Again, I am guessing they were understaffed. We ordered some BBQ ribs which were quite good but the half rack was small IMO. They have nothing on Kansas City, but it was still pretty good. They appear to BBQ their meats on the premises. Ambiance was okay, fine for BBQ and beer. If I lived in Scranton, maybe this place would be on the list of options, IDK.

Dip was fine, probably out of a packet. Little did we know those burnt chips would be the only thing we would be eating for an hour with little to no refills. We are fully aware of that staffing will always be an issue, and things can happen. But, to put a post up an hour before opening on a holiday weekend, definitely put a hurt on us and now we have to scramble for other plans. A lot of places require reservations for parties of 6+ people and they are already taken. Very disappointing with so many people visiting and us wanting to show them a local good time.

I wanted to order something else and again no waitress came over to finally someone did. I ordered the balsamic glaze chicken salad which took way too long to come out. The chicken had a weird texture to it, but at least the lettuce was fresh. Overall, the service was not very good considering the place was not busy and the food was definitely just average. I would not come back here next time I'm in the area.

The format was unusual in that it appeared to be a carry out place- but with a dining room attached. You order & pay- then go sit and wait for your meal to be served. The dining room is more comfortable than a typical pizza place with a family warmth. Our crew ordered chicken soup, burgers, pizza and a sub to go for out basketball player. We selected their "Old Forge" style pizza- iconic to the region. It didn't disappoint. The crust was light & crispy, the sauce in the sweet side and the blend of cheeses (including American cheese which is the hallmark, I'm told, of the style). It was delicious. I am a pizza 'freak'. I've enjoyed pizza from iconic restaurants in Naples, Rome, Chicago, New York, California, Detroit and now...Scranton! The burger people praised their 8oz. Burgers. The diner that enjoyed chicken soup (an accomplished cook) had high praise for the home made flavor and textures. When you add that we were treated like family members of this family owned establishment, our experience was exceptional. My only "complaints" are that: the check was far less than expected and (more of an opportunity than a complaint) I would have spent $$ for a nice red wine to complement my meal.
