We order food and went home and only live a few minutes away upon getting everything out it was all cold, we paid $40 for just 1 meal, 2 chicken nuggets and 2 frostys. How? They usually have everything in stock, but tonight when I ordered two Frosty Cookie Sundaes, I was told they could only do vanilla because the chocolate was runny (their vanilla was kinda runny too). A friend and I went to get some late night munchies, so we both get the 2 for five she gets home style chicken sandwich and nuggets and I get two grilled chicken sandwiches. I ate the first sandwich pretty fast because I was pretty hungry, and then I'm halfway through the second one when I look down and it's totally raw not just a little but super raw, salmonella raw. The new remodel is beautiful inside out. The only down side is that the homeless are hanging out inside. As of right now I count 6 homeless just chilling and taking over the spot in front of the tv. Also another guy in his wheelchair using the free electrical ports on the back table to charge his electronics and has all of his crap all over the table. Very very sad. I went through the drive through of this Wendy's for lunch and order a combo. There was a $1.50 discrepancy between the advertised price and the price that I was asked to pay. I asked the young man at the counter why was there a discrepancy and he told me that I would need to talk to his manager, which I did. When I informed the manager, Sunny, about the discrepancy, he asked "Do you want it or not!?" Probably the least attentive fast food joint still in business. Somehow the exterior renovations signaled a commitment to worse customer service. I have left the drive thru unhappy - and thank God this is the one place in Modesto where this is possible - three times in the three months I've been back in town. This place used to be my reliable fast food on the way back home from the pub. Now they need me to announce that I'm at the drive thru speaker, and I often have to start my order over from the beginning after answering several specific questions about whether I'm getting my number 6 small, medium or large, and what my preferred soft drink is. I hate to criticize the people who clearly make minimum wage and are probably treated like bottom-rung employees by their superiors, but if putting in an order for a number 6, no special accommodations, involves me announcing to the drive thru attendant that I'm here, that I'm hungry, when the rest of the line has cleared out, and even then my order requires a second attendant to ask which number I asked for, whether I want my combo to be medium or large, whether I also want a cookie or whatever suggestive sales special tactic they're trying this week, I don't know. I felt like kind of a dick when I chewed out the first attendant who finally answered my "hello"s, but when I finally peeled out and drove less than half a block to Jack-in-the-Box to get service, and I was served within 5 minutes, welcomed to the "after-hours party," treated kindly, and told to drive safely after getting a superior spicy chicken sandwich, how could I not compare? The service was speedy and pleasant and personal. Wendy's would do well to learn from any one of these three, and until they do, I recommend that everyone please go to Jack-in-the-Box instead. For your sake. This Wendy's has gone comically downhill. I used to specifically come to this location all the time, just because of its ideal location, but if they don't step it up something serious in the immediate future, I honestly hope they fail. I saw a lady at school chowing down on Wendy's and decided that, at 12:30 am, I needed those fries. McHenry is dead this late, so I made it there in under 5 minutes. Not only was the drive-thru girl a cupcake, they served me fresh-esque food. I'm not idiot; I don't expect real food a half hour before they close. It is dipped back into the fryer for a few seconds until it bubbles. When you think you're outsmarting the poor kid working the grill by asking for "fresh" or "no salt," he's just laughing at you and redipping. Best. Wendy's. Ever. Hands down. The staff is what make it amazing. The manager Sunny keeps a well trained and polite staff, and the quality of their service continues with the food. I've been to fast food all over the country, and this Wendy's is the only location I'll visit. As others have mentioned, the transient population is very high close to downtown Modesto, yet this Wendy's has managers and staff (Charles is one such staff member I've noticed) that are capable of ensuring all customers are treated with respect and a kind demeanor, while maintaining a safe and clean environment for other customers. Came here on our visit to see my folks since they just moved back down to the area. My wife had a double stacker burger meal while I had chicken sandwich 4 for 4 deal. Overall one of the nicer Wendy's I've seen... I know they're starting to make them more stylish to compete with other fast food chains. Service was kind and quick. Venue was very clean and sleek as it should be. I notice many people nay say about the place but maybe it's just luck of the draw. Yes I've had cold fries or sometimes too much salt/no salt.
