I have been a member for over 25 years and I have never had any of my deposits returned BUT Wescom still treats me like I've only been with them for like 6 months - I am a realtor and get large deposits and every time I deposit my check it get a hold on it for almost 2 weeks !!! I called and tried to get it released and they said someone would call me back and they never did - I had to call again and spoke to Elizabeth and she said I should have took it up with the Riverside branch - but I told her I'll calling you !! I also told her I have been a member since 1997 and can't believe they still but such a long hold on my check - I also explained my escrows take up to 45 days to close so I really need my money to be release BUT She not self employed so why should she care :/ If you are self employed or have large deposits think twice about using this bank - I have had home loans - auto loans - and credit card loans with Wescom and they still don't trust me!! read more

This Wescom location is located in the Vons shopping plaza at the corner of Harbor and Adams in Costa Mesa. This is a standalone branch (meaning it's not located inside a grocery store). There are two Wescom ATMs outside - but what this also means if you bank with a Credit Union, is that you can withdraw cash fee-free with your ATM card as long as it has the CO-OP triangle on the back of the card. Ryan assisted me with my transaction today - and he was efficient, patient, and professional. I guess he also wears multiple hats too, since he was on the "teller" side of the branch when I had initially walked in, and walked up to his window to "check-in" for the appointment I had scheduled online. He walked me over to his desk across the way. This is a clean, bright and comfortable branch. There is a coin machine at the back, plenty of seating upfront as you walk in. Parking lot is big and I don't think there's ever an issue finding a spot upfront. read more

The three stars are for the branch, Ariana gets five I've been with Wescom for a long time. They are a great bank. Great customer service and they are so quick to catch and notify of card fraud. To make sure that continues, I have to say today this branch seemed understaffed. I walked in because I came with someone who needed a new account. We checked in with an iPad at the front, nobody was at the reception. The ATM was not working so I got money from a very nicer teller (Adriana? Ariana? I hope she forgives my bad memory). I went back to their waiting area for the new account. After waiting for a while I went back to the teller and she sincerely apologized for the wait. Seemed like their system didn't tell them we were waiting. There was only one person on the desks the whole time working with the same customer since we arrived. Ariana helped us open the account. The same staff is doing two jobs. In the meantime the line of customers waiting for tellers started growing. I know that is a manager's problem. Manager, please staff accordingly or pay more to your staff doing two jobs so they stay as nice and efficient as Ariana when the members are annoyed for waiting for any of the services because it will happen no matter how nice they are. The team at the Costa Mesa branch gets a 20/10 from me! I had recent fraud on my account and Yolanda assisted me in getting a new instant card issued on Saturday. While waiting for my card to print it was a pleasure chatting with her about upcoming holiday season. To my own fault, I forgot I needed checks! On my second visit with another rep (who's name I forget) , she was just as delightful in printing me temporary checks to make sure I can write my rent check today AND assisted in ordering me a full box of checks. Absolutely ridiculous! I came in for a replacement debit card & my whole lunch hour was taken up waiting for a new one. I have gone to the location in Orange & I am LITERALLY out with in 5-10 minutes. I've taken family members there as well & same process goes. There were no customers in here & it's a Friday. People standing around & talking. Wth?! I'm just really frustrated because I've gone through this before & it's never taken this long. Chris walked up to me right away and was super friendly and helpful. got everything i needed taken care of. i saw the coin room and asked Chris what it was. He said you can bring in coins and it gets counted and the amount gets put into your account. Perfect! The person that helped me wasn't friendly, hardly said a word to me. I attempted to make small talk with a big smile more than once and all I got was a "yes", or simple "no". The vibe and energy that I received today is not what customers should be receiving day in and day out. I belong to a different credit union. As a credit union member I am supposed to be able to use any credit union ATM to withdraw money. I can use any other ATM except Wescom's. Why. Wescom blocks me from using their ATM's. I tried this morning to withdraw money from a Wescom ATM, closest to my home, and was denied. I drove to a Teacher's Credit union and was able to withdraw money. This is not the first time this has happened. I believe all other credit unions should deny Wescom members from using their ATM's. Wescom does it to others it should be done back to them. Wescom is basically scum. read more

Best credit union around and handle everything professionally, timely and thoroughly.

