For the new and unititiated, a word of admonition: do not let your senses fool you. Dairy King looks like a dive, and tastes like a dive, and not in any delicious way. I get that going pretty much anywhere for ice cream on a hot summer day is fun. What I do not get are comments here asserting that Dairy King's food, particularly their burgers are anything more than mediocre, studiously average at best, and a dubious step up over major chains. To all who will, in the the romantic twilight after Little League games or movies, arrive at Dairy King hungry and ready and willing to scarf down just about anything, I hope for your sake that good experiences continue, that fine memories of family and friends are created and then savored in the hopefully delicious silence of your unfolding life. Their appetizers, queso, and house-made hot sauce are all excellent and full of flavor, not just spice. Most times I've been, the service has been fast, even when they're busy. The interior is clean, colorful, and decorated with authentic touches, so it feels fun and relaxed whether you're dining in or just grabbing takeout.
