The facility is decent as well, with a nice enough building, a parking garage, and comfortable, if not private, seating areas. The receptionists are hit or miss - some are friendly, some are curt. What really annoys me is UCI SINGLE PAYER BILLING OFFICE!!! They will HOUND you with phone calls about "what you owe" long before you ever get wind of a bill via mail or email. They leave messages, then when you call back make you wait for 20 minutes to ask them which bill they are referring to, and what date and service, and why insurance didn't cover (I'll tell you why, because they charge more than every other office in the area). Even if you view your bill on the portal, it doesn't break down what it's for - was this a facility charge? physician charge? copay? Does my plan's contract obligate me to pay this, or are they overcharging and hoping I'll pay without question? It's all so obfuscated, and good luck getting someone on the phone if you don't happen to answer when they call (which is always in the middle of a work day). I abandoned all UCI providers, talented as they are, because of their billing department.
