While I was lying on the table, the masseuse suddenly climbed up onto the board and began walking across my body while holding onto the ceiling for balance. She applied pressure using her feet while pushing upward against the ceiling. When she reached the center of my back, she actually jumped on my back three separate times. It didn't stop there. When she moved toward my arm, her bare foot went directly into my hand. At that moment I was extremely uncomfortable and just wanted the entire experience to be over. The next morning I woke up with my back covered in bruises. A massage should never leave someone feeling injured and shaken like this. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe or relaxing spa experience.

Helen has incredibly strong hands yet is sensitive to notice when the pressure is too intense. It was mostly a deep tissue massage with some Swedish style in areas that I requested less pressure due to injury. Helen used hot stones and suggested an upgrade to cupping on my back, which I agreed to for the $25 fee. (Be warned: it will leave you with large spots on your back for about a week as if you tangled with an octopus, but it really does help loosen up back muscles.) You can book and pay online, and they appear to be open daily. I will be returning.

I got Li Li, a small-framed, younger girl, and although I requested medium pressure, I could tell there was a lot more power lurking in those strokes, for those who like it hard. I especially liked when the forearms got involved in the massage, and it's not only the hands. Her English was good enough to carry a conversation. Prior to coming here, I had received a crappy, "swoosh" massage from a different place, and Li Li was able to wash that one out of my memory banks with an exceptionally good massage. (I coined this term "swoosh massage" for when the therapist just swooshes her hands around on your back, without ever getting any real depth into your skin. Sometimes she can get enthusiastic about it, and swoosh harder and with more vigor, but in the end it is still swoosh).
