I needed to come in on New Years Day and they had normal working hours which was quite the relief! All the employees were very efficient and kind and listened to my concerns (lingering COVID and a second degree burn on my foot). They assured me everything was healing normally which eased my mind and I was in an out in a half hour and given some at home remedies. I was very satisfied with the care given by the PA. She was competent and caring. Very unusual for the urgent cares in this area. HOWEVER, They illegally collected a copay from me that I've been trying to get back for 3 months now. I'm sure this is a common practice after reading some of the reviews. I've repeatedly called their billing dept and have been given the same BS story every time. Now I'm reporting them for illegal practices to everyone I can. And have reported them for Medicare fraud. This is not a small provider. They have 153 ?? Locations all over the country. I wonder how many billions of dollars they've ripped off the country. They need to be held accountable! We are very satisfied by the quality of care we have received at the facility. The problem is that they charged our credit card for services that have been paid by our insurance company (which I had reversed since it was not authorized). In addition, we get bills monthly for that amount, which was more than the actual visit charge. I have called multiple times and can't seem to get it corrected. read more

I went in for a scheduled appointment and arrived early and was fortunately able to see a provider even sooner. The checking in process was easy, especially since I did also the paperwork online in advance too. After being seen by a nurse for aninitial check, the doctor came in shortly afterwards and was quickly able to assess what was the likely cause of my illness. I got a prescription, some paperwork, and was out the door within an hour of my arrival. I've been to urgent cares in the past, and it's definitely not been that quick and smooth so of course one's experience can vary, but I was very pleased with my experience here today. THE RECEPTIONIST GOT MY DEBIT CARD CANCELLED!!! I went to WellNow on Elmwood on January 30, 2025 around 6PM. The receptionist [I regret not getting her name] told me to scan a QR code on my phone to start the intake process. Cool. No problem. The app opened and I clicked the reason for my visit, but the screen did not advance. There was a green Continue button at the bottom of the screen, but I was sure it was one of those ads that you should NEVER click on. So I showed my phone to the receptionist, who said I needed to click that Continue button. I told her I didn't think that was right, but she clicked the button and a screen opened for my name and payment info. So I just assumed she was right and I was wrong. I proceeded to enter my name and payment info, only to discover that... I WAS RIGHT about not clicking on that Continue button. I had just given my debit card number to a SCAM website called MediaFyre, not WellNow!!! I panicked because I had no idea how much this MediaFyre transaction was for or who to contact to cancel it. My entire bank account could have been drained for all I knew. Then almost immediately, I RECEIVED A FRAUD ALERT FROM MY BANK! They gave me a YES option to make the transaction and a NO option to cancel the transaction. So I chose NO, but by doing so, THE BANK CANCELLED MY DEBIT CARD!! So now I have to wait 5-7 business days before I receive a new debit card. Just clicking the wrong button on an app has seriously inconvenienced me. read more

DO NOT GO TO THESE INCOMPETENTS. On Saturday, I went to get stitches removed. With my insurance, I should have paid $55 for the copay. The computers were glitchy that day. The app had me take pictures of my insurance card, plus enter in my insurance ID number. I also had to enter all my information onto Wellnow's computer pad, because I guess their receptionist's hands were broken and SHE couldn't be bothered to type in the information. Wellnow -- the one at 1597 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo -- said my insurance account was "inactivated," so I had to pay the "regular" Medicare payment of $160 ($105 more than my supposed copay). I should have left, but the stitches had to come out. The $160 came out of my bank account within 60 seconds. I had the bank app open, and I saw it happen. I called my insurance company this morning. MY ACCOUNT IS NOT INACTIVATED. I then called Wellnow. They informed me they'd have to submit the claim for the visit to my insurance company, which will take SIXTY DAYS. Only then will I get my $105 overpayment back. 60 seconds to take my money, SIXTY DAYS to get it back. I asked if I'd be getting the interest on 60 days worth of them holding onto MY $105. They said no. Wellnow gets the interest on 60 days of MY money. Do not go to these idiots. Their computers don't work, you have to do all the computer work yourself, entering in your information, and then they steal your money and hold onto it for two months. Watch a YouTube video and take out your stitches yourself. Also, the slushie machine wasn't working, but the sugary liquid was left inside the tanks, at room temperature. When *I* worked in restaurants, we had to drain the syrup and wash the tanks if the refrigeration unit wasn't working, to prevent mold growth. I wouldn't risk MY health drinking from that slushie machine. Wellnow has all my information, and could return my overpayment with the click of a button. But they'd rather hang onto it for 60 days. They could contact me, but they haven't. read more

