Been on the phone now for over an hour trying to resolve a bill from ICQ for a Pathology report from 2015. This is ridiculous.

The first 30 minutes = $2.00 and each additional 30 minutes thereafter = $1.00. Daily maximum = $10.00. Don't forget to stamp the ticket at the Quest office counter before leaving. Otherwise, there should be plenty of free street parking if you come early enough and don't want to worry about parking validation. [Process]: There were no receptionists at the counter at 8 AM. Visitors can use the kiosk to check in or use the online check-in link provided in the email. I clicked the online check-in link and it took less than a minute to complete the process. I arrived at 8 AM and was done in less than 10 minutes after checking in. To my surprise, I didn't have to make a fist and the phlebotomist was still able to complete the blood draw within minutes. The waiting room also has a screen showing the number of customers currently being served and the number of customers with scheduled appointments within the next 60 minutes. [Lab order]: I forgot to bring a physical printout, but the phlebotomist was able to locate a digital copy by searching my name and birthday. Otherwise, customers can email a copy to PSCCWK@Questdiagnostics.com. [Conclusion]: A fairly efficient process when everything aligns from having an appointment scheduled to having the lab order ready.

About the only thing I don't like about this medical center is that you have to take a ticket when entering the parking lot and need to remember to stamp your ticket before leaving the office in order to avoid paying for parking. This is the only medical center in the area that tries to charge people for parking. Not the fault of Quest though.

While she drew my blood (which was painless) I was calling our drs office to resend the lab orders for my wife. Laura had us wait in the hallway while she took care of another patient. Instead of telling us to come back another time she checked again and saw the drs lab orders for my wife. She said "I didn't want you to have to come back". After waiting more than two hours, my husband was turned away without having his blood drawn because they claimed our medical insurance was inactive. That information was completely incorrect. I had seen the doctor the day before, had my blood drawn, and even picked up my prescribed medication using the very same insurance. I immediately called our insurance company, and they confirmed our coverage was active. Instead of taking a few minutes to verify the information with the insurance provider, the staff simply told my husband his insurance was inactive and sent him away. My husband even explained that I was outside and could have clarified the situation immediately, but no one made any effort to help. Now we have to return and go through the process all over again. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location. The office appeared to have only three employees, and while I understand staffing challenges, the lack of organization, poor communication, and unhelpful attitudes made for a very frustrating experience. Patients deserve better customer service, better time management, and staff who are willing to verify information before denying care.

If you have a biopsy here, as I did, it will be painless. If you have a mammo, you notice the decor (very beautiful), the check in process, etc. If you need a biopsy, it's a different world. You notice the thought that went into the video that explains the entire process in detail, the person that comes in after the video and discusses how you feel and if you understand the process completely. You notice how patient they are during the biopsy - kind, comforting, my hand was held by the assistant during the biopsy (the entire time). The doctor gives as much information as possible. You will appreciate the marked they place in your breast so that exact spot can be monitored over the years. You notice that it only takes 2 business days to get your results, and those results are delivered by a woman who is obviously cut out to do just that work. Every individual is well trained, professional, and compassionate. If the receptionist seem hurried or busy, its because IT IS A BUSY office, and their is a reason for that. However, I have never had an excessive wait time.

This review is specifically about the front desk, and I hope this helps other women so they don't go through what I did. I am under 40 with a documented benign breast lump, prior biopsy, and a family history of breast cancer. I had a scheduled diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound appointment. Because screening mammograms are not covered by my insurance at my age, I coordinated carefully with my doctor and United Healthcare to ensure everything was coded correctly as diagnostic. My doctor even submitted the orders in December, months ahead of my April appointment, because on previous visits my orders had repeatedly "failed to arrive" despite always being sent. None of it mattered. I showed up and was told there was no order on file and that I could only get a screening. When I tried to explain the insurance distinction, the front desk staff became combative and dismissive, made me feel stupid for asking, and told me 'We probably can't do anything for you.' I left in tears. I'll be the first to admit I am not an expert in medical coding or insurance, and a calm explanation of the process would have gone a long way. Instead, I was met with impatience and dismissal. I can't believe that someone would treat a patient clearly in distress like that. I always try to live by "be kinder than necessary, everyone is fighting some sort of battle." You would think that folks that work at a Breast Diagnostic center would be kind. Missing orders has been a pattern. Every visit I have been made to chase down orders my doctor already sent, despite my physician being in the same Torrance Memorial network as Polak. If you are under 40 and need diagnostic imaging coded correctly for insurance purposes, prepare to advocate loudly and call ahead to confirm your order was received. You should not have to, but based on my experience, you will. I have submitted a patient feedback form and I truly hope it gets taken into account so no one else is treated like I was today.

Phlebotomist did not introduce himself, confirm my DOB, explain what would happen, how long it would take, or confirm all the labs he was drawing. He did swab my arm with an alcohol swab, but inserted the needle immediately after, causing a more intense stinging sensation. Additionally--He did not let me know when he would be inserting the needle/explain what he was doing. Inserting the needle immediately after sanitizing scared me, so I jumped, and he scolded me for moving. Horrible, not in alignment with UCLAs CICARE standards.

** Update on the bill ***…read more Recently I received a bill for a routine abdomen ultrasound and I was completely dumbfounded by the bill. This imaging facility charged $2.6k for an ultrasound service and I ended up being responsible for half of the remaining balance. Later I found out that Cedars-Sinai (Torrance Memorial is an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai) charges some of the highest rates for abdominal ultrasounds (CPT 76700) in Los Angeles County for standard PPO plans and the median negotiated prices in Los Angeles County are lower than four figures. I did send a message through their feedback portal ( http://torrancememorial.org/patientfeedback ) and honestly I was not surprised that they didn't respond even after I had left my contact information and asked to be contacted regarding this matter. I ended up calling the billing department and the staff simply said that's how it is billed & the only action they took was mailing the itemized charges. Main takeaway message - only come here if you have HMO insurance. If you have PPO insurance, get a price check on the Torrance Memorial website on price transparency ( https://www.torrancememorial.org/patients-visitors/billing-insurance/price-transparency/ ) by reviewing the machine-readable file that provides pricing information before committing to an imaging service at this facility.
