Dirty, Dirty, Dirty, dirty. Bad service, rude workers, oh and it's DIRTY! - this was my original tip. Since I wrote this Wendy's did a complete facelift of the restaurant, and it appears to be much cleaner. The facelift included a new manager, who is very friendly and runs a tighter ship. He may be able to whip the employees in to shape. My office is right by here, so I eat Wendys 2-3 times a year. The one thing I'll never understand is how in the world is there always grease on the top part of my bun? Every time, never fails. read more

Service was terrible. Night crew is horrible. I spent 20 minutes waiting in line just to be told they're closed. From what I read they close at 12. It was 11. This wasn't the first time I waited in line at night. Also inside, the floors were drenched with water. One giant puddle sitting there not being cleaned up. Do NOT use delivery here, or, based on the other reviews, even bother to order. From where you are on Assembly, you can drive about 9 blocks to the McDonald's on Elmwood or go across the river to Whataburger. There is also a McDonald's at the corner of Gervais and Assembly. They left out half my order, were horrible to the delivery person who tried to pick it up, and on and on. Per other reviews, this spot has been in bad trouble for months now. Do NOT order here. The night crew should be fired. I do not say that lightly, I have managed multiple restaurants and respect the people that serve us regardless. However, when your restaurant says you are open to midnight, you are still accepting mobile orders, and there is a line of customers in the drive thru...you cannot just close at 11:00. If a manager is reading this my mobile order was placed at 11:05 and me and many other customers were there at 11:15. The workers did not even have the decency to get on the speaker and say "sorry we are closed". They just let everyone sit there until they figured out on their own that they would not be getting any food there. They in all seriousness should be fired. No longer cute. They only take two or three orders at a time so they don't look as bad on the computer tracking. Takes way to long to order. They are still very nice. Also to drink machine one has ice but no drinks the other some drinks but no ice. Popular drinks out. The staff is very nice very but new staff this summer is causing orders to take a long time to get filled. Maybe taking a break for the summer. Dinning in they typically have my order ready before I can even finish paying and walk over to the pickup counter. Now they give me plenty of time and extra time to chat with the other customers. :) Really not too long of a wait just was so fast before. read more

I can't help it. I love Wendy's chili! You should, too. It's on this pict side with a red tomato base. I always ask for a few packets of their chili sauce on the side along with a packet of sour cream to dab on the top. This new facility has transformed this location into a visually pleasing fast food joint. If you have not been since the rebuild, give them a shot. read more

After having visited some of the other Wendy's in the area since my recent visits a couple of weeks ago, I am beginning to appreciate the new layout at this location. You walk in and go to the counter and order. Rather than waiting at the register you ordered your meal, there is a pick up counter at the other end of the registers to pick up your meal. Do like the new coke machines that have been added (since Wendy's is one of the few fast food restaurants you have to go back up to the counter for refills). Besides the regular tables you would expect, they do have some "pub" tables to sit at. Yeah, food is OK - nothing too spectacular, but do like the new renovation. read more

All the workers are grossly incompetent. They have given me the wrong food numerous times. I ordered a grilled asiago ranch club and got a spicy chicken sandwich. I couldn't even eat it because I cannot eat spicy food so I had to just throw it away. They didn't give me the receipt so I don't even know what they charged me for. Do not go here. Wendy's is Wendy's you find good food at fair prices . Wendy's is always Wendy that has a selection of low cost meals started by Dave who was adopted as a child, his dream was to sell great hamburgers, and I say he did just that. Food is good the portions sometimes is small but good for the budget minded as well as for those who want a good hamburger etc. at their higher price menu. This location is usually clean as it is a favorite haunt of the state and college crowd. this location is off the SC State Capitol, The Great University of South Carolina, the Kroger Center Etc.as well as Kinko's Copy Center where you can log onto the web. This location of Wendy's is still not "wireless enabled", maybe someday. But all in all it's still a great place to eat. I rate this 5 Stars, need I say more. read more

