Let me just say, I pray this place stays open forever. My boyfriend and I had the greatest experience ever. I love the look of this place, it has such a familial atmosphere, almost as if you are dining at your grandmas house. The food was great and so filling. I walked past this bbq joint & saw that the reviews were good. So, I braved myself to check it out because usually hole in the wall restaurants are the best. I wanted coke but it was just canned coke so I opted for water. But the water tasted like metal. When my meal was served, I was disappointed at the amount of chips on the plate. Then the brisket was steaming hot but not very much meat. I think the brisket might have been microwaved. The bun was toasty & the best part of the meal. The company was excellent. We enjoyed meeting Wes and learning about his story and we knew people in common. He was very friendly and his wife was too. They did a super job of taking care of us and we enjoyed the food. It was prepared hot and fresh for us. The place is kitschy and old school - very cool if you're into places where the walls tell stories and the people do too. And the bonus is the food is good too! There is a console gaming machine in the corner with lots of video games. Cool, fun stop and glad we came! read more

Been here a few times for bbq and for the burgers. It's definitely a bbq joint. When you walk in you can smell the smoke from all the years from the smoke pits. There pork sandwiches with fries is what I usally get from here. The burgers are delicious as well. So if your looking for a great place to grab some bbq you need to stop here. read more

This is the perfect little BBQ and burger joint. Wes and his wife love the place and their customers and it shows. There is a little smoke on the walls, but you want that in a BBQ joint. The oven looks old, but that's because it is. It's one of the ovens that I used at Ken's Pizza (later Bullseye Pub) in the 1970's. The BBQ is some of the best I ever ate and the burgers are great! The restaurant is rundown, but don't let that deter you from the great food. I always get the double cheeseburger meal with a side of potato salad. The owners are super friendly and the food is great. If you're looking for a great hometown BBQ joint try this place out, don't be deterred by the appearance of the restaurant. PS. Wes's barbecue is small and doesn't look great, but when you're paying 5 bucks for a whole meal what do you expect? They deliver for free, which is awesome. I only give it 2 stars because I feel sorry for these folks Place was dirty. Staff was dirty. The inside of the building smells very bad. All that being said, I was still willing to give it a try, figuring that the food must be unbelieveable since it's been here forever. So bad. Tatertots were the highlight, and they were just tatertots. If this wasn't a family business, and if the family wasn't so nice, this place would be 1 star no questions asked. The only reason I am even reviewing, is because there are 2 other reviews and they are quite misleading if you ask me. Classic hole-in-the-wall bbq restaurant. The bbq is delish and at a great price. It's very close to downtown, but just off the beaten path so you usually have to hear about it from someone else before you find out about it. We were in town for BBBQ and a local who said he was a BBQ conesuer recommended this place...what a mistake. He said the place was a little sketch on the outside, but had great food, he was right on the sketch part and we would not have minded if the food was great but it was mediocre at best. No brisket, no ribs, no burnt ends. We got the pork and beef and it was just okay, nothing special at all. Baked beans a notch better. Fried okra was pretty decent. Nice enough old gent running the place, but very dirty inside, looks like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in years. Only canned sofa, no bottled water. read more

Great food and service. I ate at this place all the time when I lived in fayetteville. I say one of the best burgers in town. They have no decore and the place is as bare bones as it gets. The place is filled with locals of all ages. Most poeple who eat a wes's are known by name. Good old hometown spot to slow down life a bit. One of my favorite little local eats, been going here since the early 2000's and I've always loved it. Burgers and fries are great! It is semi dirty, yes, but I've eaten in worse kitchens at people's houses, it just looks bad because it is in dire need of renovations. Very friendly service, they deliver for free within a certain radius, and that comes in real handy when you're hungover and need something greasy in your belly. I take all of my friends here, especially out of town ones, and I've never heard a complaint yet. read more

Wes' is the epitome of hometown diner. The greasy walls, friendly service, personal photographs, and AMAZING food all add to the charm of the restaurant. Their BBQ sauce is perfect, the beef is tender, and my chicken strips were huge, and so delicious they didn't even need ranch, ketchup, or any other condiment. Everything was hot and juicy, and the French fries were the perfect amount of crispy. You can definitely tell this man loves his little diner, and his customers. read more
