Dr. Wicker and his team were good to me in the beginning. I really enjoyed the teeth cleaning and Wicker is a master with the drill. So bonus points for that. My husband went to his appointment after me and they were completely different with him. Very pushy and aggressive about what he needed and he felt bullied. My husband is the sweetest and kindest human being and did not deserve to be like this. He came home upset and stressed out. And that's no way a person should ever feel after visiting the dentist. I called later to reschedule my cleaning as this was one of the reasons that I signed on with them in the first place. They were always able to get me in in reasonable time. They mentioned that they always have room for their clients. Instead, they told me that they didn't have another appointment for 6months, making it clear that they couldn't even put me on a cancellation list. My takeaways: Their prices are extremely high, double and triple the going rates. Insurance generally not accepted or rather insurance won't pay because of their exorbitant rates. They are very aggressive and pushy. They are not as accommodating as they claim to be. They use the terms holistic and wellness in their description, which is attractive to those of us looking for what would be a more natural approach, but they are inauthentic when it comes to what you really need. What a fantastic dentist. After researching all the options in Eugene, OR I chose this one because of his desire to use the best materials for any dental work. Think of him as an organic, vs. a conventional farmer. Instead of offering you the super cheap pesticide chemical-ridden tomato, he has gone out of his way to find the best quality organic tomato from an organic farm stand that tastes delicious and is actually good for you. There is a cost difference, but you are getting a different service. This one will support your health and immune system. And (as a recent transplant from Los Angeles), his pricing is really not that crazy at all. So, if you are sold in his method of practicing, you wait until you visit. The staff are incredibly friendly, you are made to feel super welcome. When you are in the chair, everything Is explained to you in words you can understand AND they go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. The facilities are super clean and spotless. (I have seen some awful dental practices in my time) and finally, when you are all done and ready to leave, I was offered the carnation in the picture. Now I cannot guarantee they'll give you a flower every time, but for a business to go above and beyond like that, they deserve a solid review explaining how much they care that you have a good experience. I highly recommend Dr Whicker and staff for superior dentistry. I had to have a lot of work done and was very apprehensive about the pain that might be involved. After the second bridge, and about 6 crowns over several years, I can attest that most of the time I did not even feel the injections. He takes his time, reassures you and explains what he is doing every step of the way. He instructs you that with a raise of your hand and he will pause what he is doing, for whatever reason. He does meticulous work, which is why I go to him even though he is out of my network. You are treated with care and consideration from the moment you enter the waiting room (Liz is kind, caring and helpful!) to the lovely carnation with which they send you off. The dental assistants are remarkable as well. Warm towels and a blanket, if needed/desired, are provided. And extra care is taken if you have removal of amalgam fillings, including a shot of chlorella, if wanted. Dr. Whicker follows up with a phone call, usually the evening of, to make sure you are doing well. I can't imagine better treatment or dentistry anywhere! read more

I had an extremely poor experience getting teeth whitening at this clinic. When I called to inquire about the procedure, the office staff assured me they were experienced in teeth whitening even though they hadn't performed it in a while. They charged me $700 for the treatment, and it was a nightmare. First, I had to wait a half hour after my scheduled time because they were short staffed and had to shuffle existing staff around. I never saw the dentist but only a tech who did the treatment. While she was friendly, she didn't seem experienced in the process. She never even used the blue light which I've read should be used for best results. They didn't take a before and after picture, but there was no noticeable improvement in the color of my teeth and after a month, zero change. I feel like I threw away $700. I'm writing this to warn other patients to avoid the waste of money, time, and frustration I experienced. read more

If you can afford it or are lucky enough to have really good dental insurance, this is hands-down the best dental experience available. The personal attention is comforting beyond words. The staff provides an unparalleled quality of professional services AND they care about the overall patient experience. Who hands out a fresh flower post-procedure? It seemed a little odd, but I totally dug it. So friendly, so kind. Dr. Whicker called me at home the evening of a large procedure to check-in and see how things were going. I was doing fine, but there was no doubt in my mind if things were not going well that he would have met me back at the office right then. I've been to another dentist since my visit with Dr. Whicker and the new dentist complimented Dr. Whicker's restoration on my tooth as "one of the best I've ever seen."
