I brought my 2016 Civic to Proctor Honda for a transmission replacement, and they installed the transmission mount upside down. When I contacted Mr. Bobo, the service manager, instead of taking responsibility, he denied any wrongdoing. Coggin Honda in Jacksonville later confirmed the mount was installed incorrectly, provided proof, and fixed the problem. For a $6,600 repair, Proctor Honda chose denial over accountability. My daughter got an oil change in December 2025. She started having problems with her 2006 Honda civic yesterday (01/18/2026). She took to another mechanic and those told her she needed an oil change because her oil was black and to not drive her car because of an oil leak. She takes it to Proctor Honda today and she asks what have you guys been doing? The Service Manager (Mr. Fuller) couldn't give her an answer as to why her oil is black. He gets smart with her of course meaning you don't know your job Mr. Fuller. We never had these issues with Hendrick Honda of Charlotte, NC. I recently took my wife's 2017 civic in for routine service. There was a ECM light on that they couldn't figure out. They fixed something that wasn't broken and charged me $500 for parts and labor. I had my boyfriend go in to get an inspection and an oil change on my 2006 Honda civic at 8am since I was sick at home and were told on the phone a week ago that's the only time they were available. He was quoted $270 in total which I have NEVER heard of in all my years of owning a car. They even had a special on their site saying their multi point inspection was free with any service purchase but decided to try to charge $270 instead. I had my boyfriend come back home with my car because that's ridiculous. Would not recommend this place at all. Be very cautious when taking your car here to get serviced. read more

Phone Customer Service remains non-existent. My CR-V has another Airbag recall, but you won't get an appointment for that unless you are coming here to spend money... Having already had my vehicle diagnosed by my mechanic (& common sense), I knew the power steering pump needed replacing. I scheduled a drop off appointment for my car and asked to have a quote on repairing the pump. I'm told "That will be $55 to diagnose", "I already know the pump needs replacing, just want to know how much it will cost", "It's $55, we will have them look at it". Next day... I receive a call that my car has two oils leaks, needs new brakes, Needs $1,200 transmission repair ($55 to diagnose as well).... and $1,500 power steering pump. I paid over $700 for the oil leaks and brakes. They listed a complimentary car was on my invoice (my car was not washed). Basically I paid $110 to have my airbag recall performed, because had I not come in for other service they would've kept up the charade that they don't have any parts for my vehicle. They have a lovely show room and charismatic sales staff. My first experience as a new customer compared to my service as a return customer has left a bad taste in my mouth. Not only that, but it burned my tongue! Don't ask them to diagnose anything, they'll probably do it anyway. read more

I needed regular service on my Honda CRV. I contacted Proctor Honda via Phone to schedule an oil change and tire rotation. The staff member on the phone was pleasant. When I arrived, I was greeted by a kind gentleman, Bruce Ford, ready to assist me. I asked if we could fix the battery in my key as the car indicates it is low. He asked if I needed anything else besides the oil change, tire rotation and battery in key, and I stated no. I handed the keys and jumped in the hubby's car while they worked on my CRV baby. After a short time, I received a call from Bruce Ford stating my car was ready for pickup. When I arrived Bruce was friendly and very informative about my car inspection from the oil change and tire rotation. I appreciated that. I got in my car to take off and my car indicated the key was low battery. I went back to Bruce and he quickly took it to service to be fixed. He walked to my car with me to ensure the key was not still sending the low battery indicator on my dashboard. It was fixed this time. Thank you so much Bruce Ford for helping me out today. I brought my truck in for a routine maintenance as well as a tailgate handle with lock installation. I chose this dealership over the one in Thomasville because they were aware of a service bulletin saying the transmission service that included a flush was not recommended by the company, yet the other dealership was not aware of this and would have done a complete flush and cleaning of the transmission. So this dealership did a drain and filled of transmission fluid, oil change, tire rotation, and the lock installation. They also ran it through their car wash, but that did not do much because there were still remnants of bugs on the front and dirt on the tailgate. When I called to make an appointment for the service, it was easy and fast. They knew what part I needed and ordered it for me and got me in the very next Saturday. When I arrived I was checked in quickly and directed to the waiting area. There was a bar with chairs for doing work as well as a charging station and outlets. There was a Keurig coffee machine as well as water and snacks. I was in and out in just a couple of hours. There was a slight misunderstanding about the charges I would find on my bill, but they did work to give me the correct price other than the miscellaneous $25 charge they put on all of their tickets. I was originally told it was around $10. They brought it down to $23. No one showed me how to use the new lock, which is slightly different than a normal locking system, and I found the keys for it in my console tray. That was a little disappointing as well as the quality of the car wash. They had also checked my in-cabin air filter and something fell down in it that looked like a piece of something and it was causing the AC fan to make a terrible noise. I stopped at another Honda dealership in Leesburg and they fixed it for me within minutes. read more

