Went back to buy a glass jar that was $6.99 the week before and discovered they had marked it up over 100%
Diana Y.

I really like the staff here and I think they keep a clean, organized store. But prices here have gotten kind of out of hand. I'm currently furnishing our new home with vintage items to match our historic home. I have a lot of square footage to cover in our new house so I'm here pretty often looking for stuff. I may not go back as much anymore because of my visit today. First, I had come back to buy a glass jar that I almost bought the week before, hoping it would still be there. It was. Only now it was marked up over 100% (from $6.99 to $14.99- see pic). The week before the item was 50% off which they do for items that have been there a long time. The new tag gave the item a new date, so it wasn't on sale anymore either. Then, I saw an old Budweiser beer glass for $6.99 that I had seen the exact same one for $0.99 at Goodwill. I didn't want to buy it, I was just surprised at the cost. I'm not sure why the prices have increased so much in a single week but I think at these prices I can probably go to an antique mall to find stuff because it's a little more curated. I might still go back and look once in awhile, but I probably wouldn't go as much as before.

Purses which could be a little more organized

Very clean, quiet atmosphere, friendly staff. Enjoyed looking through everything, surprisingly a lot of there clothes are new with tags. Prices could be lower but overall great experience.

Purchased this beautiful mannequin and got good discount on 2nd one.

Very limited furniture which is what I was looking for. They had racks of clothes. I did buy curtain rods which were new and a good deal!

it is very expensive here, no thrift store prices, they now charge high prices like new merchandise at Ross or Home Goods- greedy!

They have an incredible variety and are very helpful in store and as brokers to find what you are looking for even if they don't have it in store. Great staff too! The store has a very welcoming atmosphere, very open feeling, not at all claustrophobic like some stores can be. Love the background music too, especially the jazz - keeps me in my happy place while treasure hunting. We love the Retail Therapy sessions held on the first Friday of every month, not only is there wine, cheese and crackers and sweets and treats, but the entire store is discounted 15% - that's always a welcome bonus. Who didn't love a discount?! My most favorite type of therapy. We've enjoyed getting to know the owners and some of the dealers who happen to be there when we are, they're helpful and informative. And on the QT, sometimes they authorize discounts - if they can - on the items in their booths, especially when you buy multiple items. I saw on their Instagram that the next Retail Therapy session will be a Christmas Party - we'll be there with bells on and bringing our shopping list! Highly recommended to others. And while you're there, there's a number of antique stores there on Sherman Way - they're gradually working to revitalize the Historic Antique Row in Canoga Park. 2 new stores have been born out of the dealers in Main Street Vintage - check out Artfully Made (Sherman Way, all handmade items) and Vintage Home (Owensmouth, just opened 11/2/25), plus the owners also have Retro Relics 2 doors away from Main Street Vintage - another great selection there! Hope you have as much fun as we do. And visit the Real Juicery on Remmet for great juices, smoothies and bowls (more great owners!). Plus, 2 coffee shops opened this year on Sherman Way, Trio and Jessie's Grind (latter has the most fabulous doors!!) Support our local businesses . Our community needs small businesses, and the ones I've mentioned are absolutely worth a visit... or 2... or 50

My boyfriend and I found one of this rescue's dogs after she had been intentionally left alone at Rustic Canyon Park at night. The owner later admitted to me that she had hoped someone would simply pick the dog up. She also later texted us asking if we would keep the dog because she no longer wanted her anymore. I have text messages documenting these conversations. Rather than turning our backs on the situation, we opened our home to this dog, paid for her care, spent days with her, and worked to find her a safe future. We had absolutely nothing to gain--we simply didn't want an abandoned dog to end up in danger. The dog also had a reported bite history, making the situation even more serious. I expected the rescue to recognize the gravity of what had happened and work collaboratively to ensure the dog's safety and the safety of the public. Instead, I was met with defensiveness and hostility. During my conversation with the rescue, I was told the owner was "a good person" despite the fact that she had intentionally abandoned the dog, later admitted she no longer wanted her, and asked us to keep her permanently. My concerns were dismissed, and I was spoken to disrespectfully despite the fact that I had stepped in solely to help. I fully understand that the rescue may have had the legal right to take the dog back. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and appreciation shown toward someone who volunteered their own time, money, and home to protect one of their dogs after it had been abandoned. When they picked the dog up, they refused to provide even a general reassurance about her future or care. While I understand not disclosing confidential information such as a foster or trainer's identity, the complete lack of transparency only added to my concern. I hope Athena is ultimately safe and receives the training and responsible placement she deserves. I also hope this rescue reflects on how it communicates with members of the public who step in to protect animals in crisis. Kindness, accountability, and professionalism should never be too much to ask.
