I was referred to this practice after I had surgery to place the locators so that my dentures would slip right in. And I didn't know that they would be slipping and sliding out while I was eating. After numerous trips to have them adjusted I gave up and went to someone else. He is taking his time and he said that my previous dentures had been done very poorly.DUH ! I had a new patient exam at Oakmont Family Dental with Dr. Jillian Rose. Elise took me back to get xrays. She made me feel so welcome and comfortable, she provided me with a warm neck wrap and a cozy blanket for my time in the chair. She was talkative, kind and explained everything that was happening. It felt good to be seen and heard while in the chair. Dr. Jill was just as kind and helpful. I never once felt out of place in the office and they didn't make me feel like a dummy with bad oral hygiene. I have scheduled further care and cleanings with Oakmont Family Dental. I've been a patient here for about three years and I've always had positive experiences. I had a bad experience at a different dentist's office when I first moved here and the people here are so so much better. Everyone who works here is so pleasant and incredibly helpful. The folks at the front desk greet you with a smile and get you checked in super quickly. The dental hygienists are friendly, gentle, and care about your experience. The dentists are super nice and knowledgeable. Dr. Ian is my primary dentist and he is always friendly and thorough. I've had a couple of fillings as well as a repair and they've all gone very smoothly. There's rarely a wait to be seen even when I show up early. It's also great that they are open late since taking time off of work can be tricky for some people. The parking lot is small but easy to get in and out of. The bathroom is clean. They have free WiFi (password is on a sign by the front desk. They do giveaways sometimes and have referral rewards like gift cards. They offer you a whole list of comfort items to make your visit easier, and my friend who has a huge fear of the dentist has been able to get through her appointments more smoothly because of how gentle the staff are. I have continued to be a patient here even after moving across town and I'll never change dentists as long as I live in Eugene. I could not recommend this place highly enough! read more

The absolute BEST experience I've ever had! They helped squeeze me in for an emergency procedure and made me as comfortable as humanly possible. Then I was hooked!! It literally feels like a spa in here. They pamper you, make sure you're comfy, happy, and satisfied with your care. They always answer all my questions, even helped me figure out details about my insurance. They are always so sweet and attentive. They check in with you in the beginning about your expectations and needs, they check in throughout about how you're feeling and what you may need! Scheduling: Was super easy to book a first time appointment and ask for a cleaning through the online scheduling system. I dislike calling if I have to, so really glad online was an option. I haven't needed to use their extended hours, but it was nice to know they have them. Insurance and Cost: My dental insurance has a hard to find EOB, but luckily the dental assistant went through what my plan covered with me before we started doing any procedure in my mouth. Fluoride was $54 which is what my dentist in California charged, so seemed reasonable. Office: Is so BOUGIE! They offer warm towels, neck compresses, essential oils, headphones, A BLANKET (!!!), and other goodies to get you through a dentist appointment. I definitely used some of these and it made me feel cozy and cared for. They even gave me a free thermos!!!! Also, they have sleep consultations which I've never even heard of before, and that's free too. People: Elise was an awesome dental assistant!! As I said above, she went over everything covered by my insurance, but she also went above and beyond chatting with me, making sure I felt comfy, and accommodating my giant tonsils during the X-rays. Dr. Eggertsson was clear about the health of my teeth, and Stephanie (the hygienist) was also really great at cleaning my teeth. All of these people were helpful in answering my questions about dentist careers and even offered for me to shadow! Apparently they even have a dental assistant program, so I'm definitely going to check that out. All in all, I'm extremely content with my service here, and I'm so glad my insurance covers a lot of the care here. I don't have a ton of dental issues so I can't comment on the care quality for extended issues, but for a biannual cleaning, I'm more than satisfied. read more

Gave me a tour and made me feel very welcome from the minute I checked in til I checked out each time. Very straight forward about my care, the billing, what to expect in the days following my appointment. Etc. easy to schedule and get in. Overall have been impressed and happy with my care and the doctors and techs. I like how many details they give and make you feel involved in your care. They seem honest and nurturing to each person that comes in. We had a bad experience at our last dental office so this has been a breath of fresh air to come into. I always try to give the benefit of doubt when righting reviews, however, this is not the case with this dentistry. Firstly, I do not recommend this business and will not return based on our experience. My wife and I went in for routine cleanings, in late September 2024, at which time my wife was advised she needed to have her fillings replaced. An estimate was presented and an out of the pocket amount of $313 was stated. My wife advised Oakmont that our previous dentist had advised our benefits had been maxed for the year. The person behind the desk advised that was not the case. That they had checked her insurance and she had adequate benefits remaining to cover the procedures minus her out of pocket amount expense covering the replacement of her silver fillings with resin composite equivalents. Based on this misinformation she made the follow up appointment and had the work done. Paid her out of pocket amount at the time of service and life was good. Oh no, not so fast two months later we receive a bill for $823 and some change. Turns out our previous dentist was correct and our benefits had been exhausted leaving us having to pay out of pocket when she could have waited 3 months and had the work done in 2025 when her benefits had reset. After speaking to Oakmont billing department they apologized and this and that--the typical banter and reduced the bill to $420.70. After finding out they were charging us for the routine cleanings that are covered by our insurance benefits. All in all this was a very unprofessional experience. Be warned of these shysters who will not take responsibility for their mistakes and misinform their patients. read more

