I've been coming to the Salvagion Army Boutique in Encino since it opened over 15 years ago, and I can honestly say I have never seen the store look as good as it does today. Every time I come in, Kenneth and his team are kind, professional, and welcoming. Kenneth always goes out of his way to help me whenever I'm shopping, and it's clear that he genuinely cares about both tbe customer and his store. The staff is always courteous, friendly, and respectful to everyone who walks through the doors. The store is clean, organized, and well-maintained, making it a pleasure to shop there. I wanted to take a moment to praise, recognize and recommend manager Kenny Patino and all of his staff at this Encino store for all that they do day in and day out for all of the customers. They do an outstanding job at everything. They have the best customer service of any store that I have been to and they all go out of their way to assist people and make them feel like they are a part of a wholesome and welcoming environment. They are all so friendly, have the utmost professionalism and treat everyone with a tremendous amount of dignity and respect. Their selection of merchandise is rotated very frequently, many times daily and the pricing and discounts are all very favorable for customers. All of their hard work shows in the way the entire store is kept from the cleanliness to the processes they have in place daily to ensure that everyone is satisfied with their visit. They even go out of their way to welcome you when you come into the store. I have also seen times when customers get upset and drivers have bad attitudes with deliveries, but Kenny and his staff always maintain the highest level of professionalism. The Salvation Army is so blessed and fortunate to have Kenny and his staff because they add a significant amount of value to the Encino operation and the entire organization. I have been to other Salvation Army stores and I hate to say it, but I am treated like just another number at all the rest except for Encino. So much to the point that I stopped going to any other stores except for Encino. I do hope that they are all recognized one day for the tremendous efforts that they make on a consistent basis and I highly recommend that you stop in and get to know them. I've been driving past here for years and I finally went and now I go there quite frequently. What a great thrift store with amazing finds and such a great staff. I met the store manager Kenny and he's so nice and helpful. The rest of the crew are great too! Jason, Suzy and Natalie are awesome too. I appreciate what they do, but there staff is not that motivated to receive donations. I get the sense that this is just a job for the people that work there, but people are donating their stuff for people in need, and they could embrace the ideology of Service. They are part of a process that assists people in need. It takes time for people with things to donate to drop them off, and to be told that they are not accepting donations at a given time is a shame and contrary to the mission they represent. I went to Goodwill instead. Super easy, pleasant and nice. Goodwill will get our donations moving forward. read more

This is a very neat, clean, & well organized store. Parking at a meter right around the corner was easy. Racks were organized in mens & womens sections, with subsections for sleeveless, long sleeve, jackets, dresses, purses, homegoods, etc. The prices I saw here today were double or triple the price of what I think the items really should be priced at though. I didn't see anything that I would truly consider to be "boutique" items (which is what the sign on the window of this small location calls itself). They had a few pairs of worn kids Vans, clean Nike & Lakers hats, Nike dresses, each priced at $10 - $15ish. Things I'd expect to see at a regular (not boutique) location, but priced lower. A couple Kipling purses/bags were $27ish, mens long & short sleeve button down shirts were $10-$15. Of course you never know what you will find thrifting, so perhaps it was an off week... read more

Very limited furniture which is what I was looking for. They had racks of clothes. I did buy curtain rods which were new and a good deal!

it is very expensive here, no thrift store prices, they now charge high prices like new merchandise at Ross or Home Goods- greedy!

Good finds at times. Got a blue puffy for $8. Good t shirts at times. Many Hollywood production t's and jackets at times.

I really like the staff here and I think they keep a clean, organized store. But prices here have gotten kind of out of hand. I'm currently furnishing our new home with vintage items to match our historic home. I have a lot of square footage to cover in our new house so I'm here pretty often looking for stuff. I may not go back as much anymore because of my visit today. First, I had come back to buy a glass jar that I almost bought the week before, hoping it would still be there. It was. Only now it was marked up over 100% (from $6.99 to $14.99- see pic). The week before the item was 50% off which they do for items that have been there a long time. The new tag gave the item a new date, so it wasn't on sale anymore either. Then, I saw an old Budweiser beer glass for $6.99 that I had seen the exact same one for $0.99 at Goodwill. I didn't want to buy it, I was just surprised at the cost. I'm not sure why the prices have increased so much in a single week but I think at these prices I can probably go to an antique mall to find stuff because it's a little more curated. I might still go back and look once in awhile, but I probably wouldn't go as much as before. read more

This place is probably the nicest assortment of stuff in the area Salvation Army stores. It has a good appliance and electronics section. The clothes really are gently used. My issue is the parking lot. It is tough, really tough to get in and out. You need to wait for other cars to pivot out of the lot to get out when you feel the least likely to get dinged by another car. Unless you are dropping off, it's probably a good idea to park on the street with a lot less stress. read more

