What a great experience! Got there right before closing (5:56) and didn't think we'd be able to order. Anthony assured me that we could still be serviced. What stood out was that he was happy to still prepare our items even though it was go home time. He made three outstanding recommendations. We ended up with the Larry, BBQ short rib and the steak sandwich. I rarely order food without modifications BUT the short rib sandwich is perfect to order. The Larry could use a little tweaking for my preference and the steak sandwich was pretty tasty. While we waited we tried the smoked turkey salad. . The way the smoke flavor embodied the meat was incredible. A tad salty but still delish. I got a history on the restaurant from Allison. It's so refreshing to see people enjoy their work and they definitely do. I enjoyed my wait just chatting with her as she wrapped up her day. Again not rushed or too busy to provide great service at the end of the day. Then I found out that next door had even more to offer...... they deserve their own review. As for here! 10/10 food and service.

Yummy sandwich! Bread and sauces were good, and the workers were helpful and prompt! I would definitely try one of their cannolis next time

Clear signage. Plenty of parking. However easy to miss - we just don't have many one-way parking plaza's in Cleveland. It is the plaza north of Heinen's grocery store. It is primarily Carryout but there are so bistro tables outside. It appears to be a full-service butcher. The window is full of dry aged beef! The motif is so cute and is extremely clean inside. So I think they deserve to be categorized as a boutique butcher. I think the Village Butcher has the most spectacular sandwiches in town. The "Larry" is the BEST cheesesteak I have had in Cleveland. High quality ingredients, generous with the amount of meat and beautiful bread. The other sandwich we tried was the "PLG". Holy Toledo! The best Italian sub I have ever had. The lunch meats are premium. The basil aioli will have you licking your fingers! This sandwich can be made hot or cold. We get it cold and let it set out for an hour. Please try this place. You will not regret it!

I was looking for a quick and good lunch spot and came across this place. You walk in and get the butcher shop vibe. There is no seating so be prepared to take your lunch and find somewhere to eat. There is a nice park right down the street. I had the rib sandwich and a soup. This sandwich was the absolute bomb! The rib meat had the best consistency, tender to bite but not tough. The flavor was just wow- the buttery bread, the pickles and slaw were a great combo. The soup was very good, with a smooth and creamy flavor. Prices were fair and they had a bunch of yummy things for sale.

There are some really good sandwich places in Cleveland (ferrara's, herb n twine, larder, Davis bakery, Dave's cosmic, etc), but village butcher was very special and I get why it was recently ranked #1 sandwich shop in the Cleveland area. We had the Kytana Sandwich, which was on a crisp homemade brioche roll with caraway seeds, roasted Turkey avocado Swiss arugula and Russian dressing. The sandwich was a sloppy mess and I loved every second of it! On the side we tried the Italian street corn which is a cool take on elote and the corn was cooked super well done so the corn fell off the cob, it was a great addition to the sandwich! Also don't forget to get your pantry staples and fresh meats out of their butcher case!

Ordered: PLG sandwich, Crispy Z sandwich, fries, street corn Price: ~$45 Ambiance: Stopped by this place 30 mins prior to closing and they weren't too busy. The shop is essentially a butcher counter with a small kitchen tucked in the back and a wall of imported pasta and sandwich supplies. The place is sub-optimally organized IMO. You order food at the butcher counter just like the people ordering meats, then pay at the table by the entrance which means doubling back against incoming traffic, then walk to the opposite end by the kitchen for your food. This creates a lot of cross traffic which can be confusing. There is no sitting room so hot food is all carry out by the way. Aside from these problems, the store is neat with cool imported pastas, fancy mustards, multiple brands of imported tomatoes, etc. There are vintage radios on the shelves which is a cool decorative touch and a massive meat scale by the kitchen you'll wish you could climb on. The food is made fresh one order at a time so it can take a while, we waited maybe 25-30 mins with two orders ahead of us. Food: Of our sandwiches, the PLG was the clear winner. It's a big sandwich with a log of thinly shaved imported cured meats sitting on hearty bread, a bed of greens, and topped with fat slices of beefsteak tomato and a garnish of shaved red onions. The ratios were very satisfying and the balance between savory and acidic was perfect, it's definitely something I'd get again. The crispy Z was basically a classic fried chicken sandwich made with two boneless skinless thighs. It's a very good sandwich with great house pickles but compared to the PLG it seemed like not that much food despite being the same cost. As for sides, 100% get the fries. They're a relatively small order for the price but they're amazingly flavorful and crispy, you won't regret it. The street corn was good as well, you basically get three small pieces that are roasted, and slathered in a garlicky cilantro cream and generously sprinkled with Mexican cheese. Overall, village butcher makes some admittedly great sandwiches with quality ingredients. They don't have a huge variety on their menu but what they offer is generally tasty. I will admit I'm a little sad the PLG wasn't made with meats cured in-house and their selection of cured meats was somewhat sparse overall but this place has only been open a few months and meats can take over a year to cure. The prices do seem a bit high however, $13-14 bucks for a sandwich and $6 for a side is a lot especially when some of them aren't filling. I'd still recommend coming here to try some of their offerings but with the expectation that you're here for the flavor/quality more than anything else.

