I've never heard of TreePeople and rarely want to venture into Beverly Hills but my wife was pretty stoked on checking this place out so that's exactly what we did. We showed up around 8:00AM and were lucky enough to snag a parking spot in the lot. The lot itself was pretty packed and clearly many other people had the same exact idea that we did. Once all three dogs were ready to go we enjoyed about 45 minutes of walking before the senior dogs needed to return and pass out in the back seat., fun I know. This area is super nice and has a bunch of different places to sit down on benches and get some amazing views of the city I call home. I'm not sure what the group was, but there was a big group of people being followed by a truck so at one point we had to jump on some stairs and get out of the way, not sure what was going on. The part we did was pretty much the entrance up a few small hills and over to a second bench area, but I'm definitely trying to come back here to hike the mountain at some point. Overall, this place was beautiful and definitely somewhere worth checking out if in the city. The trails I saw were clean and the place is clearly taken care of. I'll absolutely be back soon to hike the trails a bit more without my old dogs and I very much look forward to it.

They do an outstanding job at everything. They have the best customer service of any store that I have been to and they all go out of their way to assist people and make them feel like they are a part of a wholesome and welcoming environment. They are all so friendly, have the utmost professionalism and treat everyone with a tremendous amount of dignity and respect. Their selection of merchandise is rotated very frequently, many times daily and the pricing and discounts are all very favorable for customers. All of their hard work shows in the way the entire store is kept from the cleanliness to the processes they have in place daily to ensure that everyone is satisfied with their visit. They even go out of their way to welcome you when you come into the store. I have also seen times when customers get upset and drivers have bad attitudes with deliveries, but Kenny and his staff always maintain the highest level of professionalism. The Salvation Army is so blessed and fortunate to have Kenny and his staff because they add a significant amount of value to the Encino operation and the entire organization. I have been to other Salvation Army stores and I hate to say it, but I am treated like just another number at all the rest except for Encino. So much to the point that I stopped going to any other stores except for Encino. That is not the reason why. Living literally 5 minutes away from this food bank, (walking distance), I still wanted to be some sort of help to them and help the homeless community and feed the hungry people that are practically everywhere. They have couple of entrances adjacent to eachother and are affiliated with the church next door. With that being said, I packed up a bag of goodies and walked over there at 8:15AM on 7/27/26. They are only open on Mondays and Fridays. (Please update your hours on Yelp so you don't confuse people). Some volunteer workers really go out of their way to help people, and a few others will give you a blank, confused, and lost stare that makes you feel very small, like Daniel the other day. On the bright side, Barbra and the director of this food bank named Sloan were helpful, kind, positive, softspoken and knowledgeable. Anyway, packed my bag with: 2 boxes of Rice-a-Roni Pasta, 2 cans of Progresso Chicken Noodle soup, 1 box of family size Kellogs Berry cereal, variety of Oatmeals, 4 Toto Cookies. Some other types of canned food, 2 boxes of Macaroni & Cheese, 1 bag of Plain Bagels, (count of 6), one big box of Macadamia Nut cookies, and a single, small, lonely chips. This is NOT my first time donating food to them. I have seen a few perishable and non-perishable items/products with expired dates on them. That is UNACCEPTABLE!! They wouldn't eat it, so why give it to someone else?? This pantry is only donations for food/beverages. Nothing else. They also get food from our local supermarkets such as Ralphs, Vons, Trader Joe's, and Sprouts. Before they open, there is a long line outside to pick up a bag or two. Overall, it's not a bad place, but few volunteers need to go that extra mile, put a genuine/sincere smile on their faces and pretend not to be SO pretentious.. The value of the food is what you make it to be!
