It seems my review was removed, so I'll say this again. TL;DR: In November, a bouncer assaulted me before I could even get in the front door. I have not went out again since. I was in line with my friends when I tried to hand the bouncer my ID. He got aggressive with me, told me to "get out of his face," separated me from my friends, and let another group in front of me. I apologized, confused, and he said I was "f-- pissing [him] off." He pretended to let me in. When I put my hand on the door handle, he grabbed my neck from behind and started screaming "let go of the door!" I hadn't even made the connection yet that it was the BOUNCER at the point he (and his two coworkers) pulled back so hard that the door broke and swung the wrong way on its hinges. I tumbled through three metal barriers and was bruised pretty bad but thankfully had no major injuries. I attempted to contact both the bar and the security company but both led to a dead end as I was stonewalled each time. Looking at the other reviews, it seems their behavior has not improved, as another user mentioned being cussed at and spit on. I'm writing this to let you all know the risks of going to this establishment so you don't walk into the same situation I did. The bar is great but the management needs to hire a new company for their security, Max Security employs the most unprofessional people, maybe not even trained correctly. I was enjoying a drink with my friend and fiancé in the bar table area and was asked to move closer into the bar area so we did with no argument as it's a non event, then for no reason the untrained bouncer has 6 other untrained bouncers surround me and my fiancé, the little untrained bouncer called her a bit*h then proceeded to spit at me, all for us doing nothing more then quietly drinking in the bar area, like really??? We were there to see the talented original music band "Resist the Temptation" and they did not disappoint. The band was energetic, inspiring, explosive, and uplifting. Nice addition to the village lineup! I'm glad the Paramount made such a cool bar with this space. It's HUGE! I'm not sure where to start since this place brings alot to the table. HUGE bar...and they let you write on the chairs with sharpies!! Nice big room in the back with TVs and sofas as well as an outdoor area. They offer up free popcorn and mnm's which is a nice touch. They also have a bunch of board games. The star of this show is the bathroom...make sure you check it out! Blew my mind at first but It's pretty cool. The bartenders and managers are super friendly. I'm going to absolutely concur with Stephanie K below. This new place crushes it on so many levels. At first glance, I was taken back (in a good way of course) by the sheer expansiveness of the space. As you walk in and get closer, you quickly realize the amount of work that was put into every single detail. It's seems like such a versatile and multi-functioning environment; there's a huge bar in the front and what seems like an even bigger event space/art gallery in the back. Discovering all of the interesting and well-thought-out details is all part of the fun experience there so I won't ruin any surprises. I will however just say... even if you don't have to use the restroom, definitely at least check it out! At the moment, they don't serve food but they allow you to bring or order-in. They even keep a binder full of menus from great local restaurants. I love that! It's details like that which show that while they are a gorgeous bar with exquisite taste, they aren't pretentious and don't take themselves too seriously. I can totally so see myself throwing my 33rd birthday here next year. Who knows, perhaps I'd be able to show off my own artwork while all of my closest friends and family gather under one with, drinking and laughing the night away. Definitely one of the cooler places to open in Huntington in a long while. Upscale and spacious, this is an awesome place to come after a show or just for a night out. Industrial or steampunk in style, Spotlight is very different on so many levels. From the large sitting area in back to the repurposed lathe acting as a beer tap, the whole feeling you get when you enter and grab a drink is very relaxing and classy. Serve yourself some snacks in a cup from a cool wall mounted dispenser or draw a picture on a white board and leave a message about your adventures as you place your mark on the bar. Adult themed coloring books for those that feel creative and a neat outdoor area out back to grab a breathe of fresh air. Really think that they'll enjoy many years of success here. read more

