First and foremost, the 3 is for the process of claiming a cashier's check that needed to be reprocessed. It seems like there has been an influx of letters going out to people to claim money or having it forfeited to the state. I don't have a current account (I can get into that another time) with WF. So I had to go to a teller. I arrived around 1:30. I was told the next available banker to assist me regarding this issue, was available at 3:30. So I left to handle other errands. I arrived at 3:20 and Anthony called me up. He was completely transparent about having to call (an internal dept in a call center) and that it was going to take 30 minutes. I was perfectly fine with it. Seems like another person who received the same letter was told by another banker to come back another time. Let's say he was livid about having to come back another time instead of having it handled then and there. After about 30 mins, Anthony was able to get me my money, and I'm on my way. I give him 5 stars as he did all the leg work and didn't give up on making sure I was taken care of. So if you visit this branch, be kind and understanding and ask for Anthony. read more

When I get excellent service, I like to let others know. It was almost closing time and we needed to get a safety deposit box in a hurry. Anthony Lugo took the time to make sure we were taken care of. He answered all our questions and talked sports to us making us feel very welcome. Been a customer for 10 years and they won't revoke overdraft charges.. lady lied to me about not being able to turn off overdraft and just found out from someone on the phone you can. WELLS FARGO can create millions of fake accounts and commit fraud but they can't look out for the small people. I'm canceling my account here and going to find another bank. read more

Every single time I visit this location which is at least once a month, the line is nearly to the front door yet they will only have 1-2 tellers open. Every time I make an appointment with this location, it has been canceled. I walked into the branch for my appointment and the teller said no one was there to open a new account for me, and they didn't even have the courtesy to call, wasting my time. Today, I got a call 30 minutes before my appointment, telling me once again they needed to cancel. To top it off, this location never has more than one or two tellers working. Today in my mail, I received a "open new account" promo. I never even noticed that it listed my brothers name. He has never lived with me and as to why they would send that to my address, I don't know. In either case, I decided to go for it. When I arrived at the Carmen Street bank location, I checked in with the teller. A short time later a woman comes to me and asks if I need to open an account. I start to hand her the flyer and immediately she says, you won't be speaking to me. She asks do you have two forms of ID? I state I do, she then takes the flyer after all and asks about the name on the flyer. She tells me that unless that person is with me I cannot open an account. Ok, no harm, I didn't even notice it had the wrong name. The kicker to this whole thing is I handed her the flyer and asked her to throw it away. She told me no, we don't take trash here. I then notice the trash can and attempted to throw it in myself. I missed and she told me as much. She could have avoided this whole scene if she would have just taken it. What a RUDE employee! If she thinks that anyone would want to open an account after she treated me like that, hell no! I hope the upper management sees this complaint and talks to her! Today I came into Wells Fargo to cash my check and replace my card with a temporary credit card. The bank teller was extremely nice and helpful however the accountant/financial analysts Ina IMMEDIATELY began racially profiling me. I've never been asked to that extent all the questions shes asked me , and when I questioned her after I more then proved I am who I say I am she responds with " I just need to protect myself if something was wrong ". Which seems odd If you've just asked me 100 questions about my account and account information. Again I've been through this process over the phone and in person and have never been treated like this. Moving forward she goes to get the manager Rosa which then proceeds to tell me that I need to use an invalid drivers license in order to receive my temporary card when I more then offered 3 other valid forms of identification including social security card / birth certificate/ and passport! I've never been so embarrassed and singled out. Long story short I never received the card. I am a proud member of Wells Fargo since 2007. I am also a proud member of Navy Federal and do believe i will be recommending and strongly urging people to stay away from this bank. Thank Rosa and Ina! read more

Being the 23rd day without a state budget passed, I've come to rely on Wells Fargo's interest free payroll advance. If you're a state employee or plan on being one, this is great reason to go with a large, established bank. Only Wells Fargo, Bank of America and a few smaller banks have made this agreement with the state, and without it I don't know what I'd do. Such awful customer service!!! I had wells Fargo for about seven years and finally just switched banks. I got a letter in the mail threatening to send me to check systems. I called and apparently my accts that were closed in 2007 and 2010 were overdrawn. Those accts were closed due to identity thefts and I was never made aware that I owed anything. One acct was for $18 and another for $6. Had I known I would have obviously had that corrected but it's 2012 & this is the first time is been made aware. Went into the bank to pay. The person that was supposed to help me was completely clueless even after I showed him the letter. I finally had to go sit down and call the 1-800 number myself. You would think the Cust service rep would have offered to call or ask a manager. Once I got through (15 min later) the Cust service rep on the phone advised me to get in the teller line and just hand my phone to the teller. Pain! I previously had also requested a new debit card and after my 5th time going in the branch and requesting it, I finally received one. It's been one thing after another. I know no bank is great but the customer service here is lacking severely. After seven years I couldn't deal with the incompetence any longer. I recommend looking elsewhere for a bank. read more

