She asked questions and took my blood pressure. Felt my throat and looked in my ears to tell me I had some water and it would go away on its owe. The bill came and it was 580.00 dollars. WTF - for what - my doctor charges so much less. After insurance I still had to pay 140.00 dollars- what??? For real - That is what the appointment should have cost in total. So crazy - I will call my doctor next time.

Update: I only ended up waiting less than 10 minutes. However, when NP came out to get me she said…read more"Now that wasn't 40 minutes, was it?" In a snide tone. My visit went fine but she has a bad attitude. Went online at 6:30 am to register for my "place in ". Tried on phone and PC and there was no option to "get in line" at this location. I kept trying and figured the "line" didn't open until the location opened at 8:30. Got online at 8:33 and it said I could get a place in line and the wait was 6 minute. Since it was only a 6 minute wait I got dressed and arrived at 9:05. There are 3 people in line ahead of me with a 40 minute wait! Ugh! The nurse practitioner came out and asked me if I was the next person. I responded with "I wish". And explained to her what happened. She explained that there were already people physically in line at the store at 7:00 am so she made the online "line" unavailable until 10:00 am. This should be stated on the website. If I had known that I would have gotten dressed and come at 7:00 this morning! This online sign up is seriously flawed. Not to mention, the way the nurse explained it was condescending and she lacked empathetic customer service. I'm not sick often so I don't know the ins and outs of getting a good place in line. CVS could do a much better job of explaining the process on the website.

this CVS is solid; however, my only complaint is this bitter zara lady In pharmacy, whom is in need…read moreof much more training. WHO HIRED HER?! Her bedside manner is atrocious! Gates were closed, yet some lady was behind the counter. I gave the benefit of the doubt when i politely asked if and what time they would reopen, or if they were closed. the red signs on the wall in front of where i was standing (from the angle I was at) shows open from 8am-8pm most days. It was 12:40. I did NOT see the monitor to the left that shows they are closed from 12:30-1pm. honest mistake on my part, but to completely ignore someone genuinely asking a question... looking in my direction at me, and NOT respond at all, is beyond rude. some folks would slap this little girl for that, but Im not on that type of time. My point is, What if i someone was illiterate, and could not read? What if someone genuinely does not see a monitor that's positioned off from the direction of the pharmacy gate, such as myself? So i went to the front and politely asked the clerk if the pharmacist was deaf (to give zara some grace) The clerk at the front responds, "no", as i follow up with why I asked that to begin with. To my surprise, as I walk back towards the pharmacy to ask again, she's mouthing off about me asking if she was deaf to some counter part she's on the phone with... how are you so confident to be yapping like that behind a closed gate, like you wont open back up in 15 minutes? You dont know what kind of mood people may be in, or what they are willing to do because of your lack of acknowledgement and respect. I stepped out of my character...being self effacing, I did call her out her name for not being able to easily respond or even point in the direction of the sign (which again, i did not see until going back to the gate after asking the register lady if this zara chick is deaf. I can admit where Im wrong. I can own where I messed up, but this is the person thats in charge of dispensing medication to people?! ‍ who raised you?! yapping behind a closed gate like you're in high school. Parents definitely should've Beat you more as a child because your Bedside manner is beyond horrible. you should not be working with people and definitely should not be in charge of dispensing medications at that station on your own. Deprived is an understatement. this woman looks soulless!! And karma is a mf! it doesnt miss. It will spin the block for you weirdo. Other than that, shout out this CVS (except for this weirdo). They do a great job. It's just this heffer in back that is harming CVS's brand image.

I live in Chicago during the week for work, and have for several years, yet all my doctors are in…read moreanother city. When I can pre-plan an appointment, I have the flexibility to return to the other city for it. I really like my doctors, after many years of great relationships with them, so have chosen so far not to leave them and find new doctors in Chicago. This has worked really well so far, because I haven't been sick enough to need to see a doctor THAT DAY. This all changed a few weeks ago, when I returned from a trip to a convention with a bad case of what I figured was either bronchitis (which it was, coupled with a sinus infection) or pneumonia (which it was just starting to be). The day after my most miserable flight home (the flight was fine, but I felt lousy and was all congested and coughing, and I feel so sorry for the people who had to sit near me!), I decided I had to see a doctor, and soon. And I felt too lousy to make the three-hour trip back to see my usual family doctor. So I checked online with my insurance company to see which nearby walk-in clinics were included in our network, and was relieved to see that the CVS Minute Clinics were in-network, and that there were several nearby. I chose this one because it's about halfway between my home and office, and on my regular commuting route, so figured it would be most convenient if follow-up was needed. I tried to make an appointment online, but after first telling me I could, the app then told me this function was unavailable. I checked the app for the approximate wait time, and when I saw in the early afternoon that it had dropped from about 90 minutes to about 25, I headed out. Once there, I was only second in line, and was seen in about 30 minutes, maybe less. The check-in process was easy -- all online, using a keyboard and monitor in the waiting area. I really liked the nurse practitioner who saw me, Caitlin. She was extremely friendly and personable (even asking to see a video of my daughter's singing performance when I mentioned the purpose of the convention I'd just attended), conversed with me compassionately and intelligently about my symptoms, examined me thoroughly, and clearly explained the diagnoses and treatments (there were several of each). She sent the prescription orders directly to the store pharmacy online (after confirming with me that this is where I wanted them sent), had me use the prescribed inhaler under her supervision for the first time after I picked up the meds at the pharmacy, then re-checked some of my vitals a few minutes later to confirm that it was doing its job. In summary, I felt like I was in my own doctor's office, receiving the same excellent treatment I was used to receiving there. Two days later, I received a call from the clinician on duty, to ask if the medications were working and I was feeling better. (At the time I felt like I'd improved significantly from Monday, and told her this, but was still at home resting and recuperating trying to get over it.) This was much appreciated, and a nice touch that even my own doctor's office doesn't do. Unfortunately, as has been the case with many of my fellow convention-goer friends, I still hadn't shaken all of my illness a week after finishing the first round of antibiotics, so I ended up back at the Minute Clinic two and a half weeks after my first visit, this time seeing a nurse practitioner named Monica. She was also very nice, and very thorough, and I again felt very well cared for. I asked Monica if she and Caitlin job shared, and she explained that yes, they were the two "regulars" there, and they alternated weekends, and also had some floating NPs who filled in the extra hours. Overall, I was very, very impressed (and very pleasantly surprised) with the care I received. The only time I've used a similar facility was to get a shot for my daughter, that we found out at the last minute she needed before she started college, so I didn't have any true experience with a walk-in clinic for treating an illness. I'm sold now that this is a very viable alternative, especially when my own doctor is unavailable or is just too far away to get to. Thanks, Caitlin and Monica, for the excellent care! I'm just about back to 100 percent now, and truly grateful for your help getting me there!