So a group of us Yelpers were looking for a place to grab a drink after an event and stumbled upon Spotlight, and man, was this a Yelpers' paradise. Snacks, art, booze, a wacky bathroom. I'm here for it. Atmosphere: this spot is art gallery meets bar. You can write on the chairs, there's a huge canvas you can draw on. They have coloring books, Etch A Sketches, a bathroom that has a mirror image of itself on the ceiling (trust me, use the bathroom). The bar was super interactive, I had a blast poking around every bit of the place. Drinks: they had a great selection of beers on tap (lots of locals, gold star!), tons of liquors too. A little bummed they didn't have a cocktail menu, but hey, the spot's brand new. Food: so they don't serve proper food (although they have a "take-in" binder for places that deliver) but they do have A SNACK WALL. You heard me. A snack wall. Today they had peanut M&M's, cheese balls, popcorn, goldfish, cheez-its, guys I was amped. Staff: guys, they were super sweet. It was a slow night (a Tuesday) so we got to chat with the staff and they were so nice and excited to see what this space would become. Overall Impression: This place was just fun. Come in and color, play with the sequins wall, draw on the chairs, eat cheese balls. But definitely, make sure you use the bathroom. read more

Spotlight is seriously the coolest new place in town. I love everything about it. I walked past here on the way out of a hair appointment a few weeks back and the bright yellow colored seats and spotlights hanging from the ceiling caught my eye. I was intrigued, what is this place! It popped up out of nowhere and it looked like I great time. Finally I had a chance to come inside and it was everything I thought it would be and more. They had the entire space decorated for Halloween, but not just decorated, it was an experience. This place is not just a bar, it's like an event. You'll see. So we came in and grabbed two seats at the bar. It was a Saturday around 2:30 and the bar was pretty full. I love the space so much, it's just right up my alley in terms of the exposed brick, seating, bright colors, big televisions and so on. They have a fantastic beer selection and of course, mango white claws, hallelujah to the basic B in me, I will never change, white claws are life. So, I notice there's a back area and inquire with the bartender about what's back there and she said to go check it out. Guys, so freaking cool. I don't want to spoil it for you but it was, like I said, an EXPERIENCE. Huge back room with swanky couches, more seating, an outdoor space with a high top seating area and other surprises, SO much room for activities. Then I went into the bathroom. Again, an experience. You cannot come here without checking out their bathroom. It was bizarre and trippy, crazy. Loved it. They had huge dispensers along the wall filled with bar snacks, again, just the coolest. They don't serve food here but the bartenders were very much supporting the idea of going to get food and bringing it back so that's what we did. We grabbed food from a few spots across the way, brought it back and didn't feel weird eating it at the bar at all. I would 100% come here to watch football on Sundays, 100% come here for day drinking on a Saturday, 100% would come here at night. It was such a cool place, the bartenders were attentive and nice. I used to spend a lot of time and money at Spotlight, but will not go there again. Before it was a requirement by the state government, or required by any of the excellent restaurants and bars on the same block as Spotlight, they put a sign on their door and their website (see photo) requiring a vaccine passport. I am not open to letting a bar make health decisions for me, or leave it to a food vendor to check if I have had my latest booster. Let me be clear, this was a voluntary action by Spotlight to make this requirement. It was not inflicted on them. This was solely the decision of ownership If I am notified that this policy has been permanently retracted, I will remove this review. But I won't go back to Spotlight based on this action. read more

This place was okay, I would say it is a place that is good for drinks. I had the Turkey burger and was underwhelmed, however, my friends had the chicken sandwich and thought it was really good! The spicy margarita that I ordered was very good! The main hostess was extremely rude on multiple occasions and other friends have told me the same. However, all other staff including the servers, bartenders and security were super friendly. It's nice that they have live music outside which makes for a good atmosphere for drinks with friends. read more

This is a pretty great place for Long Island, located right in Huntington Village. The best thing about them is the pop culture/artist vibe and live music they frequently have. There was a kiosk-type thing that allowed you to take pics, though I'm not sure they still have it. Best for groups and events. It's not always easy to get seating with ongoing Covid and you frequently need reservations on weekends ahead of time. I haven't eaten much of the food, but the bar food like burgers, pretzels were pretty standard. read more