Slowest service. Went on a Sunday night and waited over ten minutes in the drive thru with no cars moving forward. Decided to park and go inside and still had to wait for someone to take my order (and there was no one in line to order in front of me). Then waited ten more minutes for my food. Got dinner for my girlfriend and I. At the drive through they didn't even acknowledge us after waiting a few minutes I said something and was given a sharp reply. In the middle of taking my order they cut us off and stopped. Then we finally pulled up to the window and the guy inside was complaining about customers, we were asked to pull up and wait while the 4 cars behind us pulled up and left. The guy finally gets out to give us our order and lights a cigarette up right in front of us as we are checking the order. We weren't given or offered a receipt. When we got home all of our burgers were burned and the frosties were not mixed right. Would not recommend anyone go to this Wendy's drive down the road and go to Sonic or Which Wich instead. read more

I had previously ordered the 4 for $4 meal about a week ago from this location and received hard old spicy chicken nuggets, non the less I didn't request spicy chicken nuggets. I returned to this location and went through the drive thru, over the loud speaker I politely requested a replacement for my chicken nuggets that I received late night a week earlier that was an inaccurate and shriveled hard experience, While I ordered another 4 for $4, I just asked for a compensation for a 4 piece from my last experience. The manager on the drive thru system asked if I had a receipt, and as usual this location does not hand out receipts, so I said no. The store manager said, that if I don't have a receipt for the order I couldn't be compensated for the nuggets. He said that, there was be accounting issues with these nuggets if he did. Instead of fixing it, he rather argue with me, I went to the window and politely once again requested that it be fixed given it was a simple fix, I told him I worked at Wendy's for 3 years, and would never imagine to argue and be so defiant to a customer, to compensate for a poor experience. What I have experienced here tonight, was a great example of poor management and professionalism. none the less given it was the manager of the store, he appeared to be the GM whom represents the restaurant. Once again, the receipt machine was "broken" so I did not receive a receipt to prove my purchase. It was a simple fix, to make the customer happy, yet one made it so unreasonable to fulfill great customer service, and that I thrive on, especially the fact I work retail. I know that I want to make my guests welcome and fix any problem that occurred. Apparently at this location it was too much for even the GM/ manager to exceed great customer service. read more

Ordered dinner for my family of 4 and needless to say the only thing they got right were the drinks. They even messed up one of the frosty sizes, all the sandwiches, and fry sizes. Heck the woman who was working drive up you can barely understand her. I dont get it, come on its not that hard to get at least some fries right and a frosty right, but to pretty much mess up the entire order for a family 4 I dont get. This is the best Wendy's in Columbia, they are always on top of service, they get you in and out for lunch, my orders are always correct and super hot. The employees are always very efficient and helpful. The eat in area is constantly being cleaned and the bathrooms are too. Don't let the line deter you, they whip your food out very fast. read more

This may possibly be the worst Wendy's of all time. The other day I went to get the best deal in fast food in the four for four option. However my meal and possibly my day was ruined by careless employees. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and had the cashier repeat it back to me. Once I left the drive thru there was only ketchup and ranch, when I specifically ordered bbq. Then I looked at my sandwich, they gave me the wrong order which made me very angry. Stopped by here yesterday around 4-4:30. Ordered 2 adult meals with coke and one kids meal. Attempted to fill my drinks at the freestyle machine and it was out of regular coke. Went to tell cashier and she said " um well it's 2 machines". I neglected to notice so no big deal. Tried using the secind one and it too was out of coke. Went back to inform cashier that both machines were out. Que her blankly staring at me for a few seconds then replying "soo what do you want me to do about it?". I then asked if i could get coke from the drive thru while taking the cups I was told " i ain't suppose to do this". Today was a super hot day so I stopped for a water and a large chocolate frosty. When asked for a large water, i was told they didn't have large cups but somehow had one when I ordered the large frosty. Got to the window and was given a medium but was charged for a large. After I pulled off and got home I checked my bank account and saw that I was charged 9.33 for a FROSTY. I immediately called the restaurant to tell them about the mischarge. When the woman on the phone asked the cashier about it and got back to me she said, "Oops, looks like we charged you for a 10 piece combo. Could you just come back here and I'll refund you?" So not only did I not get the size I ordered, I was charged for something I never purchased, but I had to drive all the way back to be given cash as if they couldn't put it back on my card. I was hoping maybe what I actually ordered would have been comped considering none of that was my fault, but nope. All the employees stood by the window too staring at me which made me uncomfortable as well. I'm beyond frustrated and will not be going back. read more
