Their website, which previously allowed messaging and appointment scheduling, has not been functioning for months. On several occasions I have had to go to the ER or urgent care simply because I could not reach my primary care doctor--who is supposed to be the first point of contact. When Dr. Emil was overseeing everything, the service was excellent; he is a great doctor. However, without proper access and communication, the quality of care is lost. I have since switched to another provider who is actually available to answer a call when needed. I hope this office can resolve these issues and return to the professional standard they once had, rather than continuing the current trend of being unavailable and overcapacity.

I'm very confused by a doctor's office that doesn't have the basic tests available to diagnose illnesses - It seems like this would be an integral part of the job. The last thing Is that they told me they could do an in-house breast ultra sound with their technician because I had had some irregular results in the past and didn't want to go all the way to Beverly Hills to see my regular breast doctor. Like most of his other patients, I can say without hesitation that I consider him and Peggy to be a part of my extended family. I will never forget receiving an unprompted call from Dr. H late in the evening many years ago after they learned of a sudden health crisis that my parent suffered. Thankfully, my parent's crisis eventually resolved; but that brief check-in from Dr. H touched me deeply. I knew that I was not alone and that he genuinely cared. Unheard of in modern medicine, when you call their office after-hours and connect with the emergency line, the phone rings at Dr. H's house. They trust their patients not to abuse that access; but the small number of times that my family needed it, Peggy and Dr. H were on the other end of the line, providing useful information and reassurance, even at 4AM. My experience as a patient of Dr. H's played no small role in my own journey towards becoming a physician. I often find myself trying to recall one of his totally unique and pithy one-liner jokes when I need to break the ice with a new patient. They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again! It's not too uncommon for a doctor to be lobbying certain medications as he/she is directly affiliated with the research somehow or other financial incentive. Oh, and btw, they still have to disclose that too. However, the doctor advocating non-medication based vitamins (which comically, he wrote on prescription form to the pharmacy which does not carry it) is LOL funny. Don't believe me? Here is exactly what he wrote: B complex 100 mg1 tablet/1 a day Potassium Iodine 32.5 mg once a week Hyuluronic acid 100 mg/1 a day Stinging Nettle 480 g 1/day Boswillia 250 mg 1 a day Vit C 1 gm 1 a day Iron 28 mg 1 day for month Omega 3 1000 mg 3x day after meals Vitamin D3 5000 mg 1 tablet a day. On sat. and sun. 2 tablets. I have to ask, whether or not Rotman is receiving any sort of compensation for these sorts of lobbying, or any other sort of financial kickbacks. Next, there are some suspicious activity in the office, and the management (what management? is so inefficient, I've had faster service in Emergency rooms than a routine visit for an x-ray analysis. I kid you not, I waited over an hour for the doctor to simply say "X-ray's show nothing wrong with right leg." Oh, but maybe they were running late, and their caseload was disproportionately high. But, there were only two people ahead of me with no one in the waiting room? Over an hour for that? Seems so inefficient. Receptionists are unfriendly and unknowledgeable about professional protocols. They answer the phones, callously by saying "Doctor's office?" Vague, much? Also, did I mention that Dr. Rotman, who saw me a total of three times, and had my charts, did not know who I was. He even misplaced my ultrasound. I understand that I have mediCAL, and theoretically, I don't "pay" any of it except what is withheld from my paycheck, and my taxes (So if clearly do pay for it), but I'd venture to say any other place certainly would be far better than this.
