My 8 year old son had been complaining of foot pain for over a year, I took him to Kaiser three times he had X-rays done and I was told he was fine. After another 6 months of pain I decided to bring him to West Beverly podiatry group for a second opinion and I'm glad I did! I went in to Dr. Vega a few months back with a massive infection in my foot after an accident. Seeing the state of my foot, Dr. Vega took immediate action and put pressure on insurance to get me the medications and attention I needed. Turned out the infection was MRSA. Dr. Vega even went so far as to give me free samples of medication when my insurance didn't want to cover it. After a few months of treatment the infection is gone and my foot is all healed up. Horrible customer service. I called twice to ask what the price would be for a consultation so the doctor could see my daughters ingrown toe nail. Said it was $110 so that was fine with me until today.. I had my appointment January 13 and the doctor starts doing the procedure.. then once they are all done they hit me with a $200 dollar bill.. they couldnt even tell me the amount it would cost for everything or give me a rough estimate. I have other bills to pay and now i have to find ways to replace the extra $90 i was charged.. dont recommend this place at all read more

Had to call twice and ask if the insert arrived, after 4 weeks and both times gave excuse of Covid and production delays. They said it arrived the same day I called or the day before, full of excuses and made up stories. Went to pick up insert and said it was ready and was not ready, they it said it had to be sent back for adjustment, has been 4 weeks. Service and treatment of patient and customers is lacking. My mom was a diabetic so good foot care is vital. Dr. Ung and Dr. Vega took care of my mom for a few years in a very competent and caring manner. Often they would provide free samples of foot moisturizing creams that worked well and provided great advice on foot care. I highly recommend this clinic and it's staff. read more

I'm doing 3 star because I had two of my kids going to this office as a new patient. Office couldn't get them both in at the same day for appointment so I had to miss half day of work two days because they both got different days for appointments. Then it became a nightmare first time driving over to the office for the first appointment for my daughter. Reminding you it's holiday time, and had no clue on busy Beverly Blvd is. A FedEx driver apparently didn't have his back door closed correctly and it held up traffic because all of the packages from the front on the door come out. Was on the street picking up the packages. Me thinking okay it's 15 minutes until appointment time we should be okay. But just in case let me call office let them know what's going on and what street were by. For the life of me I can't remember the rude girl name at this moment, got into the office said we have to reschedule said please I took the rest of the day off I rather have my daughter see Dr. Or can we just put her in tomorrow with her brother appointment, girl said no. Would have to come back in two hours. Said fine. She gave me the new patient forms and I was still speaking to her and she was so rude. That she wasn't listening to and gave me a look to go away. And started to speak to an other patient besides us. Told the girl, you know it's very rude to ignore a patient when we're still speaking to you and not very friendly when faces are being given to a patient at a Dr office. What employee does that in a Dr office that is getting paid by the company to assist with patients overall. I do remember the back office assistant being so friendly and the other front office assistant Anabel being very helpful and also nice. She honestly has her heart into her job to do her job and help. Not make this hard or difficult for a patient. If the other girl would have been more on the friendly side instead of being just rude. Then I would have gave this 5 star instead of 3. Also it would have been a big help to have appointment for same day for both of my children instead of missing out on pay for myself. Every penny counts when times are hard. Dr. Vega and his group have done a great job of healing my foot after I suffered amputation of half my foot. He saved my foot when other Drs wanted to just amputate below the knee. He has taken the time and great effort to save my foot. His efforts have been much appreciated, as I would much rather have half a foot to walk on then no leg below the knee. It's been a long process and I'm almost healed and ready for a foot brace. Beside amputation, I suffered a broken and dislocated ankle and he performed surgery to correct that issue. I was very lucky to have him take care of my foot. While my foot was healing from the original amputation, my foot became infected after they allied a skin graft. While in the hospital for the infection, he happened to be there to look at my foot and he said he would save my foot while the other Drs were discussing amputating my foot and leg below the knee to just be done with it. Now I am almost healed with the rest of my foot intact. Thanks to Dr Vega and his assistants. read more