Went there last night September 18, 2021 to watch a rock band. Got to the Spotlight bar to have a couple of beers. Met by a female bartender with attitude and not very friendly. Overprice beer $9 for 16oz with lots of head. This band we went to see wasn't a big name but they were OK. Tickets were only 10$ on line. Instead of buying them online figured it would be easier buying them at the box office rather than logging in, passwords etc. Box office was charging around 40$ a ticket. So I bought two online for $30 total including fees. Went inside. Place was 30% full at best. Bought a beer and a pretzel. Same beer I had outside for 9$ now 15$ and 5$ for a smedium pretzel (20$ for beer and pretzel!). Just felt bottom line that the Paramount was price gouging trying to make up for lost income secondary to Covid. read more

Went to this place weekend before Halloween and LOVED what they did here! The vibe is art gallery meets bar. The artist they have featured for Halloween did a great job making the place super spooky. They also had hired actors that were dressed up to scare people and they totally added to the full experience. It was definitely the best spot to go to for all the Halloween feels. Drinks were well made. My lowkey favorite part of the whole place was the little free snack area. They have multiple canisters filled with different snacks up for grabs, peanut butter pretzels, peanut m&ms, etc. Nice little touch. I love that the bathrooms here are gender neutral, although the line can get long because there are only two. One last thing I really loved was that they have a small outdoor area for people who wanna grab some air or go for a little smoke if that's your thing. I'm excited to see how the place evolves over time and the different artists they feature. Really glad this place opened up! Will definitely be back. read more

Went to see a solo guitar act and the music from the other venue in the building completely bled through. Maybe a full band couldve competed? But instead there was just raver bass lines interrupting soulful guitar-picking. The music sounded better on the sidewalk pumped straight from the artist's mic feed-- the artist even acknowledged it, joking "should have done a live stream". Unbelievably disappointing. The venue did give me a refund which I appreciated. But the time driving to the show and the hotel money I cant get back. And I cant wait to see my favorite artist at a proper venue. read more

I came here for the first time last week just for some drinks. I saw it was spacious and half inside half outside, which has always seemed inviting to me. They were playing great music and the vibe was fun. The drinks were made well too. I came back for dinner this week and loved the food as well. I ordered the veggie burger (tweeked it a bit). The fries are an absolute must! We even ordered more because they were perfect. The bathrooms were wild as well; the sink took me by surprise for sure (I urge you to check it out!) Our waitress was great and even though our orders were on the picky side, she got it all right. Definitely will be coming back in the near future. With all of that being said, I was alarmed about other guests inside the dining area. I kid you not, these older men were doing "whippets" from whipped cream cans and running around the dining area and slamming the bar. I found myself concerned and confused as to why an establishment would let this happen, and why no one had told them that it is inappropriate and unacceptable to be do things like this in a public space. This is the only reason I gave four stars and not five. However, this has nothing to do with the establishments food or drinks. I would hope the owner/managers see this post and make sure these things would be taken care of in the future. I wanted to feel more comfortable sitting there, but it was very off putting to be witnessing such a thing with no member of staff to put an end to it. Absolutely horrible service last night. Arrived, waiting for a friend at the bar. The guy at the bar did not even say hello or anything - i then asked him if he could get me a drink after 5 minutes of waiting (not busy) and he then pointed to the other girl working the bar ( long blonde curled hair with a hat on) so I assumed he was a bar back - literally 10 minutes go by, nothing- they are busy flirting in the corner, laughing - girl is talking to her waitress friend, the guy and girl bartenders start dry humping each other playing around looking ridiculous - then sure enough the guy finally comes to me and gets me a drink! Why couldn't he get me one in the first place! - my friend arrived like 20 minutes after and the same experience for her.... Extremely rude unprofessional service! I have considered the paramount a staple of Huntington and believe one of the owners even lives in my childhood home... I was saddened when the manager of the spotlight chose to take my check out of my hand and push me out of their side door as I was walking to say goodbye to someone. I went back and when I spoke to the manager he acted as though I had refused to pay me bill and no apology for putting his hands on a lady. This bar is so different from any other bar I've ever been too! They turned the bar into a haunted house which was such a great idea! They have actors and actresses walking around scaring you which was so much fun to watch and get scared. Their should definitely be more bars like this one! This is literally the SPOT to go to when in Huntington. Everything was on point. Abby, the hostess, greeted us so kindly and definitely set the tone for the evening.The food and drinks were perfect.
