Giving it 4 stars because of the flavors. I've lived in Southaven for many years and am just discovering this place. I stopped by the Stateline Rd. location. The chips are warm and fresh. The green and red salsas are tasty. The asada burrito has a refreshing taste with the cilantro. But the burrito is mostly rice than steak. I wish there would have been a better steak/rice balance. I would try it again to see if the burritos have a better balance in the future. read more

Nice little unassuming gem tucked away in the heart of Horn Lake, the food here is a mix between a hole in the wall and a sit and dine restaurant quality without the dine in prices. Pretty neat place. Yes, there are real Mexicans in the kitchen. I always look for that. Also, there were real Mexicans eating there. They have some really good salsas, but chips are average, probably bagged. Chips and salsa are self serve. You counter order and pre-pay. I'm judging this as fast food. The prices were in line with fast food, but the food was better. I ordered the two gorditas. They only brought me one at first saying the other had broken. The second one came, but both the ones I ate were too moist, soft, and crumbly. The masa was the wrong consistency. Not bad, but I've had better. Keep in mind though that I paid more for those better ones. I wasn't thrilled with the steak in the gorditas either. Tough, chewy, and lacking flavor. On the plus side, beans and rice were really good. The two gorditas was more than enough food for me, but I ordered a $.99 American taco just to try it. The ground beef was amazing. My go to spot when I am in Southaven for Breakfast CA burritos. Being from So Cal I grew up on theses things. From the OG Albertos to the knockoffs Filibertos or all the other "...bertos". The CA burrito was my go to road trip food. Here the prices are a bit higher but the seasoned meat and proper warming of the tortilla brings memories of road trips to San Diego flooding back. The real treat for me is the green tomatillo salsa that you can ask for. They have the typical red and green salsa, but the creamy, tangy avocado salsa has me leaving already wanting to come back for more. They have opened up with indoor seating and they have Pepsi brand fountain drinks but also a small selection of coke, Mexican style sodas and beers. Orders come with a side of tortillas chips and they have a variety of combo burrito and tacos. Second time here. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and only a few folks inside. This time I had the Steak fajitas...Insanely good fajitas for less than ten bucks!? The service was super friendly and fast. I'm super impressed with this place after two visits and plan to make it a usual spot. We've been here a few times and the food is ok-- definitely nothing to call home about. When we came in today, the cashier was eating at a table and took his time before he came and took our order (only a few people were there). Because of that, we ended up running late for work and asked for take out containers. The guy at the register saw us grabbing some salsa to go and was EXTREMELY RUDE. He took my boyfriend's take out container away from him and told him he was only allowed to take 2 salsas with him next time. Why advertise the free salsa bar so heavily if you're only allowed to have 2 small cups of salsa total? We bought 2 meals.
