perfect. I…read morenever knew the gymnasium was rentable, I only thought it was the actual house. I also added the jump house, which was a big hit. We were able to unplug it when it came time for our arts and craft for the kids, and plugged it back in when we were done with the activities. We were able to set up the tables the way we wanted so that, we can use the center for the games and activities we had planned. I booked it with Ann who is the Marketing associate, she is very professional and friendly, we stayed in contact via email up about 48 hours prior to my event. We went over the contract the day I signed, and a few days before my event to go over everything such as rules and the start/end time. I met with Frank the facilities Manager in the beginning and at the end of my event, he was also very professional and friendly. Overall the party was great, many people reached out to me on info so they can plan future events at this location. If you want to deal with professional, friendly people I'd definitely say book here. Last thing to keep in mind if you plan on setting up decor/balloons you will need to add additional time to your contract for setting up and also for cleaning up at the end of your event.

We rented the gym for our 1 year old's birthday party and it worked out great. After calling 20+ places, the Community House answered promptly and worked efficiently to ensure we could have the party less than two days later. The gym was a perfect place to hold a party for kids. They were able to run around and play out of the toy closet. We were also grateful for the chairs and tables that were made available for no extra charge. I'll definitely be remembering them for future parties and would recommend them without hesitation.

I visited Mayyim Hayyim in preparation for my wedding in 2012, yet I'm writing this review in 2018…read more Why? Because I saw there were only two other reviews, and it made me sad that the lack of reviews might inhibit others from experiencing this place, which I really loved. For context, I'm a queer Jew (raised reform) who was marrying another woman (who was a non-Jew). I had no intention of using the mikveh on a monthly basis after my wedding, but I loved the idea of immersing as a pre-wedding tradition. I was a bit nervous to go, but I felt completely welcomed and supported while I was there. The person who greeted me was warm and welcoming, and understood that I didn't really know what I was doing. The room where you pre-wash and prepare has some instructions, blessings, and things to meditate on/think about, which I appreciated. There were options for different blessings, which I appreciated. The actual mikveh itself was unbelievably gorgeous. I wanted to linger longer! I left feeling refreshed and contemplative. I would unquestionably recommend this place to anyone considering an immersion before getting married (or other major life event). For me, it was a wonderful way to have a private, special moment before embarking on a big new chapter in my life.

Garbage of a town center. Makes perfect sense. Wayland may be rich. But take a closer look and its…read morea town full of Karens, male and female. Taxes are through the fucking roof. City services are slow because all the residents that work in government capacity are so damn well fed they waddle around. Epitome of what living in the lap of luxury produces. A fat bloated bureaucracy that's gets shit done at a snails pace. This town center belongs somewhere in Malden, Everett, or Somerville where the population can support a monstrosity of this size. Im guessing there was a shitload of chrony capitalism that was in play during development.

As a resident of Wayland, I've lived through the nightmarish development process for this mall…read more I've watched the developers back out of promises (affordable housing, deeded green space to the town focus on local small business). I've paid the price, through my taxes, while the developer sued the town. I will pay the price when Whole Foods moves out of town. So I admit that I start with a sour taste in my mouth. The reality is - this monstrosity has been built. So I should frequent it. Otherwise it becomes another abandoned shopping plaza. Which will blight our town and further increase my taxes. I finally have figured out why I don't frequent this place. It's because there is no where to go there. There are so many stop and shops, Panera, Bertuccis's, liquor stores, subway, Joe banks around. Most are bigger, better and closer to my house. I tried to do my last minute Christmas shopping- but the store choice is limited. What can you buy a 3 year old at Joe banks, ace hardware or a mattress store? Considering half of Wayland is closer to the golden triangle, and the other half is equidistant to try 20 Sudbury- I don't know the purpose of this half arsed mall of miniature versions of ubiquitous chain stores.

Even though so many people remember the traffic light in the middle of the street, the center now works much better than the previous status. The entire center has been fully repaved and completely renovated with parking, sidewalks, lighting, traffic lights and so much more. Lots of the storefronts currently have reconstruction and others have already been completed. A few new restaurants and stores are slated to open soon (Horse Thieves Tavern, Blue Ribbon BBQ) in the Square which is a very much needed attribute that Dedham was lacking. Currently, the only restaurants in Dedham are chain restaurants all on Providence Highway. With that said, Dedham Square is an up and coming zone, unlike Norwood Center as it comparably has declined immensely. Dedham is growing and growing and the goals and wants of residents and the way that this Square is appreciated, acknowledged and kept up shows how the residents of Dedham do in fact care about their town community, which is always something I as a nearby resident like to see. Always great seeing areas with high amounts of local businesses and restaurants. In general, the improvements to the landscape and improvements of many more tenants have both made Dedham Square a more desirable and hopeful area. I would suggest visiting to look around, you may be pleasantly surprised with the options of restaurants, retail, coffee shops, and local services you are able to find. 4 stars.