I had to come to Well Now on Elmwood Ave in Buffalo, NY this morning. The receptionist Emily greeted me with a smile and quickly got me checked in. Jessicka the aide came in shortly and completed my vitals. She was very polite. Hannah the x-ray tech took back and did my x-ray. Hannah was also polite. The provider Rebecca was knowledgeable, she took the time to explain to me her treatment plan. I will give this urgent care two thumbs up and I will recommend this place to my family and friends. Went here on Sunday Dec 4th with an earache: pain and couldn't hear. The PA who examined me looked in my ears said it was an infection in my right ear and prescribed antibiotics. 5 days later nothing had changed. Returned and saw the same PA who looked in my ears again and then decided that it was an acute sinus infection and prescribed different antibiotics and Flonase. 10 day later, no improvement. Went to see an Ear,Nose and Throat specialist on the 19th and as soon as she looked in my right ear she said there was an earbud cushion lodged in my ear. She removed it and I had INSTANT relief. So that was 16 days of pain and hearing loss all because the PA doesn't know what an inner ear looks like. So how is it that the PA at Wellnow looked in my ears TWICE and never saw it? Returned to the Wellnow location and the PA who treated me and MISDIAGNOSED my condition was not on duty. The person in charge tried explaining that ENT's have more sophisticated equipment etc and I stopped her and corrected her that the ENT saw the earbud cover immediately with just the light on a stick thingy and removed it. She took my name and number and said that the Manager would reach out to me. That was 43 days ago and not a word from the manager. In conclusion, I would not recommend this shady operation to anyone. Amazing, quick service. Simple and to the point! I made an appointment for saturday morning. I was seen immediately, went right into a room after checking in on my phone. The nurse did her thing for a few minutes and then I had to wait for the doctor. I was okay with a "Telehealth" doctor even though i wasnt too sure what that meant. It meant a doctor Zooms in on this rolling-computer thing and sees you virtually. Weird, but honestly pretty cool. It was effective. The nurse was in there the whole time and took did what the doctor asked (like at one point the doctor wanted to look down my throat, so the nurse used a camera that the doctor could see on her end. Same with my heartbeat and listening to my lungs.) Anyways, the telehealth thing was weird but cool. I was in, out and prescribed medicine within probably 15 minutes. Clean, updated rooms. Friendly staff. Clean waiting room. My co-pay was 75$ which is steep, but i'm not sure if that's on Well-now or my insurance. One of my best urgent care experiences. 'Lead' desk clerk Wednesday 4/30/25 830am nothing less than rude and unhelpful. Couldn't understand her when I walked in and she told me to follow walk in protocol. After finishing on the app she asked for my name. After not finding my name she asked if I had a text message, which I did so I showed her. She looked up my DOB and soon said I filled out my insurance info wrong by using spaces. I told her the app asked for a photo and at no point did I enter any digits, followed up by saying it took my payment. She replied 'ya you did that wrong too!' I said to her I wasn't sure why she was raising her voice to which she calmed and took my insurance card to fix. 2 minutes later she calls me up again unable to process my BCBS ILL insurance card as it has the subscriber name on the card not me the dependent. I assured her the this is BCBS policy and all dependents use the subscriber card. Some back and forth ensued and I asked her to just call BCBs. She told me she 'had a new hire she had to train in the back and was too busy.' I told her she was absurd and not helpful at all. Here I am at a different center a few blocks away, already had my vitals taken at 920am and waiting to see a Doctor. Funny how these people had no problems helping me! read more

At 1:33, a walk on was taken back. when I mentioned that she was taken first because she threw a tantrum, the response was, "well she was waiting almost 2 hours." I responded, yes but appointments are first. Then at 1:56, they called back another walk in. it is now 2:05 and we are still in the waiting room. The experience I had at this place yesterday was awful from start to finish. When I walked in I was told no walk in service but the receptionist said she couldn't make me an appointment. I had to do it online. Came back 4 hours later for my appointment and still waited 2 hours. When I finally saw the PA. I said I'd had a cough for 3 weeks, my chest felt tight and I wanted a chest X-ray and antibiotics. Was sent to the ER for a "medical emergency" to check my heart which she wanted to call an ambulance for. (Never got the chest X-ray.) I refused the ambulance but DID go to the hospital. Had SEVERAL tests and 7 hours after that was sent home with a diagnosis of bronchitis and the antibiotics I originally requested. Bottom of the barrel!!!! Will never return!!! read more

Care and service are as expected - sometimes very long wait lines and sometimes not, but the staff is courteous and attentive. Billing, however, is a nightmare! Three months ago, there was a charge for $220 made on my HSA card. I DID NOT make the payment, and the money was charged to my card without my knowledge or consent. My immediate thought was fraud. It turns out that 16 months after a visit, WellNow charged my card without notifying me in August 2024 for a visit in January 2023. My company switched carriers at the beginning of 2024, so I disposed of my old cards, but thankfully, they have been helping me through this. My old insurance company sent and EOB to WellNow THREE times since August and they claimed they didn't receive it any of those times, and finally acknowledged it after it was sent in an email with a followup phone call. WellNow has told me so many different things, from "the situation is resolved" to "we'll credit your account for the difference" to "the check is in the mail." Three months later, I'm still waiting for resolution. I will continue to call 2-3 times a week. read more

I have been to many urgent cares over the years, but yesterday was by far, the best urgent care experience I've had. Every staff member was so kind and went above and beyond for me. They were all so so sweet, so knowledgeable, and I really felt like they actually cared. You don't always get that at other urgent care locations. I would like to thank and recognize Hannah, Deshia, Kayana, and Melissa Young as my nurse practitioner. They didn't try to rush me out, and really took the time to make sure I was okay before leaving. You guys are amazing at what you do. I assure you that you will be as impressed as I was if not more. Second time I've gone in to be turned away because the doctor had seen too many patients already, to be told I can try later. This time I had my child seen 2 days prior and was told if got worse or new symptoms to come back for a recheck. There was no one in the waiting room but the doctor was too busy prior to see patients now. I normally don't leave bad reviews, because everyone needs a break, and I understand busy, but I wouldn't have left my house to drive all that way if I didn't think it was urgent enough to be seen. An urgent care that won't see patients because they've seen too many patients before 1 pm. Luckily, I have a vehicle and was able to take her elsewhere to be diagnosed with strep and scarlet fever but imagine someone who took public transportation somewhere that's supposed to be a walk in urgent care...to be turned away...ridiculous and unacceptable. Maybe my one little opinion doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but completely disagree with this business practice...I'll go elsewhere from now on even if I have to drive further read more
