Will was excellent! Top notch service. Disappointed I didn't get my 90 minutes because I was late due to traffic but he was great!

I found Impact through a google search and was intrigued by the small group personal training format and decided to give it a try. From the moment I first contacted the gym, Peter was incredibly attentive and made sure to understand my "why" so that he could best support me in my fitness journey. Classes are certainly difficult, but not so hard as to leave you feeling defeated which I appreciate. Peter & his team are willing to put as much effort and time into your journey as you are! I am now 20 weeks pregnant, and I couldn't be more grateful for Impact throughout this process. It has made me stronger and leaner (until I got pregnant) and now has left me feeling strong, capable and MOBILE over the last 20 weeks. I can't stop saying how great I've felt so far throughout this first half of my pregnancy and I attribute a good amount of that to the type of work we do at Impact. The modifications allow me to continue to get a great workout but take into account that changes my body is going through and I value how much Peter & his team are able to adjust the workouts to fit whatever you are dealing with in life. Can't wait to continue exercising through the next 20 weeks and then to build my strength back up post baby!

I asked very nicely if they could take it in the hall or common area, it's posted as a rule not to talk on the floor. He looked at me like he wanted to kill me and kept talking. Spencer, a trainer, was about 10 feet away. I asked him if he could please tell him to not take a call here. He said he couldn't. He could do it later. I said I don't understand, it would take 3 seconds to ask, you just talked to me longer than that, just ask him please. He said he couldn't, in a way that seemed like teasing, like he was tying to make me feel petty for asking. I went downstairs and complained to the person at the desk. When I went back upstairs Spencer came right up to me and said he asked him and he hung up the phone. It was obvious now he had been teasing me, because he came right up to me to try to patch it over. No one likes to be ridiculed. This is the first time something like this happened. There is a man there who stares at people. A few weeks ago he walked up to me and yelled in my face when I asked him not to stare at me. I told him to please move away from me, he didn't. I mentioned it to the spikey haired guy at the desk who said "Oh ya, he's does that a lot, I know exactly who you're talking about." Nothing has been done, and this guy continues to roam around there looking to pick a fight. They need to take care of members. Something is wrong here. I'm leaving. It's their job to enforce rules, members shouldn't have to beg them.

I was told that they had no staff available to give me a tour, however there were 2 staff at the desk. Overall I felt as though this experience was underwhelming and I was left dissatisfied.

I was so pleasantly surprised however at how accomodating everyone at Fitness Together -Sudbury was to the variability in my schedule. This was the first membership where I actually saw positive results in strength, flexibility, and weightloss. I happened to work with Chris, Justin, Kevin and Sarah because of my schedule, all of whom were excellent, positive and definitely encouraging. They made the workouts interesting and introduced exercises that made the most of my valuable time by working out different muscle groups at once as well as on the core abdominal group. Cardiovascular and stretching exercises were also an integral part of the workouts. I can not say enough about my experience thus far, but it's greatest strengths are the people that work there including Dawn and owner Josh who check in on you with followup emails or calls. I've lost 13 lbs since October and have definitely seen healthy improvements in all aspects of my physical conditioning. Thanks Fitness Together Sudbury! You guys are awesome!

You will get a workout. Maria, the owner and one of the instructors, is extremely friendly, and helpful. There are two showers, and people are usually pretty respectful with how long they spend in the showers. The changing room is pretty much open space. I'm not that "free", so I usually duck into the bathroom stalls to change. You have to expect that there is a certain smell for a yoga studio where the exercise is sweat your balls off for 90 minutes in 105 deg room, but this studio makes effort to keep the place welcoming. They updated the carpet and steam-clean the space. I also like there is enough space in the studio to spread out. There are enough classes at different times. You are never on top of each other, where you have to sweat on another person's towel, or vice versa.

I have been coming to Hometown Sweat since they were in their old location on Huron Drive…read more Honestly, the vibe has changed since reopening in the new space. Not only is the heated room smaller, it smells ripe all the time, the staff are forgetful and sometimes moody, some of the patrons are rude, the continuous waitlists are annoying, and the "feeling of community" is all a farce. I enjoyed the Sculpt classes taught by Sami on Thursday mornings but due to my schedule, I had to resort to the noontime class taught by an instructor who is consistently forgetful. It has become a running joke among her students whether she's going to remember the right side plank or hydrant after completing the left side or vice versa. The biggest issue I take with this studio is this idea of community and their so-called studio rules. They are unwritten (but apparently are stated rules). If you ask an instructor about these unwritten rules, beware... you could be considered aggressive for asking...and have your membership canceled without even a conversation. What are these unwritten rules you might ask? Surprisingly, these unwritten but stated rules that everyone should know or be able to hear in a crowded room with blasting music and loud conversation is about the positioning of students in the studio when it gets crowded. Of course, this might seem obvious that one would stagger with their neighbor if they felt like there was any danger to oneself or the neighbor. But no...these unwritten rules state that the staggering is led by the person on the complete opposite side of the room. For example, if you have placed your mat in the farthest right corner of the room by the mirror, it is your job to follow the lead of a person on the complete opposite side of the room, someone you cannot see, especially given how crowded the studio is which is why there is staggering in the first place. This happened to me. Another class member came up to my mat at the end of class and confronted me because I did not follow the "rules" to give her daughter enough space. She yelled at me in the class and was very aggressive to me, telling me that she was going to have the instructor explain to me these "rules". After I cooled off on my mat, I found the instructor and asked her about these "rules". She informed me that these "rules" were unwritten but stated at the beginning of each class. I cannot remember ever hearing that these "rules"even existed, maybe because she might have forgotten to say them that day, maybe because I couldn't hear her over the music and the conversations that were happening, or maybe something else. But my asking clarification on these rules became an issue and rather than understanding the facts about the situation, the owner (who was not even present) left a voicemail that my membership was cancelled. I sent an email explaining my side and to express my disappointment about her lack of a thorough review of what happened from all parties , and asked her to provide a written explanation of the cancellation without a review. I also asked that "rules" should be written and not just stated. Not only was I the one who was treated aggressively by another member, but the owner's complete dismissal of their own community member without a thorough review negates the whole "community" that she sold us on, and to do it all over voicemail. She has yet to respond to my email, but left another voicemail. Who does that?

It works out to about $24-$30 a session, 3 sessions a week is the minimum, and the contracts are for a 3 month, 6 month, or 1 year membership - paid in full up front. The trainer for my info session was great, and I enjoyed an hour long work out - 30 minutes in circuit type weight training, and 30 minutes of cardio intervals on a treadmill. The trainer was very attentive and showed me how to do each exercise. The session only had 2 other women in it, so everyone got attention from the trainer. After the work out, I met with a staffer to discuss the Get In Shape program. In addition to the work out sessions, they also encourage their members to follow a nutrition plan they provide, which emphasizes eating 100 grams of protein a day. (The nutrition plan seemed similar to Weight Watchers Points Plus program to me, but the staffer was not happy when I made that comparison.) They also have nutrition coaching and check in sessions as part of your membership. The before & after photos on the wall of members are impressive. Despite their website saying you get a "free week trial". I only had the one session. If the cost were lower, I'd have joined up as a member.
