Before the internet age, we learned of her by word-of- mouth. If you are not wealthy, she is the go-to person to find out if your pet needs a vet visit. She can administer some medications, vaccines, antibiotics, etc. Her rich knowledge base will help you decide if a vet visit is necessary or advisable. Her adoption cats are well taken care of. If issues arise with one her animals, she will always respond appropriately, either taking care of the issue herself or referring you to a Veterinarian. Her charges are basically her costs. She doesn't try to profit. She helps cats & owners, pure & simple. If you love your cats but have a budget, she is amazing at helping maintain your cat's good health without breaking the bank. My cat Fedya (Teddy) came from Wendy's. She is an unbelievable lady! She saves so many cats! These cats roam free in her house with lots of toys, trees and other stimulation. She has special accommodations for nursing moms and their kittens. Despite the number of cats in her house, it is clean and everybody is well taken care of. Wendy is well organized with her paperwork and adoption records. The reason we chose one of Wendy's cats was that she has her cats socialized to dogs, which we also have. We are grateful to have Fedya; he came from some bad circumstances and Wendy nursed him back to health. read more

I recently adopted two kittens from Wendy. Her house was incredibly clean for the number of cats she has and the cats appeared to be well taken care of. The kittens were kept in a separate enclosure behind the house. I adore my two new kitties but have encountered a number of issues that folks should be aware of. First, while Wendy had given the kittens two rounds of feline distemper shots, my vet wouldn't accept one of the shots because it was given too early (before the kittens were eight weeks). So they both had to have another feline distemper vaccination. Second, both kittens had severe ear mite infestations. The vet was very annoyed at this ... he said that it's inexcusable for any rescue or shelter to adopt out a cat with ear mites because it's very easy to treat. Third, one of the kittens now appears to have ringworm. While the kittens were isolated from the larger group of cats in Wendy's house, at a minimum, all the kittens in the kitten enclosure were exposed to ringworm. Since ringworm spreads so easily, it's likely that the cats in her house also have been exposed. I believe that Wendy's heart is in the right place but I have doubts about her ability to adequately care for all of those cats. read more

We adopted Mr. Whiskers from Wendy's shelter. Although 80 cats lived there, the place was clean and the cats roamed free and were beautiful. They had ample places to climb, lots of hiding spots, and plenty of food and water. It's amazing how Wendy manages so many cats, with varying levels of need, so well! She deserves support from cat lovers of the world! read more

Wendy can choose the perfect one for you and your family with a little information regarding your family's lifestyle, and what you are looking for in a pet. They all have free run of her home as it should be with any pet, and she knows each one and their little quirks and personalities. For some reason if the one you select isn't the Purr-fect match you may feel free to return it and select another... no problem! They are all healthy and BEAUTIFUL! I haven't made my selection yet (can't seem to narrow it down to my favorite two) so I guess I will just keep volunteering until I can make my choice! read more

I recently found a stray kitten and was quite dismayed trying to find a shelter to take her. Several said they couldn't take her unless she could eat on her own. Some said they were full, and I also learned that you have to use shelters and spca's in your own locale. I was so pleased when I found Wendy's. She agreed to take the kitten without hesitation. I was very impressed with her home and her care of the cats. She has dozens of cats and kittens in her home, but it was so clean! The cats all seemed content and well socialized. Wendy is very knowledgeable and caring and knew just what to do to care for my kitten. I felt very comfortable leaving her in her capable hands. I would highly recommend Wendy's to anyone looking for a cat or kitten! read more