Awesome butcher/deli shop with great sandwiches and meat! Small shop producing big flavors in all of their products. Service was very nice and made our food very quick and fresh. The PLG sandwich from the deli was amazing, the baguette was warm and toasted which was the perfect base for the salty capicolla sopresatta and prosciutto contrasted with the bright basil aioli and fresh lettuce, tomato, and red onions, and the sandwich was all brought together by the bright and acidic Italian dressing. Everything looks great in there, all the different prepared foods, fresh meats and sauces, I'll definitely make more stops here in the future.

I'll commend them on the meatball sub. They avoided the critical mistake of putting too much bread into the equation and losing the flavor. This was a very meatball-forward experience with a beef and pork blended meatball, seasoned with Italian spices. Highly recommend! Service was unreal. Career first where I couldn't keep up with drink refills. They had a new lemonade on the table after a couple sips each time.

They use this location to butcher the meat, and then sell it through the restaurant. To buy cuts of beef to go, you need to go to their Akron store (which I will go out of my way to find soon). Big display case where they have sides of beef hanging, coolest thing I've ever seen! Well almost....the coolest thing I've ever seen is the wall of bourbon behind the bar. I like bourbon, and I've NEVER seen a collection this vast. Good thing I live on the other side of town, or I would go broke coming into this place daily! Learned they make road trips to KY for taste tests. Most recently, they went to Buffalo Trace and sampled several different barrels of Blanton's Gold. Found one they liked and had the whole barrel bottled up for their exclusive sale. At $11/ounce, that's a great deal! They also have a nice retail selection of wines, priced at reasonable prices. There is a day each week when they sell them to the restaurant patrons at retail price which is a bargain considering most places mark them up 2-3x. For lunch I had a blackened chicken salad of some sort. The chicken was a nice amount and was simply delicious! Need to come back again when I'm not cutting calories for the beef!

Got meat? If not,…read moreMilk House Meats does! I'm from Texas and my wife was born and raised here in Beaver Falls so one would think she would have piped up early on in our relationship about an old school butcher within 10 mins of our house that raises their own beef and sources many (...and I mean MANY) types of meats. They are highly accommodating to the small buyer (i.e. not ordering a 1/2 or whole cow or pig), yet they will allow you to provide your own cut sheet for a whole animal. They have smoked meat options, they have stuffed goodies (mushrooms, hot/mild peppers, pork chops, chicken breasts...probably more but I can't think of them at the moment), they prepare holiday meats for you (i.e. turkeys/hams/lamb/others), they have pies, they have soup bones, they have sauces, condiments...did I forget the bacon? Yes! They have all kinds of sausages, offer "bone in" and "boneless" of every cut you can imagine. If you live nearby and are a dyed in the wool carnivore as I am, you should kiss the ground and thank the big guy above that you live near this place. My various grills haven't been the same since I discovered this place...we be grillin' and smokin' ALL the time. In a nutshell, if that can be said after a review such as this, this place is heaven on earth for those that love MEAT!!! Get there already...and git 'er dun on that grill already!
