Clean, Organized, and Tasty! This donut store is closer to downtown. The owners were very sweet. I saw another yelper say that the apple fritter was good and they were correct. Not too greasy...great when warmed a bit. My only negative comment was the chocolate old-fashioned was a bit dry. Maybe from yesterday. But I will be back to try some more. read more

I stopped in the morning while driving by, hoping for great donuts based on the many positive reviews for the shop, only to be letdown by a lack of selection and donuts fried in old oil. I arrived at Wesley Doughnuts at 8:30 a.m. to see a fairly sparse donut case. The fellow working the counter wasn't friendly, but wasn't exactly grouchy... just kind of there. I ordered an old fashioned glazed cake donut, a chocolate eclair with cream filling, and a vanilla frosted sprinkle donut for my son. I ate the old fashioned first and the taste immediately threw me off, as it was fried in old oil, or something had been fried in the oil that gave off a funky taste. The donut was passable, a bit on the dry side and not as good as the other old fashioned donuts I've tried in Greenville. The chocolate filled eclair was better, notably because it had a delightfully crisp crust on the bottom. However, it still had the funky oil taste, but was much better than the old fashioned. My son loved his frosted sprinkle donut as dessert, so he was happy. I had a tiny bite of it and was put off by the same weird old oil taste, though. I was hoping for a great local gem, but that was not the case with this visit. Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day. If nothing else, their donuts are very cheap. I'll likely give them a shot again on the chance they can turn things around. read more

Donuts are good. The lady usually working the counter is very friendly. Wish they had a drive through, but the food is very good (won't disappoint). Just one recommendation. Customers would appreciate whoever owns the Honda SUV to please park their car away from the front door. I've walked around that vehicle many times. Tried this place today. The BEST doughnuts in town. The old fashioned doughnuts are buttery and on point. The jalapeño sausage rolls are better than anywhere I've been in Greenville. Everything is visually appealing and clean. I was immediately greeted when I came in, and served with amazing service. A couple weekends ago, my fiancé and our son brought home donuts from this shop. I was working, but ate some the next morning and thought "meh, they're donuts." But since then I've been craving them, so I decided to venture out for some this morning. This is actually the closest shop to my house, but I've never been because it's the least direct way to the highway. I've been to 2 other shops in town-one which is dirty as all get out and the other where they look at you crazy when you go through the drive thru. Now, in my hometown (we just moved to Greenville a few months ago), there is no such thing as an actually good donut. There's one place that is run by the sweetest lady who remembers everyone who comes through the door and is covered in save the dates and baby announcements. This lady is PROUD of her community. People tend to go there because of that and I have considered that my donut spot for the last 12 years. Let me tell you that when I stepped through the door at Wesley Donuts, I already knew I had found my new donut spot. It's so clean inside! I mean, even the trays where donuts had been sold off were clean. It even smelled like donuts and cleaner. I was in heaven already. Also? Both the counter and the refrigerator were fully stocked and ready for customers. The woman working the counter was so kind and patient while I chose about 6 different kinds of donuts to come home with me. I could see a man through the back rolling out dough and it was mesmerizing while I waited for the other person in the shop to finish up with his order. When it was my turn, I got a couple of glazed donuts, which were sheer heaven--light with the perfect amount of glaze, a couple blueberry-which I am a sucker for and these were such a treat, an old fashioned cinnamon (which knocked my socks off), 2 croissant sausage rolls-which in my opinion, took the cake, chocolate donut holes (which I recommend), and a glazed lemon filled. I know that last one isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that's what finally satiated my craving. The lady was even so kind as to throw in a chocolate sprinkle donut and some extra donut holes. These are some of the best donuts I've ever had. I am in hog heaven having taken a bite out of each of these, and now I just have to find a suitable place to hide the remains so that my fiancé won't eat them! read more