Let me first say I am still a Honda driver for life. With that out of the way, I will never do business at this dealership for service or otherwise. I had an issue with the battery in my 2017 Civic. They did nothing to help and actually didn't do the rotation and alignment I agreed to have done either. She wrote on my service summary that I declined services suggested. Nothing about the battery test she claimed they did when I talked to her on the phone. I never post negative reviews because I spent so much of my life in customer service so I can almost always give people the benefit of the doubt. This was over the top the worst interaction I have ever had with any company though. The waiting area is well lit, amply chaired and abundantly stocked with varied magazines. Making a day of it with kids in tow? Things could be far worse without the cool playroom with toys and electronics. Not at all overbearing, but absolutely service oriented - these folks offer hot/cold beverages and the snack bar could substitute as a mess Hall for our more impoverished student body - I.e., all four food groups appear represented and there's a broad range to choose from (if dining or snacking here is your thing). I have owned Honda and Acura vehicles north of 20 years and have always had my vehicles serviced either at Honda or Acura. When installing tires I always had my tires delivered at the dealer and had the dealer do the installation, balancing and alignment. Recently my son whom is living in Tallahassee FL, 500 miles away from home and goes to Florida State University at my request called and asked the dealer that he would like to schedule service to have his new set of 4 Michelin tires installed and was told that if he didn't buy the tires from Proctor Honda they would not do the service due to the privately own dealer policy, they site liability they incurred for installing tires they have not sold. I called to confirm this and was told the same. First time a Honda or an Acura dealer has rejected my business, I filed a complaint with American Honda not because I want to force the dealer to change their policies, I filed the complaint # 13233505 cause I am a loyal customer, as my sister in law, Nephew, Brother-in-law also are and I currently own a 2019 TLX and a 2022 Acura MDX and my son owns a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L a hand me down from me and prior to these cars I have owned 8 American Honda cars and during this time frame I have had excellent quality service not one complaint have I submitted in fact I have written multiple 5 star reviews for Largo Honda in Homestead FL and Miami Acura. Today that high quality north of 20 years excellent experience with American Honda case # 13233505 has come to an end not because of American Honda, but because of a privately owned Honda dealer as they describe themselves in Tallahassee FL the dealers name is Proctor Honda. Called Proctor to get a price on 4 bolts and 4 nuts for the upper control arms on my 2005 Honda S2000. They quoted me $68. After I told the parts guy that I found them online much cheaper, he said that they can't be OEM suspension bolts/nuts. So I told him that I'll pass on these and I called Flowers Honda in Thomasville GA. Gave the parts guy the OEM part numbers and he had them the following day. Total price was just under $20! Same parts that Proctor priced at $66! So, since I had prepaid oil changes through Honda Care from when I bought my 2018 Accord in LAS Vegas, I decided to use Proctor for this. Oil change went well, service rep was polite and efficient. However, he brought my cabin filter to the waiting room to show me how dirty it was (it was dirty!) and offered to replace it for $45! I said no thank you and bought 2 very favorably reviewed filters on Amazon for $13 shipped! Took me less than 5 minutes to replace. Obviously Proctor Honda does not care about repeat business - I'll give my business to Flowers Honda in Thomasville GA. read more

Be wary of this place. High labor charges for jobs completed at dealerships is no surprise. Just know if you get your car fixed here you are going to be paying quite a bit for labor and an up charge for parts. My greater frustration with this place is that despite the high costs: 1) they can never estimate accurately when your car is going to be finished 2) they cannot figure out how to have their phones answered and 3) their technicians aren't responsive if you want to check in for an update. Slow. Uncourteous. Two words to best describe service there. My wife and I both have Honda's. Both times we have brought our cars in, it has turned in to an entire day or more event. They say if you leave your car overnight they will get it in first thing in the morning. Doesn't mean anything. Oil change still took more than 4 hours. I believe they over schedule to keep the business. It's not right. I had an airbag recall. I called in January to put my name on the list. I literally called 6 plus months later and they told me, "they were getting ready to call me." Ya right. They forgot and I had to keep on them. Dropped my car off for the airbags the day before, once again it was going to be serviced. Was told again- will be done first thing. Called at 10---not done. They called me at 12 to tell me it needed brake pads. I asked what happened to my airbags and he replied, "oh." Finally picked up my car at 2 after I not only dropped off my car the day before, and had an appointment. This place is beyond slow with service, and for major things I go to other Honda dealers in the state to avoid the headaches and frustration. Service people are probably under pressure to get as many cars and business in, but simple things shouldn't take a day or more to get resolved. I'm done with this place. read more

