This was our first time here so we asked the cashier what she recommended. Her recommendations were the garlic beast with bacon, the steak sandwich, and the bacon cheeseburger. We ordered all 3! The garlic beast was the best. It has jalapeños that are flavorful but not spicy, the bacon was crispy and you can taste the garlic in the patty. The steak sandwich was good. Its a little smaller than the burger, but had good flavor as well. Lastly, the bacon cheeseburger; you can't go wrong ordering a burger with bacon! Everything was yummy! This was our first time here, we've lived in Modesto over 4 years now and we still have so much to see and try! I didn't take photos of everything but the Chili Cheese Burger (regular) because my kid and husband dug right in, my little one got a Hotdog combo (only ketchup) and the husband got a mushroom Swiss combo. They loved it all! I got the Chili Cheese Burger and it was delicious, the meat wasn't bland at all or salty, it was just right. Moved to Modesto a while ago and still haven't found THE burger place for us. Yes we've done the restaurants and blahblahblah. Anyhoo/ I finally decided to try Bobs. This was my first time at Bob's Giant Burger located in Modesto, CA, and it's an understatement for the word "giant burger." I was so excited to try them out because of the high ratings on Yelp, but I was very disappointed, and Yelp failed me again. There weren't any pros to this review; there were more cons. I was still hungry afterwards. Cons 1/5-2/5 Bacon, mushroom, Swiss cheese, avocado burger combo that cost $20.00 and very skimpy average quality crinkle cut fries There wasn't anything special about the burger except for the hefty price and average portions. There are limited selections of fountain beverages. I didn't see any lemonade or ice tea. Buffalo wings are more like tiny weenie wings at best. The flavor was okay. The service was okay. I'm pretty sure there's a better local burger spot in Modesto that will leave you full and satisfied, but not here at Bob's Giant Burger, in my opinion. I'm better off eating at Carl's Jr.; their Super Star will fill you up, and it's a lot cheaper for a combo. We also ordered a large onion rings to share. I enjoyed the Philly it was very flavorful and the bread was good. Not too soft ya know. I could only eat half, very filling. My husband liked his burger too but did mention the bun could not hold up to all the stuff inside. He should have ordered a single patty only. Double was too much. My husband and I went to Bobs Giant Burger after he went with his friends for the first time. We went at lunch time but not really a lot of people there. My husband asked for a bacon wrapped hotdog with extra mustard only. I got the cheese steak as the burgers they were cooking behind them were not super appealing. We got fries and drinks.. waited.. then our food came out in to go containers.. which was odd as we never asked for to go. All the paper bags out food were in were wet and falling apart.. fries were soggy.. my husband hotdog (in photo) had all kinds of stuff on it he didn't ask for and no mustard.. my cheese steak had no cheese ( ordered extra) and was so soggy I couldn't pick it up to eat it.
