First time ever leaving negative review, not something I'm comfortable doing, but thought it might help me in this situation. My eldest brother passed away in January of this year from cancer while living in California. I'm residing in NJ and having been flying out to wrap up his estate. While in the process of taking care of his affairs, received a letter from Wells Fargo about renewing his safety deposit box. This was news to me because he did his banking with Bank of America. Which I would rate a 4 for the way they helped me. I contacted the division of estate planning at Wells Fargo and filled out all the appropriate paper work (beginning of April) and they said I just then needed to mail in a payment for a locksmith to open the box, and then they would send me the contents,. I did send the check and along with the payment a letter to the Bank Manager and asked for him to reach out to me once received. I have not heard back from the gentleman, called 4-5 times, emailed and have called back estate planning office and they have tried to reach the manager to no avail. At this point I figured this might help. I would like to finish this because it's difficult dealing with this and just would hope that when they say sorry for your loss, that actually meant something. If someone could reach out and help me, I would greatly appreciate it. read more

Working remote requires me to make deposits on occasion. My commercial banker gave me a business ATM card. Thank goodness. Made my day job so much easier! You can deposit up to 50 checks with one transaction. Plenty of parking and no waiting in line! And, I feel much safer here! read more

The Manager at this branch is rude and defensive. She'd tell me how I have done things wrong in different visits to this bank. "You should have open the CD account at this branch" instead of doing it online. She spoke to the teller, "This customer does not provide us enough info..." when the teller cannot locate my CD account from my debit card. The two Wells Fargo branches in San Rafael provide better service and Citibank, N.A. offers better CD rates. Even after the credit fraud, I stayed with Wells Fargo. Not any more. read more

I opened my first WFB account at the Pacific Ave. branch in Stockton, CA in 1974. I have been with them ever since except for three years in the nineties when I lived in Missouri. I had two encounters at this branch last week that have caused me to take my personal savings elsewhere. The personal banker I dealt with was condescending, duplicitous, and manipulative. I was told over the phone that my request was "simple" and would take "10 minutes." I arrived with the information I was told was necessary to complete the transaction. Once that information was plugged into the system the goal posts quickly began to move. The banker expressed surprise that much more information was needed. Numerous questions were asked that had little or nothing to do with what I had been assured was a simple transaction. I was told these were due to "state and federal regulations." I refused to go any further and was told: "we'll complete this with what we have." And it was done. So much for "state and federal regulations." The manager of the branch also became involved. I fully agree with what Kelly L. says in her review of this same branch posted 8/4/23. This manager needs a major attitude adjustment. After 30 minutes I had had enough and ended the meeting. By the close of the next business day I had moved all of my savings to another institution and am in the process of closing the account. Earlier this month the WSJ had a front page article saying that of the country's four major banks, WFB is at the bottom in earnings. If these two employees are indicative of their branch managers and personal bankers their place at the bottom is well earned. As Theart P. wrote in his review of 12/22/17, I too will file a formal complaint with WFB HQ. I have avoided using their names in this review but won't hesitate to do so in my formal complaint. But realistically, I don't expect that anything will come of it. WFB has lost the business of the native Californian and long time customer forever. read more

I had what was the most absolutely rude experience at bank in my life. Monica, a manager at the Corte Madera branch was unbelievably rude, condescending and extremely unprofessional. I almost can't believe it happened but it did. She offered zero customer service during my 25+minute wait and was only combative during our interaction. As a result of this experience with Monica, Wells Fargo lost me for a customer forever. I highly recommend those reading this to do business elsewhere if you're in the Town Center and avoid this horrible branch. This experience was unacceptable at every level. I sincerely hope Monica is reprimanded by her supervisor Zach for her unprofessional behavior. I've already filed a formal complaint with WF corporate about her unacceptable conduct on December 22nd. Avoid this branch altogether. I plan a follow up visit to this branch to meet with Zach to further discuss my experience in detail. read more

