Wendy's in Mayfield Heights is located across from a major retail plaza on Som Center Road. As a result, it's a very convenient location for eats before or after shopping. I have been to this location a few times with the latest being this weekend. RESTAURANT: I have not been inside the restaurant but used the drive thru. Lately, I found that the location is very poorly lit in the evenings. For instance, lights are pretty dim in the parking lot. Half the menu is not lit up. It just doesn't provide a feeling of safety. FOOD: I ordered a few things here over the years. The food is usually just average. During the last visit I purchased the Baconator (double) and Chili (large). The Baconator was much tastier this time, juicy, well put together, and fresh. Chili seemed to be different from the usual recipe. Usually the chili is much darker, meat forward, and has thick consistency. This chili seemed completely different - lighter color, very diluted, and not like the original. I haven't had chili in a few months so perhaps it's an overall recipe change. All I know is that I liked chili here considerably less than at other locations. SERVICE: I couldn't believe how good the service was for a drive thru during my last visit. I mean it. The service was very prompt, my food was up in minutes. The employee working the drive thru was incredible, very courteous and attentive. I can't remember another transaction at any fast food place that was as excellent. It's not the case every single time, most times the service is average. I look forward to visiting next time due to great service. I probably won't order chili again but look forward to experiencing other menu items. read more

Six. Pouring rain. Line around the building for drive thru so I parked and went inside. I looked at menu before stepping up to countee. I stood there for a few seconds before some older decided to notice me then she barked "cash only!" Excuse me you don't take cards? " again she barked "cash only. Our reader is broken. I LOVE Wendy's. We all know the burgers are square because they don't cut corners. But this Wendy's in particular leaves a lot to be desired. In probably 50 trips here over there past decade plus, my order is wrong at least half the time. And they always seek to have wilted lettuce and soggy tomatoes. Let me start this by saying I used to work at Wendy's so I understand the struggle. But this was probably the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. I went to the drive through 5:30pm on a Monday and the man told me they were doing a shift change and that he couldn't take my order. I thought another person would take my order so I waited. A couple minutes later the same man came back on and said "so you're just gonna wait there for 15 minutes" and I said "I'm not sure what you want me to do, should I just pull up to the next window or go inside?" He said "well since you're so entitled I'll just take your order then." So if anyone else comes to this location and they tell you they're in the middle of a shift change that means you should go somewhere else. The sign states open late until 1, but when the workers feel like it, they only accept doordash/uber eats. There was no lettuce, the self serve soda machine was out of most of the products including Coke, and had no ice. The counter staff couldn't have been less interested in serving us. By far the worst service I've ever received! Decided to try getting Wendy's breakfast for the first time today. I pulled in at 7:15 AM and there was no one in the drive-thru at all. When I went to take a moment to read over the menu options, I was greeted by a woman who told me that she was the only one there and she had things to do and didn't have time to wait for me to be looking over the menu. (Why have a menu if I can't take a sec to read it?) There was no one in front or behind me either. The only other times I have tried to go through this drive-thru has been for lunch and the line has been so long that I've ended up, pulling out and leaving. Wanted to try their breakfast for the first time before work. Went through drive-thru around 9:00am,and there was only one car ahead of me.I didn't know exactly what I wanted so the employee suggested the "breakfast baconator".I figured it looked good so I ordered it "without the sauce ". I only put a one star because it requires to at least put that. Today I went to the pick up line and ordered a combo meal. I payed and left. When I took a drink of my beverage it tasted like dirty water with a hint of diet. I ordered regular coke. I immediately called the store several times no answer. I drove back all the way continued to call the store and no answer. I waited back in the pick up line. By the time I reached the window again it had been 22 minutes so my food was very cold. I ordered two Pretzel Pub chicken sandwiches and two medium frostys. At the order screen I asked for the chicken to be put down fresh and the employee acknowledged. When we pulled up to the window our food was waiting for us. I thought this strange so I asked the employee if these were fresh. She Snarkily Stated "I didn't make it. They did." And then closed the window. We returned home to find that the sandwiches were missing ALMOST EVERY COMPONENT. They were missing: the pickles, bacon, cheese, pub cheese, crispy onions tomatoes. These sandwiches were a plain piece of chicken with a piece of lettuce and a tiny drizzle of honey mustard on a pretzel bun. Then our frostys were not filled all the way. This was my first time at this location and will be my last. I have two toddlers that were hungry while running errands, so I pulled in to get "fast" food. I waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes. The staff was rude and the girl that brought my food wasn't wearing a mask. My food was cold, I don't mean the fries were cold, I mean the entire bag of food and both kids meals were ICE cold.