I visited this new location a couple days ago for the first time after they moved from Fairview and baker. It was nice to see familiar faces, associate greeting customers and everything new inside. Sad part: there were about 4 guys and girls at the counters, 2 of them talking to each other), it took more than 5 min for one of them to make eye contact with me to ask if I needed help, I went up to one and deposited my money, he did not say good morning or even hi. After he finished my transaction I asked him if he could fax a doc for me, which they had done before at the other location since I bank with them and he said no because of liability issues. I have no idea how this branch changed so much in their customer service, I would rather have the old location with excellent customer service, than a new fancy location with horrible customer service. read more

I had opened an account here and I loved it and the people are very friendly, very helpful I just hate how I had money in my account, I bought something for under $5 and it took days to go through so by the time it went through my account was overdrawn. I kept trying to log into my app but the password stopped working, which I thought was extremely strange because I know I was using the right password. I called and they gave me my balance but couldn't help me with the password issue. I put the $5 into my account to take care of the late fee and I then they still charged me late fees on top of that and closed my account. I came back the other day to reopen my account and the fee was up to $16 which I didn't even know where they got that number because when they closed my account the guy said I was short 36 cents. Anyways, they flagged the fee which was nice. But about a week after opening my new account I went to use the ATM outside this branch because it was a Sunday. I never had issues with the ATMS but the first one wouldn't accept my money and kept saying "only up to 50 bills" I only had 30 bills, I tried it with under 10 bills and still wouldn't take it so I moved to the next ATM and his ATM stole my money. The transaction was going though and I accepted the amount and then the card just ejected and no receipt came out so I checked my account online and the $135 I put in was GONE! I was so scared and pissed, I called the number on the ATM and the guy was acting very non-chalant about it. He checked the ATM history he saw I put the money in but he only gave me a credit back until they locate MY money. So who knows what's going to happen. Very annoying and frustrating thing to happen...I hope the money is located. I asked the guy why this would happen and he blamed it on crumpled bills. I spent forever straightening them out and even on the ATM next to this one, it cancels and doesn't go through, you get a receipt and your money back. Not a machine taking your money. I told him you should probably have somebody fix your machines then but he didn't care, he said only if it keeps happening. Somebody higher up called me and explained everything but I still didn't change my review and now I just checked my account and missing at least $200 from my account without a trace. I really hope tomorrow when I go in to resolve my issue that they fix this, I'm about to close my account. This is why I hate banks. I don't touch my money in my account, there is no reason that money should be missing. More money keeps mysteriously going missing, now iTunes charged me $5 and that actually showed up on my statement but I did not make an iTunes purchase while I was sleeping. The charge doesn't even show in my iTunes and App Store purchase history. The lady I called and spoke to said I can just get a new card and told me to call back tomorrow to resolve my other issues of missing monsy because supposedly the manager wasn't in today even though right before this she said "let me check with my manager". read more

Been a Wescom member for 4 years now and get nothing but great service. All the branches I go to are great but this one I receive the best customer service. It may be that I spent more time here because I began using some additional services but they do great work. I cannot remember the name of the girl responsible for the Auto Insurance but she has been a pleasure to work with as well as the other associates who I worked with in the past. I have read the other reviews and have been a member for almost 10 years and I have to say since the move, I don't recognize any of the tellers either but only the branch manager who is awesome. I inadvertently added a 0 for a payment and she helped me out with reversing everything. Another time I used a 24 hr gas pump around 2am and it put a bunch of charges on my card that apparently is standard if you happen to get gas when the cashier is updating the system. One of the tellers helped me with that and normalized the situation for me and all was well the next day. They all seem to be friendly and I have had no issues although I only make simple deposits. I am considering a loan so maybe I will report back if I do decided to use WC or my other CU. I have more issues with their online application's consistency and membership points expiring/disappearing/no cumulative record to look at to see how they are spent. Midnight phone support was iffy regarding friendliness but they are probably a 3rd party call center. But as for this branch I would say you will have a pleasant experience. It's in a large shopping center with a Starbucks, Vons, CVS, etc. This Branch also has a coin counter so you can bring in your piggy bank/plastic gallon jug of coins and walk out with cold hard cash :) read more

Customer service is awful. Thankfully, I don't bank with them and I wouldn't even bank with them if they offered the best service and incentives. I went in this morning after breakfast, remembering I was gifted a check for a small amount as a Christmas present. The cashier didn't say her name, she kept tossing her hair and sniffling. Then begins to interrogate me on why and who and what for. She proceeds to say you're the 5th one coming in here from the same person. Uhm, not my problem if it's a big deal either keep it, cash it, or give it back and I'll give it back to the person who gifted it to me. 15 minutes of hair tosses, shaking and sniffling later she cashed the check. Slides the money to me, no thank you's, no have a good day, no thanks for coming in, no f you's for being in front me on Christmas Eve. I just know, I wouldn't come here again and they should put the sweet receptionist as a cashier and the hair tosser in the back somewhere. read more
