They let my mother and I drive the car to my dad so he could check it out and then to my mechanic to have it fully checked once we ran the numbers and I decided I wanted it as long as it checked out by my mechanic. The car has a few minor cosmetic issues (small scratches in the paint) that are to be expected. The trunk latch cover had dry rotted (it's plastic and this is a common issue), Michael found us a replacement quickly and offered to have it painted as well for way cheaper than Toyota charges for just the piece. The car came with 4 brand new tires, unfortunately the previous owner had straddled a curb or something causing damage to the interior of the rim--which was causing the tire to bubble. (My mechanic found it after he lifted the car to check the bearings.) Michael and his father took off the price of a new rim and tire so we could replace them. They also gave me a very fair price for my trade. Michael, Ray, and I'm sure the others that work at Auto Showcase are amazing and honest people-- they made buying this car quick and easy...they even stayed late so we could get it all done. I highly recommend them to everyone, hands down the best car looking/buying experience I and my family has had.

They went up on the fees apparently that are added on during final purchase which isn't calculated until the final purchase. Issue is they have gone up so much on those fees that if you have a pre-approval from your bank or whoever, while using their website information for what the vehicle cost will leave you with a surprise extra 2k to 3k in fees. But, okay I'll roll with that. After the purchase, the car died on me overnight. Had to have it towed next day. They did a little more inspection this time...The vehicle was not inspection properly before being sold. They gave 4 new tires and an alignment on them. Okay I'll roll with that. A few weeks later, my console is telling me something is draining the battery so I called them again to see if they even did a basic inspection on yhe vehicle. They sent me to a local shop that works on bmws etc. Turns out they put a battery that was too small for the vehicle instead of getting the correct battery... Highly likely won't be buying through Carmax again.

Trey lured me over there, 100 miles away, to see a cute Elantra.... He said it was a great car in good condition. He sent me 3 videos, it looked good. I got my friend to drive me over there and when I see the car, it has a horrible paint job covered in oxidation and the inside smells extremely strongly of cigarette smoke and had a cigarette burn in the driver seat. I was flabbergasted because I had already given them a $500 deposit... My friend had something pressing and had to leave so there I am in Tallahassee with very limited funds truthfully they did offer to give me my deposit back, but it would have meant starting all over and renting a car and I'm not well and I was struggling and I just bought it. It's horrible looking and I'm embarrassed to drive it but I will until I can save up enough money to have it painted I would not trust this dealership and would not recommend it to any friends or family. It wasn't exactly bait and switch, but I think he could've told me that it really needed a paint job and that it did not smell good at all before I traveled 100 miles to see it. I paid too much for it , another stupid decision on my part. Oh well . Just beware, they do not care about your best interest.

I took my car in for a repair. When arrived, I had the service manager examine under the hood with me. They recommended I replace the engine. They found an engine added $100 to the bill for possible "extra parts" totaling $5,500 to order. They stated the remanufactured engine would be complete and ready for use, explained it would be 14 hours of labor at $189 per hour. I consented and paid for the engine. A week later, the engine arrived. Later on, the service manager Richard explains even though they claimed the engine was complete, I would still need more parts for it. I received a list of the items recommended for repair from the manager. Components such as new a clutch kit, ac compressor, water pump, hoses, engine gaskets, CV axels and control arms. I paid well over $1,000 for a clutch kit for them to repair not even a year ago! Question: if I'm getting an engine swap, why would you be in my transmission? (List attached) I agreed to the things necessary for the new engine, but I refused the ridiculous parts on the list that I knew had already been recently replaced. There were items added to the list that had nothing to do with the engine. That bugged me a little but I moved on. The job took an extra week. I was patient and understanding. Richard, assured me that he would make sure everything was correct and stated that he would only permit one mechanic to work on a service like this in order to prevent any inconsistencies. I call at the end of the week they said the job was finished. I went there to pay for remaining balance. I drove it, and it drove well, I was very excited. Richard recommended that I checked under the hood to see the engine first before paying. I noticed a random screw missing in plain sight from a AC line and my engine shield dangling as if the fasteners were broken. Richard assured me that they would get it fixed and he would speak to his mechanic. After I expressed my worries of the engine shield, they refused to replace it after realizing it was a portion of the intake manifold that they had broken. The service manager becomes irate and tells me how much he has helped me already as if I should be okay with them damaging a part that wasn't damaged before. It was like a slap in the face to me. I was shocked to learn that after spending more than $5,000 for just the engine and receiving assurances that everything would work out, I'm now blamed when they damage something and refuse to fix it. After learning about the problem, General Manager Michael R. offers to apply JD weld (a strong super glue), to keep it in place, and signs a letter (which is only good for 30 days, by the way) promising to repair the manifold at no cost if the piece breaks off. Yet he verbally states to me and my mother that at ANYTIME, doesn't matter if it's 6 months from now, if it wears off they would replace the manifold free of charge. Contradicting right? Not sure if he thought we wouldn't read the small wording on the paper he handed us. I asked, "Why not replace it now if you are agreeing to fix it in writing?" His response was that he is not made of money and would be out about a $300-$400. Mind you I spent $5k alone for the engine and they still haven't informed me of my remaining balance. After that, he continued to disregard my mother and I. The general manager said, "Give me a valid reason and I will give you my superiors information," in response to our request for an authority figure. After realizing they wouldn't make it right, I paid the remaining balance of nearly $4,000 even though they couldn't tell me if the extra $100 they initially charged to the engine order was deducted from the balance. After dealing with their disgusting attitudes, I just paid and left. I was mistreated as a honest, paying customer. I will no longer come here after this disgraceful customer service and if this is your new management, please reconsider Mr. Lopez!

They also sold a truck we had put on the contract for a down payment before we had accepted the car they were trying to sell us and kept the funds, saying we owed them because they made repairs on the car they wanted to sell us. Then they sold the car we turned down the next day and still refused to give us the money for the truck. The absolute most unprofessional and unethical people I have ever dealt with.
