Well, that's where you would be wrong if that's what you thought. I am a 100% disabled veteran that was attending an appointment that was made for me, by VA community care on a pre-authorization. Meaning, the doctor's office agreed to see me, the VA pays the doctor's office, and I don't (I have never) have a co-pay. I know this because I have also worked for VA that takes inbound calls from providers(offices) as well as vets(patients) making sure offices get paid and they do not try to directly bill the vets. This office tries to get you to put a card on file online when you're completing your medical history forms. I did not fill this out online either. This was two days prior to my appointment. No one attempted to call me to further request billing responsibility. Why is when I show up for my appointment 30 minutes early, this illequipped female at the front desk is insistent that I put a card on file. Even after she looks at her computer and says, "Oh, I see you don't have to pay for anything, we just need a card on file." That's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard come from someone's mouth! I know I don't have to pay for anything. The VA knows I don't have to pay for anything. You say you see that I don't have to pay for anything yet, you want me to give you a card associated with the money that I have...for what?!? It's our policy. Your office signed a legal binding agreement to accept payment from the VA to see and service veterans. You don't get to double dip or try to swindle people out of their money. I DO NOT recommend this facility for Veterans.

I was examened and released with instructions to see my primary physician for a follow up. My primary doctor was not available and I was seen by Melonie Santiago , P. A. at the Outpatient Center. P. A. Santiago was very patient and listened to all of my concerns and addressed each one in great detail. She made a couple of referrals to specialists for follow through visits to ensure that my health concerns were being monitored by doctors who specialized in the treatment for the medical issues that were of concern to me. P. A. Santiago Put me at ease with her demeanor, smile , tone and empathy all while maintaining a sense of professional decorum. I was super anxious prior to my visit after experiencing some odd symptoms that I had never experienced before. P. A. Santiago LISTENED to me and my concerns , unlike some of the other medical "professionals" with whom I have been interacting recently. Kudos to P. A. Santiago !! I felt so relieved after my visit with her and realized that I had spent 50 minutes with her in her office. I was so appreciative of her spending so much time with me allowing me to voice my concerns and of her understanding and explaining everything to me to my satisfaction. Also thankful that P. A. Santiago provided me with the 2 referrals to specialists who can continue providing me with the patient care necessary at this time. In my endeavor to cope with my anxiety I forgot to take photos. They had no record of having called me. The doctor who has taken over for her just told me she is isn't "comfortable" prescribing a psychotropic non controlled medication I've been on for 25 years!!!! This is the same doctor who refused to tell me whether I had an ear infection because she didn't want to "step on my ENTs toes."

I had a very uncomfortable, disappointing experience at the 805 Del Prado, Cape Coral location…read more Their sign-in systems were down, which I understand can happen, so I patiently stood in the designated waiting area waiting to be helped. What upset me most was not the delay -- it was the unprofessional behavior afterward. After I spoke to an employee, I could overhear comments being repeated and mocked to coworkers nearby. No patient should feel laughed at or talked about while simply trying to check in for a medical appointment. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and completely inappropriate in a healthcare setting. Technical problems are understandable. Treating patients with disrespect is not. I hope management seriously addresses professionalism and patient treatment at this location.

The people at Cay West are always friendly and professional and don't seem overworked and aggravated. I was asked to step up to the desk within 10 minutes and another 5 minutes I was in the changing room prepping for my MRI, the ladies in the MRI area got right down to business, they made sure I was comfortable asked me a few routine questions and we got to work, total time less than an hour, perfect. Rad Reg updated their portal and somehow, I ended up w/ 2 accounts. I was unable to download…read moreimages and was told to call my ofc at Cay West to have someone "merge" the accounts. I sent over 1/2 dozen emails and help request w/ NO response. I tried calling as well and there is no "person" to speak to regarding my situation with their new menus. Its the WORSE customer support experience I have had in years!
