As this is more of a California chain sandwich spot, it happens to be one of my FAVORITES for the last decade or so. The sandwiches are just on my top 3 list they have soooo many options and are delicious but as I am a creature of habit I get the Spiffy Tiffy every time which consists of pesto, provolone, mushroom, avocado and pepper jack cheese, and their their halal chicken (this is what sets them apart from the other sandwich spots with a chicken option) it is SO good. I don't care for mushrooms but I will get the avocado on a little sometimes. It's a lot of goodness going on. WORKERS HERE ARE FIREEE. They actually care about you and give off so much good energy and will make your food right. There are special items on the menu and modesto has one which i'm assuming is named after "american graffiti" named "graffiti petey" and it's on the menu on the wall. Found this uniquely fabulous sandwich shop via Yelp on my drive home from SOCAL to WA. What a great find! Ordered two sandwiches, Vegnews..pesto/mushrooms and Meatless Mike..plant based meatballs, both to include the veggies/sauce and on a sour dough roll. The menu is varied and as told by the cashier more choices on line! No lie, wow. I love the vegetarian options! Thank you for being so creative. The mushrooms/pesto sandwich was delicious, a combination I've never had. My husband enjoyed the plant based meatball sandwich. Best sandwich ever! Wish this franchise was in WA. Decided on a sandwich for lunch. As far as the sandwich it was great. I ordered the Matt Cain (Roast Beef, Salami, Turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomato on Dutch crunch with their godfather sauce. This was absolutely delicious. I would order this sandwich again. I ordered a side of Salt & Vinegar chips by Zapp's. Extra crunchy and tasted great. She always gets the Pilgrim vegan style and was happy with it Zucchini chips were breaded very well with ranch sauce and pesto for dipping. I was happy with these. I ordered the Meatless Mike... Vegan meatballs, marinara, vegan cheese and........ vegannaise????? It tasted like vegan mayo was on top of the other flavors. I almost couldn't taste the marinara and for me, that was a miss because I love these sandwiches so much. I don't want to subtract a point from this review.... but I feel like in these businesses, I hope that the staff will maybe ask at the register if people want mayo or sauces like that on the sandwiches.
