I got the 3 piece chicken tender meal with fries and a biscuit and a Dr Pepper. The even gave me an extra chicken tender!! And one of the workers said "how y'all doin" which felt nice to hear. I liked how we were able to watch them make the food too it really added a nice touch the the vibe of the inside. It is with a heavy heart I make this review about Bojangles restaurant. Service and people there EXCELLENT! The breakfast item that I had come to love and purchase NO OTHER FAST FOOD PLACE COULD TOUCH IT! I experienced the most disappointing thing you can imagine. The STEAK BISCUIT HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A MYSTERY MEAT WITH COATING THAT IS THICKER THAN THE MEAT THAT USED TO BE THERE! I would have gladly paid more than to have my taste buds assaulted and disappointed to this extreme. I wish I had taken a picture of it but if I choose to do it again I promise to post a picture and let Bojangles explain what kind of a substitute meat product they are using these days. If times are this hard, take it off the menu please! There is no room for a fake paper thin mystery meat product. I bit into what was a biscuit that surrounded something that cannot be described as steak unless you were to take a Saulsbury steak and slice it soooo thin that it is used a a glue for the batter layers. It's been a while since I purchased this item but if I do it again it will be to warn others of the hypocrisy of the owners to lie to the people that supported this restaurant for years. Many times waiting in the drive through for extended periods of time and I can speak for myself only, HAPPY TO DO SO BECAUSE OF THE FOOD AT THE END OF RAINBOW LINE OF CARS. This is pretty good chicken but it fell short of great. It's below my top 5 fried chicken places for sure... I was in the area and have wanted to try this place since it opened. Since I was so close I decided to pick up dinner from here and take it home. It's a 30 minute drive to the house. Arrived to find the line out on the street. It moved quickly though and I found it to be very efficient in fact. I dig the greeting... "IT'S BO TIME!!" Pretty damn cute! All of the family meals come with tea... that's different. I got an 8 piece meal with dirty rice and mashed potatoes and gravy along with the complimentary biscuits. Chicken was juicy, flavorful, and was cooked well. I thought the breading was just ok. I put it in the "air fryer" (no such thing really exists but I digress) to crisp it up after the first piece and it didn't help it much. I just don't care for the breading I'm afraid. Mashed potatoes were on the very low end of quality and the gravy wasn't that great either. I did think the dirty rice was pretty good and my wife really liked it and finished it off in the next few days. I had some leftover chicken last night and it didn't get any better. Sometimes fried chicken gets better after its refrigerated and is even great cold. I did not find this to be the case for this chicken. I'll try it again if I'm ever in the area again. Ever since Bojangles got to Southaven, it's been undoubtedly a popular spot. I refused to go when it first opened because literally the line would be down the street. Like it was ridiculous. After the hype settled, I decided to go. I had been before when I was out of town a few years back, so I knew what to expect. Every time I've gone, the line has moved swiftly and the food is always hot and ready for me at the window. I've had my fair share of Cajun chicken biscuits, steak biscuits, bo rounds, bo Berry biscuits, supreme tenders and even a Cajun chicken filet sandwich a time or two. I do not frequent this location often but each time,I have an issue. MARCH 7,2025 around 8am-820am I went to the drive thru and placed my order. I was asked to repeat and did so and even asked the guy if he was sure he put my order in as a chicken biscuit on the blueberry bo biscuit. He said yes ma'am. I get to the window to pay, the lady was really nice at the window by the way, and then asked to pull to the curbside spot and my order will be brought out to me. I wait maybe 8 minutes then a guy comes out with my order and I say wait, my chicken biscuit isn't on the blueberry biscuit that I ordered at the speaker. He proceeded to say ok let me go in and get you one. He comes back out and says "Oh, they said what's on the receipt is what you get". Then he tells me the guy taking the orders is new. So you're telling me the new guy can't make mistakes? I'm telling you my order wrong and now I have to go inside. Going inside was pretty ironic because I had just hung up the phone with a coworker joking to her about how I hope nothing goes wrong today so I won't have to go inside. NOPE. So I go inside, get asked to see my receipt for a second time, the guy that came outside to bring my food and already took my receipt back inside to show them. The lady at the counter proceeds to ask me for my biscuit back and switches the biscuit. In my other experiences at other establishments, I'm use to a manager coming to apologize, tell me to keep what I have, then proceed to make what I initially asked for. This was not the case here at all. I didn't get an apology and just a biscuit swap. I honestly hate making bad reviews but this happens too often for me not to say anything. This is my 3rd time over the course of maybe 4 months that I've ordered at the drive thru, was told to pull up or to a designated spot, then still had to go inside because something in my order was wrong. I have no qualms with a restaurant not serving breakfast all day. I think it helps to have a simplified menu and makes things more efficient. This is the first Bojangles I've ever encountered that didn't serve breakfast all day, however, and I DO have qualms with them having chicken filets (for the sandwiches) and biscuits (as a side) but not letting me buy a chicken biscuit at 6 pm. I ordered though the drive through, a 20 pc family meal and asked for thighs instead of wings. when they gave me my order there were only 2 boxes in the bag, 1 with busquits and 1 with chicken. I asked them if there were 20 pieces of chicken in the box and the lady that was preparing the order shouted out the window "there are 20 pcs, they just are small and all fit in the box". So i actually sat there and opened the box and counted the chicken. There were only 12 pcs in the box. I paid over $61 for this meal. I said there are not 20 pcs here that i paid for. they asked for the box back and she counted the pcs and got another box and moved the chicken around and added more chicken. I thought for sure that they could count. well, when I get home they still had only given me 16 pcs of chicken. so i called them and told them i still didnt' get all that i paid for and asked to talk to a manager. i was put on hold, someone picked up then just hung up the phone. I called back and was told the manager was to busy to come to the phone. that i could come up there. so I did. when i get there the first thing i heard said was "she's here". well, then i stood there for 10 min before the lady preparing the meals finally came over and she says "there were 20 pcs in those boxes, AND I CAN COUNT!" I said well obviously not because you first gave me 12 pcs then i was only given 16 pcs. I said im not trying to be rude but i just want what i ordered and PAID for. she says "there were 20 pcs in those boxes when you left" implying I had gone home removed the chicken then came back. she then turns her back waves her hand at me and says 'I'm not dealing with her, someone else can if they want to" so i asked if she was a manager and the employee said she was one of them, so i said well i want to speak to the other one then. the other manager came over and he was more polite but didn't want to listen to me, he just asked what i was missing. I told him, he gave me what my order was missing and then dismissed me.
