Both Planetarium show and Mansion tour are add-ons for an additional charge and subject to availability. Currently, the operating hours for Saturday and Sunday are 11:00 am to 5:00 pm with last admission at 4:30 pm. Summer hours begin Saturday, June 27: Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with last admission 4:30 pm. When I arrived on Sunday around 11:00 am, there were already a good amount of cars in the parking lot but there is still plenty of spots. We walked over to Planetarium/Admissions and showed our digital pass. The staff were very friendly and gave us a map to show us what we have access to with general admission yellow wristbands. General Admission includes access to the Vanderbilt Mansion (including the Habitat and Stoll Wing animal dioramas, and natural-history and cultural-artifact galleries in the Memorial Wing), The Hall of Fishes marine museum, Planetarium exhibits, and the grounds and gardens. It was really cool to walk around and check out the mansion. The main entrance is a cobble-stone driveway and a bell-tower looms above. This leads you to the central courtyard and I felt transported to a different country. With its ironwork, red tile roof and central courtyard, the mansion's Spanish architectural style stands out. Mr. William Vanderbilt spent over thirty years on scientific expeditions aboard his 250-foot yacht, the Alva, bringing back over 17,000 varieties of marine specimens. The marine and natural history museum is filled with the figurines of underwater creatures. We also met and spoke with the staff inside the mansion. They were very informative and friendly. The Vanderbilt Museum is definitely worth visiting.

I thought everyone lived in these mansions with manicured gardens. Now add rock music and a laser show? Yes, sharks with freakin' laser beams shows! I remember coming here on a date with my girlfriend (now wife) in the 90s and seeing a Pink Floyd laser show. I was a little perturbed because they only played New Pink Floyd. Brah, I wanna rock out to MONEY! My wife, bless her heart, bought us two tickets to see the Van Halen laser show. All these years later, we're back. And trust me, I'm still impressed with the beauty of the property. We walk down the hill to the actual planetarium. There's a couple of stoners on line, if they keep quiet during the performance then no one is gonna have problems. The theater is shaped like a circle, there's no bad seats. The doors close and for an hour, I had Van Halen music crankin'! The actual show, the lasers seem a little dated. I went to The Sphere in Vegas a few months ago, this is old technology. But, it's on Long Island and people still enjoyed the shows. 3.5 Yelp stars

We definitely procrastinated as we waited till 3 weeks before our wedding to set up lessons, however that did not seem to be an issue for the people at the Ballroom of Huntington. They heard about our time constraint and immediately worked with us to get us into the studio as soon as possible. They are open late which is beneficial for our schedule. We were paired with Dennis who is an angel of a human being. He is a great teacher and was able to create choreography for our first dance and make it unique. He was very accommodating and even came in on a Sunday when the studio is closed to get us an additional lesson. By the end of our 4th lesson, we were ready to perform at our wedding and we only wish Dennis was there to witness it as I know he would have been very proud of us. The studio itself is a large space, however everyone practices in the same space regardless of if you are there for a group lesson or private lesson. It didn't make much of a difference to me and it provided us with a little audience. They have a great speaker system so they can play whatever song you want for your dance. The cost was on the higher end for what I expected, but I don't know what the cost of private lessons normally runs. Ultimately, we are very happy with our decision to use Ballroom of Huntington to learn our first dance.

I was in line with my friends when I tried to hand the bouncer my ID. He got aggressive with me, told me to "get out of his face," separated me from my friends, and let another group in front of me. I apologized, confused, and he said I was "f-- pissing [him] off." He pretended to let me in. When I put my hand on the door handle, he grabbed my neck from behind and started screaming "let go of the door!" I hadn't even made the connection yet that it was the BOUNCER at the point he (and his two coworkers) pulled back so hard that the door broke and swung the wrong way on its hinges. I tumbled through three metal barriers and was bruised pretty bad but thankfully had no major injuries. I attempted to contact both the bar and the security company but both led to a dead end as I was stonewalled each time. Looking at the other reviews, it seems their behavior has not improved, as another user mentioned being cussed at and spit on. I'm writing this to let you all know the risks of going to this establishment so you don't walk into the same situation I did. The crab cake was delicious. The calamari was ok. Restaurant has a limited menu, but enough selection in the few menu choices. When it came to main entrees sadly, they were out of lobster ravioli and lobster mac & cheese. The beef Wellington was a bit dry and overcooked (not medium rare as ordered) and plain-looking as it was sitting alone on the large plate. Desserts were excellent.