I paid a $50.00 hold fee in Feb. It took them months to return my phone calls. I was finally fed up and told them I wanted a refund. Thats when they said they would have a manager call me back. Its July and I am just now getting my appointment for surgery. I am editing my review to include that the doctor that I dealt with was very nice and addressed my concerns. I have no issues there. I would not recommend this group at all! Sleazy billing practices. Usually when you visit a podiatrist's office, they remove any corns and calluses as part of a routine foot exam. Dr. Vega removed my corns and calluses, however he coded this on the bill as "lesion removal" which he needed approval from my insurance company. I had to pay $150 out of pocket!!!! I called their billing office and was told that they could see about giving me the cash price but had to check with their office manager, who was NEVER in the office. Such a billing scam. Pretty sure Dr. Vega is aware of how he codes an office visit but pockets the patients cash anyway. read more

Brought in my family members to this Podiatry Clinic and the Doctors and staff are very pleasant!! Very good bedside manners from the all the Physicians (we've alternated between providers to get fit in for an urgent visit, which was so very amazing of them.) and the front office and nurses are great. You're greeted by Samantha and Claudia in a very professional and polite manner and the nurses Alma and Anna are so helpful when your in there with the doctors!!! He was visited by Dr. Michael Vega Podiatrists located in Montebello and Duarte. He saw my husband's injury and said he was willing to try to heal his wound without any further amputation if we were willing to try. We choose Dr. Vega. He really cares for his patients. He prefers to heal instead of amputate. That is is more than the other five hospital Drs. Suggested. I checked him out of about 4 Hospitals because they just wanted to amputate. The office staff, medical assistants and Dr. Hellewell were awesome. Very helpful, resourceful, attentive and knowledgeable with every question that I had about my foot issues. The whole process was quick, painless, easy and affordable. Dr. Michael Vega is an excelente Podiatrist (foot doctor) and surgent.......he help my 16 year old daughter get her feet back to normal. At 14 yrs old, she had flat feet and bunions but because of the flat feet her bunions was forced out so far that her feet looked deformed. First they made her orthotics to creare an arch and then he perform a detailed surgery to correct her feet. Now her feet look normal and her scars are barely noticable :) I highly recommend the professional Doctor. read more

Personally I liked Dr Gath but that front office staff has to go they are flakey, unprofessional, unfriendly and they bully the patients, I can stand my own but I feel bad for the elderly patients who can't defend themselves. Two comments: #1 - If there is an office policy make sure it is posted somewhere for all the patients to see and be aware of prior or described on the new patient paperwork #2 - If you are going to charge for a cancelled appt not within the 24hrs you better be sure the appts are running on time, because if a patient has to wait an hour or more to see the Doctor, it is not fair to the patient as their time is valuable as well read more

I had bilateral bunioneictomies done by Dr. Vega approximately two years ago. Dr. Vega and his staff both in the Montebello office and now in the Duarte office are always efficient and pleasant. I recently returned to see Dr. Vega and was pleased to see that Vanessa is still working with him as well as other team members. I was recommended to Dr Vega by my brother friend . Best recommendation ever . Back in November/ December I was told that my left foot would have to be amputated from a Dr not mentioning their name . So Dr Vega look at my foot So Dr Vega said that I have 2 ulcers . So I went to get some labs works . So Dr Vega told that there reason to amputate my foot . Came to visit Dr. Vega twice already, I thought maybe the poor front desk service was terrible due to it being my first visit because of all paperwork I had to deal with, so I brushed it off.....But this time around, it's confirmed All members at the front desk are horrible! It's a group of nothing but hostile females.....Perhaps they need to get laid or something before clocking in?! I over heard the appointment clerk on the phone scheduling an appointment, once she hung up the phone she was mocking the patient and called her a B***h and rambled on to the girl next to her and they laughed about it! If I hadn't paid for half of my insoles I would have never come back to this place! Unless you can bypass these idiots that work at the front desk - make an appointment. In December 2016 Dr. Vega performed a surgical procedure to repair a cross over toe and bunion on the right foot. The surgery required he install implants in the large toe amd second toe. The results were outstanding. In March of this year I had the left foot done. When I first had the surgery performed Dr. Vega reminded me it would take 3-6 months before I would be back to almost normal. Although it's been only a couple of months the results once again are outstandung. I'm healing well and the foot is much better than before the surgery. Dr. Vega has once again done an excellent job. I recommend him with the highest level of praise and recommendation I can give a physician. read more
