My mom has been suffering from painful corns on her foot for years. We visited another doctor before, but he didn't help and just kept asking us to come back. I came into this office with foot pain that let me out of work, unable to put any pressure on it. I went to an urgent care prior and they couldn't find the issue and recommended I see a specialist. I had a great experience here today. I injured my toe and the office was able to get me in for a same day appointment, which I was so grateful for. I had previously gone to urgent care where I was made to feel like I was overreacting and that my toe wasn't broken. When the podiatrist saw me, he immediately looked at it and said it was broken and that he could get it back into place. He was very kind, explained everything clearly, numbed my toe first, and reset it during the visit. I really appreciated how efficient and compassionate he was. We cosulted Dr Kim as a secondary consultant for my wife's broken leg 7 years back. Our primary podiatrist was not guiding us correctly but Dr. Kim pointed us in the right direction by suggesting my wife's leg had healed and she does not need any more treatment as suggested by the primary podiatrist. Where can you go to get excellent care along with a Dr. who has a great personality and makes you feel so at ease! Dr. Kim is amazing. I have been having issues with the right side of my foot for over a year. I had gone to another Podiatrist and the recommendation was to take an ongoing prescription of 800 mg ibuprofen. This didn't make sense to me - i took the meds but the pain just got worse and worse. I finally found Dr. Kim! He was thorough and explained that it was probably a type of tendonitis and that he needed to get the swelling down with the use of a Cortisone shot. This is where he was just honestly the best - we all know a shot in the foot is not akin to doing to Disneyland but he did his VERY best to get me through the process with minimal pain - He used a freeze type spray and then even as he was putting the shot in shielded the shot from my view with the freeze spray can. Was it pleasant....not necessarily....but Dr. Kim was so kind and gentle. I returned a week later - problem solved! The foot no longer hurts and is well on its way to long term recovery. It also must be noted how lovely the office staff is. They are friendly and on top of everything making you feel very welcome and well taken care of. I cannot recommend Dr. Kim and his team highly enough. The good news is that my foot is on the way to recovery...the bad news is that I won't need to go in and see Dr. Kim any time soon! read more

Since dealing with my sciatica, it had a domino effect. I wasn't able to bend over to cut my own toenails. Since I'm not comfortable visiting a nail shop yet, I let my toenails get too long and got stuck with a painful ingrown that I couldn't take care of on my own. I noticed the excellent reviews by Yelpers on this place and found out they are an in network provider for my insurance. So I made a phone call. The receptionist was friendly and was able to squeeze me in for an appointment for the next day. I was so thankful since my toe was in a lot of pain. The office is relatively easy to find. Once you park, head into the building and the office suites from 105-110 are to the back of the building if you're parked by Grove Ave. I was greeted and checked in immediately. There are 4 pages of medical info you fill out. I would allot about an hour for your appt. I was seen by Dr. Chan. She went over what happened, and then provided me two options for my ingrown. I decided to go with the first option without cauterizing the root only because it heals faster. Of course, if you're suffering from an ingrown toenail, the second option to kill off the ingrown toenail root permanently is a better one. I couldn't go with that one because of the line of work I do and it would need more time healing. Dr. Chan thoroughly explained how the procedure will go. I know a lot of people get scared of pain, and I couldn't find anyone describing the procedure in detail. I will do that in my review because when you know what will happen, it is often less fearful. I will say, I have an extremely high tolerance for pain so my experience may not be your experience. If you have a lower threshold for pain, it will hurt, but very briefly. Dr. Chan and her MA worked together to made sure my toe will be numb. My toe was sprayed with a cold spray to mimic putting ice on it, and it slightly numbs the area so they can inject the numbing agent into the toe. It is two shots. This was the part that was the most uncomfortable. Obviously toes don't have a lot of meat, so getting two shots wasn't fun, but the way they do it here minimizes (not takes away) the pain. I winced a little but it was for a very short time. Dr. Chan said 30 seconds, and she was spot on. Once the numbing shots were given, they allow about 5 minutes or so to let it work through and make sure your toe is numb. Dr. Chan is by herself for the second portion. She is very communicative and gives clear directions. I appreciated her going through everything step by step. Once she knew my toe was numb, she went to work. It was finished pretty quickly, around 5 minutes or so. She wrapped up my toe, and gave me aftercare directions. I'm on day 2 from the procedure. The first day, I wasn't able to do anything. Dr. Chan instructed that she wanted the foot elevated. She did warn me that once the numbing agent wears off I may feel pain and to take pain relievers. I didn't. I did feel some slight throbbing, but again, I have a high threshold for pain. I was able to walk the next day but nothing too crazy. Mine was minor so I didn't need to take antibiotics. Your case may differ if it is more severe. I was told to soak my foot in epsom salt and warm water twice a day, and apply Neosporin. I didn't have that, and only had Aquaphor, so I applied that instead. I think it's the petroleum part of Neosporin that is most important to keep the cut moisturized and protected. The aftercare instructions will have all of that info. Overall, my toe is healing very well. I don't have anymore pain! I have a follow up in a week. Dr. Chan is excellent and made this experience as painless as possible. I expect to resume full activities very soon. read more

Recently moved inland and had some foot pain and decided to check this place out due to the great reviews and rating. The location was easy to find. It's a pretty big office location with several services inside. They are located up the stairs on the second floor. I saw Dr. Chan, which I'm glad I did. I came early to fill out some paperwork, due to me being a new patient. Paperwork was routine questions. After completing that they brought me to the office and asked me what the pain was, what I did as a job, etc. Next Dr. Chan entered the room and asked follow up questions. I told her about the foot pain I was feeling and she got to it right away and can I say I feel so much better. Something I thought that was going to be a bigger deal was something very normal which made me happy. She scheduled a follow up with me in about a month and also ordered me some lotion that will be delivered which is convenient. Overall the visit went great.