I had the best new car buying experience at Proctor Honda. Greg Miller was my sales associate and was honest, straightforward, and personable. Other dealerships (such as Werner Hyundai) have typical salespeople using all the tricks in the book to force you to make a purchase. Proctor Honda, on the other hand, has genuine people who let you do things at your pace and work hard to give you the best deal they can. I highly recommend you ask for Greg Miller to assist you in purchasing a vehicle. I also want to specifically praise one of the managers (who's name escapes me). There was a small issue with the interest rate on my loan, and he was so kind and courteous in helping me figure things out. He was an exceptional communicator and helped me work through the issue. You won't find more kind, personable, and helpful people than at Proctor Honda! I informed him of me taking off work and driving one hour but he was apathetic. Told me I had two bad shock absorbers that needed to be replaced. When I pointed out that the previous week they only diagnosed ONE bad shock abosorber and I was going to get a second opinion....the service guy went into the garage for a few minutes and when he came back said the mechanic was only "suggesting" that both be replaced. When I asked him why I wasn't told THAT and given a choice of what to be repaired, he mumbled about confusion on the mechanics part. I explained to him that credibility was difficult to regain after doing such a fine job of losing it. Then he took the paper work and re-wrote it so that both a single shock and two shock replacements were quoted. Would YOUR wife or daughter know to question whether they needed two shocks absorbed replaced ($600+) vs only one ($300)? Be careful with these people! Asked to speak to the Service Manager....off sick. Went to the front desk to speak to the GM....not available. Left a message for the GM.....7 days later....no return call. Called Honda Customer Service...sorry....too bad....will let the district supervisor know. He MIGHT call you in a couple of weeks. read more

I was told they would try to get it done Friday, but worst case scenario was Saturday. Called 9 am Saturday, call was not returned. Called 12:30, they still had not run the diagnostic. Many phone calls later, diagnostics were finally run, bad alternator, new estimate (not sure why, same problem previously estimated) $1,050 and can't get it done until Monday. I asked why the estimate had changed and why it wouldn't be done as promised by Saturday, explanation: "Misunderstanding" or a "mistake." Not sure what happened, previously had good experiences with Proctor. Something has changed and not for the better. So sad, but I am done with Proctor Honda, and you have been warned. read more

A few weeks ago, we made an appointment for a repair online. There were openings for the next day and would take the earliest! When I arrived the next morning, a nice, enthusiastic guy outside asked me for my name. He couldn't find my file and looked embarrassed. He recommended that I go inside to figure out what was going on. At the desk, a young man helped me. He couldn't find my name, either, but then asked if I made the appointment online (who doesn't nowadays?). The issue was that I made the appointment after hours and it wouldn't appear yet. He then gestured to the pile of papers implying many people ahead of me, and said that they wouldn't get to me that day. I'm agreeable and understood, but was disappointed after having made an appointment, felt like I had been a pest for trying. Before rescheduling, he had me describe the issue, which other mechanics had observed but were puzzled by. It was hard to explain. Meanwhile, an older lady next to him had been squawking at men who seemed to be mechanics and seemed very irritated. She interrupted the guy helping me and had me describe my issue. The conversation just kept getting more awkward as I felt their stares, sure I was sinking further into failure at this place. She then suggested an easy fix--which had been tried--but this was ignored because she told me--I kid you not--to "Have my daddy or boyfriend try." I'm almost 40. I know I don't look or sound handy, but to say it to me like that! I was so embarrassed. I stood there in disbelief and let the young man reschedule. When I got in the car, I was furious. A few days later, I called to cancel but they couldn't find my appointment anyway! It was actually kind of funny. I decided that I'll go to the Thomasville dealership. I've heard good things about that place, but didn't want to go that far. Maybe I can make it into a more pleasant day trip than Tennessee Street makes. We've been to Proctor before and the experience had gone well enough, though I did recall that woman behind the counter being a bit unpleasant. She needs to work on her public face. Every employee at every level offers friendly, courteous professional service without fail. I've never experienced anyone here "having a bad day". In their clean, spacious waiting area you can watch tv if you like, or sit in their coffee shop atmosphere area and enjoy courtesy coffee, tea, cocoa or cappuccino along with a variety of free-for-the-taking snacks. If you need to work while you wait, several well outfitted cubicles are available to you, complete with a variety of chargers. They also provide free shuttle service. read more

I bought a Honda Ridgeline in SC, and then moved to the Tallahassee area, so when I needed service I went to the only Honda dealer here, Proctor Honda. I was not pleased, and the only reason I am posting here, is because I posted my feelings (which were positively negative) to the Proctor Honda site. I identified myself, with name and telephone #, and offered to help them improve their service. What did they do? THEY DELETED MY POST FROM THEIR SITE! Here is what happened. 1. I showed up, and the service agent wrote his paper notes on the hood of my vehicle. 2. I asked him to adjust the settings so when the vehicle is put in park, all doors unlock. Previously my wife would have to fumble to unlock her side so she could exit. He forgot. 3.When he returned my car, while there was another car in the car wash adjacent, mine had not been washed. He BS'd me, telling me it had been too cold to wash, and that the "bristles would damage the car." 4. He then asked an associate to wash my car, which he did, but ran right through the drying cycle, and returned my car dripping wet. 5. I got the name of the service manager so I could advise him next day. But upon calling, was given the only option to leave email. No voicemail. Now I realize everybody can have a bad day. A quick phone call to me advising the matter has been looked into would have been great. But the fact that they simply did not care that I had been treated less than well, ignored my complaint and then deleted my post, TICKED ME OFF! Oh, and by the way. The service was done correctly, in short time, and at a very reasonable price. My name is John Hugill (Sr.). Lets see if they delete this post. It's 5/25/15 and I have since been back, and had a good experience. It is the only act in town, so I'll be back. Most folks there seemed happy. Perhaps the kid I dealt with was the issue.
