First of all woman working register looked very annoyed you can feel her tension and annoyance! 2nd for the price you are paying they are REFUSING to refill napkin dispensers! when you ask for napkins you get 2 miserably napkins! 3rd other than ketchup you have to pay for any other condiments! For over (15) years, l've been traveling up & down Hwy 99 stopping to purchase fuel at the Madera Pilot truck-stop, & for a Wendy's Dave's double burger combo. I usually request (1) bar-b-que sauce with my meal. And usually. no problem.. Today l was astounded when the cashier (a tall slender white-gal), who is a new staff member to me), - said she was going to charge me 50 cents for the sauce, and that's our "policy". I was quite surprised by her unexpected response, & said l've been visiting this Wendy's and others, between LA & Northern California for years - & had not ever been charged 50 cents for a sauce container. She further said the sauce container is quite "large", - to which l responded, " not so " as l am familiar with the container size - l just had one given with my meal the day prior. I think more than anything that upset & turned me off, was the insensitive demeanor displayed by this cashier, touting company policy over my years of patronizing this Madera Wendy's store. I left the store with a bitter feeling, and l doubt if l'll ever patronize this location in the future. read more

The girl with the red hair didn't give me back my change and I only ordered 3 jr bacons and they had me wait for them. She said they'll come out fresh and when I got they were cold. The sign says "Open Late". Online it said that the dining room was open until midnight (drive thru hours were the same). Doors we're locked at 10:15 when I walked up. Manager was very rude, and told me I had to drive my vehicle through. My vehicle is 73 feet long, and you're across the street from a truck stop. Wouldn't serve me after I've been driving all day. I'll concede that the food wasn't bad this time, however the employees clearly have hearing problems or a difficult grasp on the English language. Pickles are a stain on America's fabric, so naturally I ordered a burger with no pickles. About half an hour north of Fresno, this place makes a good pit stop for food and a rest room break. I have to ditto the other reviews that say this place is SLOW. I ordered food, walked over to Starbucks, ordered a latte, waited for my coffee, got the coffee and walked back, and my burger still wasn't ready. But the staff was nice. Ordered a small fries and got medium. I think they try to compensate for making you wait. (Faster would be better than a few extra fries.) read more

We didn't check the receipt, our bad, we discovered the charge later while checking the credit card charges we accumulated on the trip. We were surprised ... Then we found the receipt. Again, our bad, we should have checked the receipt instead of assuming honesty and/or competence. Looking at the receipt, we seemed to have payed for someone else's substantial order. Check your receipt before you pull away no matter how road-weary you are. ON A GOOD NOTE: The food was good for what it was and the person who took our order was cheerful, notwithstanding they may have extracted a $20+ tip. read more

Clean clean bathrooms! On our way home from Sacramento and this is a regular pit stop. Clean bathrooms means we are not so grossed out we can't eat! Yay clean! Now let's get some snacks :-) We enjoy ordering the chicken nuggets. Can't go wrong with nuggets and the chocolate soft serve. I've always enjoyed Wendy's, & in fact it's probably one of my favorite fast food eateries. However, the quality of this particular location has deteriorated in recent weeks. Specifically, within the past three all of my orders have been wrong. And yes, I've always checked the receipt to ensure I asked for the order I didn't get. Even so, I've typically just ignored it, but today was the last straw. I ordered the sausage croissant, which is suppose to be made with Swiss cheese, & INCLUDE a sausage patty. Just driving through. I haven't been to a Wendy's in years. I was disappointed they no longer serve baked potatoes. This place is right off the freeway so we stopped. Services is quite slow so we had to take it to go. It would have been nice to dine in. We ordered the 4 for $4 after not being able to decide on what to get. The spicy nuggets were tasty with the ranch dressing. I would have loved fresh ranch as this just didn't taste right. The fries were good, not too soggy. The burger with bacon was tiny, but good, the drink was ok. They have one of those drink machines and I just couldn't pick a drink. I really wanted sweet tea, but all they had was regular and I couldn't seem to get the right amount of sugar in it. Best of all I didn't get sick from this meal. It was just enough for 2 to share. If I have to stop again I'd get the deal as it's a real money saver. read more

This place has really gone down in the last year. Customer service is horrible, long wait times, the drinks always have overflow on the sides, wrong orders and absolutely no one smiles. This was not just one fluke i gave them at least 5 tries to get it right and they screwed up 5 outta 5. I once waited 30 mins in drive thru for some trashy food that wasnt even right. There was about 5 cars ahead of us. It was about 3:15PM. We didn't get to the window until 3:45PMish. After getting at the window, I complained to the drivethru cashier that I waited over 30 minutes for my order. She offered a free frosty to make up for the inconvenience. After getting on the freeway, the wife unwrapped the jr. bacon cheeseburger. Turned out, it was a double double cheeseburger with mayo and ketchup. Bummer, waited all that time to find out that they couldn't even make a proper jr. bacon cheeseburger. Even if a free frosty, a huge dissapointment. Who messes up making a jr. bacon cheeseburger. This WENDYS needs to get better at the drive through I been in the drive through for 25mins and still haven't gone to get my food there's still 2 cars in front on me they need to know how to manage there crew better I know it's right next to s busy highway but it never takes this long to get through a drive through. Stopped by this Wendy's and had horrible service. My sister wanted a baked potato and the manager said they had no more yet the older couple behind us got served two baked potatoes?! I'm not complaining too much the quality of Wendy's food, but the price charged for two simple meals smacks of PRICE GOUGING! A Baconator burger and a chicken sandwich meal cost us $27 and change. That's over $13 per meal. The quality of the meals fast-food-acceptable. In this time of Coronavirus pandemic gouging patrons should be strongly frowned on.
