For their back to the right, you'll find a random embroidered, colorful wall art and furniture pieces. Up the stairs is a restaurant and some additional gallery or artwork as well. I stroll through the store and there are a few Black folks, so I'm like okay cool. I pick up my fruit, grab some eggs (because you always need eggs) and head to the counter. When it's my turn, a lady exchanges places with the original cashier and rings me up. No hello, good day, is this all for you. She totals my order, then steps away and the original cashier returns and looks at me. I said oh hello. And he just points towards the pay machine. Well, I completely declined to spend my money and said my neither of you said hello and left. Listen, customer service is real and I refuse to spend my money at any establishment that doesn't respect that. And their freaking smocks say they are here for the customer. There were once two standalone arcades, the Colonial (built in 1898) and Euclid (build in 1911). These two structures were combined into the 5th Street Arcades. These arcades hold a lot of history and retail. AMBIANCE: The 5th Street Arcades are adorned with history - ornate ceilings and trims. Don't forget to look up and take in all the beauty. The space includes two walkways accessible from the Euclid Avenue and near East 4th. Should you use a ride share, consider the existence of various entrances. Arcades include retail and dining. There are only a handful of businesses. I most recommend Geraci's pizza (delicious pizza in diner setting), Intro (for fun outfits for your downtown outings), Coco's Selfie Studio (for documenting your family's moment), Rocket Fizz (for candy nostalgia), and Colossal Cupcakes (for the most Instagrammable sweets). You'll also find something very nostalgic - shoe shine! Ensure that you check the working hours of these establishments, most stores remain closed on weekends and have odd hours. Check retail and dining directory on the 5th Street Arcades website. HOLIDAY MARKETS: The 5th Street Arcades will be hosting Holiday Makers Market this Christmas season. They will be on weekends - Saturdays and Sundays. PARKING: Parking is available at various parking lots downtown (Euclid Avenue or by E 4th Street). If you're staying as a tourist in the city, it's an easy walk from all the hotels on Euclid Avenue. Personally, I enjoy the 5th Street Arcades for the architectural experience and not so much the businesses. There is nothing in the building that would consistently keep me coming back. The Arcades now stand mostly deserted. It would have been great to see them years ago in their full vibrancy.

It was a highlight of the trip! The market is right downtown in a gorgeous old building, make sure to look at the ceilings. There are public parking areas all around outside, but it does get busy. There are also side buildings and outdoor stalls nearby, so be sure to check them out. Inside is rows upon rows of amazing local vendors with food to enjoy there, or many items to buy and take home. Meat counters, fresh vegetables and fruit, sauces, Middle Eastern food, Greek, Mexican, Gyros, sandwiches, baked goods, salads and so much more are all over. Even stalls that repeat the same types of items have their own unique spin and history. It's busy, with people everywhere looking and enjoying their purchases. Prices are reasonable, especially how fresh and local everything is. I bought a bunch of small things to eat while we walked, together we bought shishkabobs and steak to enjoy at home the following day. It's a great place to shop local!

When I return, I fully intend to walk through this market, buy from no fewer than 10 stalls, and somehow end up preparing enough food for 25 people--even if it's only my family of four. The specialties here are endless. The uncooked pierogies nearly broke my heart because I had no way to take them home and cook them myself. Sausage lovers will be in heaven, and beyond that, you'll find incredible produce, fresh fish, quality proteins, and a wonderful representation of the many cultures that make Cleveland what it is. All of this is housed inside a historic building with stunning architecture that makes the experience even better. Pro tip: Climb the stairs to the second floor for an incredible bird's-eye view of the entire market. It's the perfect way to appreciate just how special this Cleveland landmark really is.

And so, when they hosted Sunday Market, I made it a priority to visit. The Bank is centrally located on Detroit Road. They have a small parking lot to accommodate daily visitors. Event attendees can park in the adjacent CVS plaza. This weekend's event was pretty lively, and no one experienced an issue with parking. The exterior and interior of the building are very modern, minimalistic, and clean. I love the aesthetic - predominance of black and white, wood details. The hair salon occupies the majority of the space. The rest is dedicated to retail space housed in glass offices. It's a very interesting and future-forward concept. Think hair salon and boutiques. You can check out any tenants on their individual websites and social media. The current tenants/team includes the following: Lather - Hair Salon Nomad Well Traveled - Globally inspired clothing, shoes, accessories, and home decor Remnants - Bag company Shirley Vu Nails - Nail salon I visited Lather and Nomad Well Traveled during Sunday Market. I did not have any interactions with the employees of Lather. I briefly talked to Nomad's owner. She was very friendly and accommodating to all. Her store carried very unique items with a pop of color. Many customers lingered and were "wow'ing" at her selection. The prices were quite high but the pieces were very refined. Think high-end luxury. The Sunday Market featured a lot of the local well-loved vendors like Emilie Coffee Shop and Table for 2 Vintage Shop. There was everything from lake-inspired apparel to produce to vintage finds. Amazing variety for every taste! Overall, I was very impressed with the "clean girl aesthetic" of this venue, the concept, and the one-of-a-kind boutique finds. You should definitely venture out here if looking for unique gifts or good hair days. My only small wonder is how artists can join this place, when this business is open, and when the next market will be. I wasn't able to ask any of these questions since there wasn't dedicated staff around to welcome guests into the space and introduce them to this cool venue. Crocker Park visitors also visit the store as pass through (from parking lot to Main Street). Convenient and free parking options are available at parking garages in Crocker Park. Clothing: Clothing racks against the wall contain various collections such as Feels Like Home, Empowerment, Cleveland, vintage, and others. All garments are casual and unique. You can find t-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, bandanas, sweat pants, baseball caps, and other merch. Clothes are clearly high quality, fabrics feel nice to the touch. All merch is unisex size and runs slightly big. Sizes S-XXL are available. Average prices are $30-60. 20% discount is currently offered in store. The same discount is available online for the first order. There is also a small vintage collection on the rack. Clothing items are priced at $10. What a steal! No fitting rooms seem to be available at this location. QR price list is available right next to the racks in case you'll have any pricing questions. Service: Emily's friend was working at the store this afternoon. That's how she introduced herself to my friend and I. She was super friendly, open to questions and casual conversation. It was my first visit there and I was so pleasantly surprised at the variety of what is offered. If you're looking for some unique gift items, this is the place. Signature coffees, Amish jams, chocolates and plants, just to name a few of the items offered. Come to think of it, everything is reasonably priced too. You will also find clothing, socks, shoes and a community room for a game of chess or just a nice place to meet with friends away from home. I'm sipping a cup of Sinful Pleasure, one of the signature coffees I purchased today, it is excellent. I can't wait to try the International Blend. I am also enjoying a dark chocolate, caramel candy with sea salt that I purchased there...decadent and oh so good. It's a great addition to the Parma area.
