Dr. Bhakta has been my dentist for over 5 years, since I moved to CA from Chicago. I have had A LOT…read moreof dental work completed in his Downey office, and I decided after my last appointment that I should dedicate some time to write a review. From regular cleanings to filling replacements to crown replacements to bleaching services, he has always done an amazing job. I have never been happier with the way that my smile looks. He is extremely knowledgeable and up to date with the safest most conservative treatment option. Here's an example of how he chooses the best treatment option for you- my former dentist told me that the best approach to fixing my "leaky fillings" was to just replace them with crowns. When I moved and switched to Dr. Bhakta, he explained that it is better to keep as much of the natural tooth as possible, so he would just replace the fillings one by one. I know getting fillings replaced cost much less than getting a bunch of crowns. Not to mention it is a little more time consuming... That is how I know he had my best interest at heart. So, I had him fix every problem I have had with my teeth over the span of a couple years. Now, I only trust him with any dental work that I need done. Currently, I live in Redondo Beach, and it is a far drive out to either of his offices. However, the treatment I receive is well worth the commute. I definitely recommend Dr. B!!

Included is also emails between us, showing they were dismissive of me. I've never text, called or shown up at their office. I've only contacted them through emails so I have a record or third parties such as the BBB. They refused to mediate with the BBB and the agent told me Drs Tan and Yeo stated they were "afraid for their lives" and "needed police protection against me" furthering dangerous Black stereotypes. Highly Recommend! I…read morerecently broke a front tooth while dining at a restaurant - one of four upper front teeth that I'd had crowns put on 23 years ago. Though I'd known I was due to get my crowns redone anyway, the dentist that did my last crowns had long since retired, and I was at a loss as to where to go. Without going into great detail, those crowns I'd gotten 23 years ago were replacements for crowns that were less than a year old...that I was never happy with. With that history, and that lesson learned, I was now looking for a dentist who specialized in Cosmetic Dentistry. After some research I began making calls, eventually calling the office of Daniel Charlton, DDS, the Beverly Hills Dental Arts Studio. Getting through to Dr. Charlton's dental assistant, Eva, I explained about my broken tooth, the crowns that I needed to have redone, and I told her about my previous "bad crowns" experience. After listening Eva assured me "I really think you should meet with Dr. Charlton. He's incredibly detail oriented, and he does amazing work". With that, I went ahead and made an appointment. Cutting to the chase...I still thank my good fortune for having made that call. From my first meeting with Dr. Charlton I could not have been more comfortable or more impressed. "Detail Oriented" doesn't begin to tell the story. From the way the office blocks out time for their patients, to the technologies Dr. Charlton employs in his practice, to his checking and double checking to make sure everything is "just right" - it's clear that Cosmetic Dentistry is both Dr. Charlton's specialty - and his passion. Even the "temporaries" I had to wear for a few weeks looked terrific! Through every step in the process, I found Dr. Charlton to be unhurried and 100% engaged - listening to my concerns, understanding my preferences, then laying out my options (explaining the various pro's and con's). As important as a great outcome was to me, I never had a moment's doubt it was at least as important to Dr. Charlton. And in the end, I wound up with exactly the great outcome - and nice smile - I'd been hoping for! Bottom line: I couldn't be happier with my choice of Beverly Hills Dental Arts Studio, and I can't recommend Dr. Charlton and his team more highly. For my first visit they did full x-rays and a really amazing 3D scan of my teeth. At most dentists you have to just take their word that you have issues, since most of us can't tell what's what on an x-ray. Here, Dr. Memarian showed me the scan and I was able to actually SEE the issues with my current fillings and my broken tooth. As someone who is neurodivergent and has sensory issues when my teeth are being scraped by sharp instruments for an hour, I was overwhelmingly surprised when my very kind dental hygienist pulled out an ultrasonic descaler for my cleaning. It took half the time, didn't hurt and while the sound wasn't the best, it was MUCH better than the sound and feeing of my teeth and gums being scraped roughly. This is the first time I've left a dental office for a cleaning without my TMJ being exacerbated and whole mouth throbbing in pain. If you'd like a kind, caring experience at the dentist and want the most current, up to date tech like an ultrasonic descaler for your cleaning, I'd highly recommend California Smile Maker. Because of my experience I'm not anxious about my next dental cleaning for the first time ever.