I have two accounts with Wells Fargo. One is a regular checking/savings account and the second an investment account. The customer service for the regular day to day banking is great. However, the investment services have been very poor. Wells Fargo's so called "professional adviser" did not only excel with bad communications but showed a fundamental lack of investment knowledge and financial markets in particular. There was no broad knowledge or vision in regards to fiscal policy or economic conditions. One glowing example was the Fed's intention of tapering off QE3 and the rising interest rates causing many investors to flee the bond market. WF Advisor still recommended long term bond funds with restrictions and early selling penalties - not even talking about possible large losses in principal. To make matters worth, no strategy for damage control other than hold and loose even more! As a traditional bank and lender I give Wells Fargo 5 Stars - as financial advisor a 1 Star rating is flattering. Based on my experience I can only caution potential investors to watch out - WF Advisor is certainly not going to do it... read more

I have tried to open a checking/saving account for the last few weeks for my kids... today was my 4th time at this location, and each time I have been told something different!! ( bring a birth certificate .. no you only need a student ID, no they should have told you you need the child's social security card.. and today.. oh sorry, the child needs to be with you !?! WTF!?!! The worst customer service I have ever encountered. If at all possible do not use the Carmen branch. Rude and they don't help you with banking needs. I wanted to exchange some US dollars to Mexican pesos and they couldn't do it because the head teller was out to lunch. So now another trip to the bank when the teller is there. The service here is out standing. I have not met a more friendly group of people at a bank since I left Fresno. They have a coffee machine which has many different types. If the lines get to long, the managers come by and help prepare deposit and with draw slips. They also offer water and candy right as you walk in. I also saw a manager help a lady with her children, he asked them about there Christmas wish list as mom talked to the counter person. read more

If you are planning on doing a wire transfer at this branch, get prepared for paying 35 bucks to fill out a piece of paper and have them tell you we'll "we'll get to it". Then 5 minutes before the submission deadline of 1:30pm you'll get a phone call saying that something on the form isn't right and the wire didn't go through. At Bank of America in Thousand oaks the same procedure is assisted every part of the way by a teller who fill out the form for you on the computer (no ink necessary) and tells you if the wire account numbers are correct and good to submit. He will also give you a confirmation number and official receipt, not just the carbon copy of some form. read more

I have been a Merchant (business) customer of Wells Fargo since 1992 (checking/savings). I have probably run several $M through WF over that time period. I cannot begin (without swear words) to describe the insensitive, calloused and unconcerned attitude I consistently receive from this branch. The only reason I have tried and tried with this branch is because it is near my home. They do not care that I have been a loyal customer for over 22 years! They always yak at me about useless trivia when I bank there and it usually results in them making an error (point of fact they shorted my deposit last Friday by $600. They charge outrageous rates for international wire transfers and NEVER offer to comp me ANY fees. I won't go back - I'm done and I may just open a new business account elsewhere... read more

Was in there a few months ago, and they told me I could open a free student checking account. Attempted to set up their "quick and convenient online account, and was told it would take a grand total of 15+ business days to get my account active, and that it wouldn't actually be free student checking, just discounted. This is the branch that's supposed to handle foreign currency. We've used it for three years, but each year the service level goes down. After promising (each year) that the currency will appear within 2-3 business days (and being told that by three different employees), the foreign currency "manager" now says that 7-9 days is a better estimate. They needed "more confirmation" that I was a customer - which I offered on my first phone call, and which they refused to write down. They had my phone number (given twice), but eventually lost it. This error (which they keep claiming is "not their fault," is costing us $120 - which is not in and of itself a very big deal, but the attitude of it's "not our fault," it's the "currency dealer's fault" is very irritating. If it sometimes or often takes 7 days to get currency, then don't tell people over and over again it's 2-3 days. Our home branch cheerfully promises currency in 7 days, I was hoping for faster service by going directly to the branch with "foreign currency services." Stick to your local branch, allow extra time, and don't trust WF "special services" in Camarillo. Everyone but the currency manager person was polite, but very short - and phone calls were not returned. read more