Spa-like experience! Ok first off, they serve cupcakes and have a menu for comfort options!!!! How cool is that? I was sitting comfy with my cozy blanket during my visit. The best dental experience I, and those I have recommended, have ever had! Every employee that you come into contact with is ever so helpful and friendly. I've seen Dr McLaughlin and Dr Salisbury and both did an excellent job and were very personable and informative. Carol and Kristin have been my hygienists and they were just incredibly sweet and also did an excellent job. I have very sensitive teeth and Kristin checked in with me often to access my comfort level and to ensure I had a good cleaning experience. I highly recommend this dental office, I scheduled my initial visit after seeing the overwhelming amount of people recommending this office, after a not so stellar appointment with another office I am glad I did. They truly care about patient needs, I received a tour of the office on my first visit, a water bottle and was offered a comfort menu with options for a warm neck wrap, essential oils, and many others. Wonderful , highly professional , friendly and very accommodating! My wife , had 2 teeth that she needed pulled asap. Our little beach towns dentists are so inundated with patients , she would have had to wait till mid November! I thought , no way .. I'll find a place !!! So we searched in Eugene and actually Oak Family Dental in Springfield came up . They said we could get in the next day ( today ) ! I thought now here's a true dentistry business that's able to truly help people out ! So we drove the 1 1/2 hors up and wow were we surprised by how nice the building was , in fact it looked new ! Inside was even better with well decorated waiting room with wonderful art on the walks and had good music playing in their lobby ! They even had cold bottled water and a commercial Keurig machine , with Peet's Coffee ( my favorite ) :) Anyway the receptionist checked my wife in and I went with her into the patients room . The Dental assistant was very friendly and was very thorough with her initial exam procedures ! She had the Dr come in and we were very adamant about potentially having both her bad teeth taken out and that we lived so far away , we just needed this done if at all possible ??? They said absolutely , we'll take care of her right away ! I stayed in the room to hold my wife's hand while this procedure occurred. The Dr and assistant were so very professional and attentive to my wife's pain levels and assured her it would t take long and they'd be extracted. Well in less than an hour both teeth were out and we went to pay the bill ! .. they gave us a 20% discount ! We thanked them and they were just so friendly and truly happy to have helped my wife ! Multiple coworkers of mine recommended Oakmont. I'm new to the area and came from a very pampered dental practice and I was happy to have a similar experience here in Eugene! The dentist was nice, but I spent most of my time with Kristin (hygienist) and she was also very nice. She has hands like a butterfly, nothing hurt even remotely, and the whole experience was almost spa like (minus those damn X-ray bites!). They're great on the phone, but really a circus of confusion, disorganization, and dishonesty. Bait-and-switch, high-pressure, bullying up-sell that would shame a used car salesman. Appointment disorganization has dentists confused about what time slots are committed to which patients for which procedures. Dentist says they'll see you tomorrow for a procedure, but staff catches you in the parking lot to inform you there's "no availability" - for the appointment you booked two months prior and drove 200 miles and booked a hotel to make. Staff lies, and denies there was ever an appointment - when even the dentist said there was an appointment. Another staffer interrupts your dealing with that to sell you a "membership" - to more confused, unprofessional, dishonest, money-grubbing con-games and incompetence. Dr McLaughlin has exceeded my expectations. He is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He has all the most recent technologies available: he was able to take a 3D cat scan of my mouth to assess the presence of infection from an old root canal and to replace my tooth with an implant - it took him about ten minutes to design the tooth himself on the computer while I sat in the chair! His staff is professional and personable. My experience of having Kayla do my teeth today was excellent. I feel very confident of receiving the very best care in his office. read more

Everyone here is incredibly kind, but the office is extremely aggressive about getting you in for unnecessary treatments. I've never had a cavity and was always told my wisdom teeth should be fine staying put - until I came here. Suddenly I needed all four wisdom teeth out and three fillings. Fortunately, covid happened right after I had my one and only cleaning here, and despite being hounded by phone calls and "reminders" for appointments I've never agreed to making (I did make two follow-up appointments, but cancelled them after the mask mandate and never rescheduled), I have not gone back. I went to a different dentist for a cleaning since I'm now vaccinated, and I do not have any cavities, nor do I need my wisdom teeth removed. If you have had generally great oral hygiene and you're told by Oakmont to drop nearly $1200 on treatments, get a second opinion! read more

Brittany was my Hygienist, we connected so well and she seemed interest to get to know me on more of a personal level which I love! Dr. John Hardy came in to see me and asked what I want most, I said I want to feel comfortable with my smile for my wedding in Oct 2020. I have faith that he will give me the smile I'm looking for! Very disheartening and traumatic experience I went in for a cleaning and a check up after not being in for a while. They started poking my gums and making me bleed without warning right off the bat. I feel like I got extremely over diagnosed when Dr. Whitney gave her examination. After they gave me the bad news, They took my blood pressure and told me it was higher than normal. Well duh, I was in fight or flight mode waiting alone for 15 minutes . The questions they asked me about myself seem like they were more for their records than to actually build a relationship. They wanted me to pay and extra $400 dollar for an added treatment in my cleaning that would require me to come back 3 times just for that one cleaning procedure. Then when I told them I couldn't do the extra cleaning thing I didn't even get my teeth cleaned, a nice place as far as the building and equipment but I did not get the care I needed. read more

I broke a tooth on Monday. I called SEVEN places. The earliest I was told was at least a week out. Oakmont was able to get me in the very next day! Unfortunately my problem was too severe for them to deal with and I had to go to endodontist for a root canal. They called multiple places for me and sent me a recommendation trying to get me in before the year ended to use my dental insurance to the fullest extent for me. I was so thoroughly impressed that they went out of their way to take care of me. I have another appointment scheduled already to get a cleaning, X-rays as well as a crown for my broken tooth! read more