Terrible -- avoid. I went in this week to have my debit and credit cards reissued in my married name. Simple, I would think, right? This is the second time I have tried to make this happen, so I was hoping I would not have to revisit the issue a third time. Ha. Hahaha. I chatted with a banker named Charles who told me he could help reissue my debit card, he'd fax a form to the credit office to have my credit card reissued, he'd make sure I had access to our shared checking account, etc etc. Great! No. Not only did I not gain access to the correct accounts via ATM or online, Charles managed to cancel my existent debit card and report it as lost or stolen. I discovered this immediately when I attempted to withdraw cash from the ATM at the very same branch and my card was rejected. I walked back inside, not five minutes after my initial interaction, and spoke to a manager. She could not un-cancel my card, but offered to rush me a replacement debit card, 2 business days. I explained that Charles had already ordered a new card in my new name, and asked if she could rush that. Yes, she said she could. I just got an email from WF saying my new card shipped and I should have it in 10 business days. Beyond useless. read more

Gave me a fake $100 bill. Now it's my word against theirs. Life tip when banking at ANY branch: Tell them to run their big bills even if it's just a one, $100 bill to make sure. It's what I'll be doing from now on. I go to this branch because it's walking distance to from my job and will have to keep banking here if I'm ever in a pinch for time, unfortunately. I went in after work because I needed to withdraw $500 from my account and the teller gave me one old $100 bill and 4 new ones. I double checked to make sure I received the correct amount and went on with my day but as I was depositing my cash at a different bank, the teller informs me that the old bill was fake and she had to confiscate my bill to send to the federal reserve! So now, I'm out $100 and it's now my word against theirs which I will have to wait till Monday to get everything situated. Now, I'm not starving but $100 is a big deal for me! I would have probably hesitated to write this review if it were a $10 or $20 bill but $100 is like a meal for 4 at a sushi restaurant + tip, or half of bottle service and a booth at an mid grade lounge, or 5 months worth of haircuts, or a phone bill, or Starbucks coffee for a month, or 100 corn dogs at Safeway, etc, etc! Also the few times I've banked here, the tellers were rude and had this superiority complex about them so negative stars for the horrible customer service as well! This was a hard lesson but I will ask every teller to run the cash through their cash counting machine AND will never take old bills again. Unfortunately, I'm too trusting and being naive in thinking that a person who works with cash all day would know how to spot a fake bill. Their incompetence and my unfamiliarity with fake money isn't a good mix. read more

I have been with Wells Fargo since 2013 and always feel this is my all-time favorite branch of all! Whenever I walk in the door the Tellers, Bankers and Managers are always willing to help with whatever needs you require! I went in to close a savings account that was charging me monthly, which is not ideal for a college student. They were SO nice, helped me quickly and immediately sat me down with Krista, a banker who helped me to close my extra account no questions asked. When she saw that I had been charged, she offered to call the branch that had originally opened my account to credit me for the account fees. What?! In addition, when she couldn't get a hold of the branch manager, she took the initiative to take care of it herself later in the day and said she would call me to let me know when it was taken care of. Probably a training branch, and there are about 2 nice teller agents who are awesome BUT to do any business banking (I.e., wires) you get some pretty lazy staff. Every single time I come in to do a domestic wire from the same account to another major bank I get the same run around and takes forever with the staff asking me how their staff did it last time. If it wasn't for the convenience of their location, I'd stay clear of this branch. Plan on a transaction taking longer than normal. read more

This bank made me feel like a criminal today... I went in to cash a check written to me by a friend. I thought it would be more convenient to go there, because it's closer than my bank is to where I work. They asked me 20 questions, "why don't you bank with is" & "has this person ever written you a check before?". A manager came to ask me questions & then they left with the check & my ID to "verify" the check... for over 5 minutes. Long story short they wouldn't cash it! My friend - who wrote the check reached out to me an hour later & said "WF has been calling & said they had a fraudulent check! I told them that it wasn't fraudulent & I'm so sorry for the inconvenience ". This is why I will never bank with them! read more