There is staff whom is very kind. One manager did not allow me to return a purchase that was placed on the floor as functional. As I get home to plug it in, the electronic did not work. I went back a few days later and the girl with the long brown hair was very cold and told me "no". It is unfortunate because I spend so much money here, and she automatically said "no". Meanwhile I could have gone to another store and received an exchange. However, I want to say manager Norma is absolutely amazing. I did not say anything to her because she's there to make your experience the best. And I did not want to cause trouble. Remember all purchases are final sale. Any electronics, do not purchase unless you check if it works. Or else your are out $25 bucks or more. read more

I love this store but I love it more when Sylvia is there. She is the sweetest and the most professional I've ever seen in all salvation army's locations. I wish she good be at this location all the time. She always makes me feel so welcomed and very helpful about the items that I'm interested. I never come out empty handed when she is there , she shows me the stuff that for some reason I couldn't see, the treasures ! Love her and this place I'm giving 5 star just for her not for other woman that has been there for long, I don't know her but she is not friendly at all , just bring her friends over there showing them the stuff "good stuff" and speaking Spanish with them like other people don't exist in the shop . Do not do business with Salvation Army - for a number of reasons. We have donated money to the Salvation Army for years. This is this is the first time we have offered them furniture donation and schedule a pick up. We have two couches that are in good condition - extremely comfortable. There are two small tears that can easily be repaired and two of the cushions show some stains. These can be cleaned - or - what we did is we fitted a couch cover on both couches and is looked great. We could probably sell these couches for a decent amount of money, but decided to donate. We scheduled pickup. When scheduling, I described the couches with the two stains and a two minor tears. At no time did they tell me this would mean they wouldn't pick up. We waited four days for them to come and they decided not to pick them up. They should have told us that two minor stains and two small tears would mean that we would be waiting 4 days only to be rejected. I've researched this organization and there are lots and lots of negative reports about them -j including reports that they are biased against certain groups of people (prejudice). I recommend you not give them your items. They are argumentative on the phone. This place is great and the staff is friendly, great antique furniture and name brand clothing. Sometimes they also have a collection of nice handbags. Just don't forget to bring change for the parking meter that's outside the store. But more importantly is that on the last day of the month they have a great sale, $5 clothing you can't beat that with a stick. read more

I used to go to various thrift stores second hand shopping from one end of the valley to the other until I found the Salvation Army in Encino. It's a mighty boutique store, it's very clean, and the staff if incredibly helpful, in particular Joshua(Josh), Teague and of course Jill. I visit at least once a week and I've found some pretty nice new things. You just need time to browse the entire shop. read more

Make no mistake. This is NOT a thrift store. The Salvation Army has been attempting to become more exclusive for many many years, first with the "boutique" sections in their regular stores, and now, individual stores that take the best donations and jack the prices up to be mostly on par with actual antique stores. The Goodwill has also ripped off the public with their rising prices. I thrift for a hobby, but I think it's terrible for those who HAVE to shop at thrift stores to pay such high prices. Check out the thrift stores that don't try to gouge their customers in the name of charity. There are plenty. read more

This Salvation Army boutique is my MOST favorite thrift store! It is a smaller location but they really keep it full of exceptional finds. I have gotten everything here from clothes to a beautiful vintage storage chest to small wall decor and books. They often have brand name jeans like True Religion or Free People for $15-30. I also like that they have an array of vintage finds from cups and saucers to really beautiful furniture pieces. I live about 15-20 minutes from the store but I would definitely keep coming back if I lived even 45minutes to an hour away. This is a store you must check out and return every week or so to see what other treasure you may find! The employees are also very kind and always helpful! Carlos, Josh and Segue (sp?) are my favorites. read more

I went out of my way to get to the shop. Arrived at 5:45 PM. Lights on, staff member there, door locked. He indicated they were closed. Annoying and not right----supposed to be open till six. Six is six, not 5:45, or whatever time they decided to call it a day. Unfortunately this is a trend with many small retail establishments these days. God forbid that a customer should still be in the store ready to check out at 6!!! Always do the minimum it takes to get by in life, right? Thrift shops around the country are disappearing, even when part of large chains like Housing Works in New York, as rents soar and minimum wage laws cause a rise in labor costs. Turning away a live retail customer at your door in this day and age is just plain stupid. read more

great selection here, a majority of my outfits are from this particular thrift shop. The salvation army also has the best deals in this entire area and surprisingly the clothes are usually in great condition and aren't too beat up. I tried to make donations and thought I had scheduled a pickup for 6/30/17. I was offering an antique table, a computer, a wall clock, a table with extension legs, a coffee maker and a coffee table. I was assured the items would be picked up. No one showed up to receive my donations. I called and was told the pickup that I had scheduled "was not on the computer." I was moving out of my office and was further told I had to leave the items outside my office. I turned in my keys, so the items I attempted to donate were in front of my building, as directed, and could not be returned to my office. I was then told that another pickup could be scheduled for July 8th. By then I would be long gone. I don't recommend that you try to donate to the Salvation Army because they are obviously very unreliable. read more
