I brought my 2010 Corvette Grand Sport to Gary and he looked it over completely and gave me a thorough report. He checked all the fluids, did an oil and filter change for a fair price. I don't know what some of the other people on here are talking about when they said that he wanted to do work that wasn't needed. I was convinced by the owner that this was the best shop to paint my bumper. I was going through insurance. He said he paints corvettes and has been done some of the most custom paint jobs. I was gullible to believe him so I went with him. My car was getting painted pearl white. I got my car back and the color was totally off it looked like a after shadow beard. I asked him if he tried paint matching and he said that was the color that came with the manufacturer. I worked in a paint shop myself so I asked him to paint it over or I was not going to sign the contract. He kept going back and forth so I just gave up and let him have his way. Also he scammed the insurance and said there were more damages behind the bumper which there weren't. Would definitely not come back here. I'd rather go to maaco. read more

I'm in the processing of finding and purchasing a vintage corvette. Called Gary to ask some questions about a list of repairs the owner stated needed repaired or replace. Not only was Gary willing to answer all my questions and give me quotes (high and low price ranges) without seeing the car, he was friendly and expressed genuine concerned about the potential problems I may get into making this purchase. Also he had a wealth of knowledge about the particular year and the typical problems that arise over time with that particular model. They promised me and sold me on how much they appreciate old Corvettes and cars but when I came back to pick up my car I found that there workmanship is the worst I have ever seen the use jb weld and tacky tasteless ways of addressing problems...... basically just putting a band aid on a situation that needs to be replaced...... stay away and don't even try or let them tell you otherwise The owner Gary is very nice at first but after that completely different. I ordered an Adidas C8 shirt for my husband's birthday. They advertised same day shipping. After about a week with no response or tracking number, I sent a message through Paypal. They did not respond. A few days later I sent another message through PayPal that went ignored. I finally emailed the shop directly, and they told me their manufacturer had just gotten the parts to make the shirt, and they were still two or three weeks out. They offered to send another shirt, and said they could price match even if it was a little more expensive. I asked if they had anything similar, and if they were shipping from the US, but they didn't respond to my email. Two days later with no response, I asked for a refund and escalated the situation to PayPal. I got my money back promptly. read more

I took my 1965 Corvette to Gary for some brake work. His shop is in Burlingame and its the closest corvette shop to San Francisco, (the main reason I went there). Gary seemed like a nice guy. He told me halfway through the brake job that my car needed other repairs that he had noticed. I know that he was lying since those repairs were already done. He tried to pressure me to do the extra work saying that they were safety issues. He just wanted more dough. He didn't finish the car on time, no problem, I'm used to this. The car was finally finished at an astronomical price and many delays. Do not take your car to this guy unless you have money to burn and like dishonest people. I learned the hard way. I have talked to other people in the vintage car community since my experience at West Coast Corvette, and they have all said the same thing about this shop, Stay Away! read more

I don't even know where to start. I suppose thank you is in order. Thank you, Gary. All I ever wanted was a nice Corvette. A Stingray. I read the other reviews before writing this and I have to comment on that. Not once, did I feel that Gary wasn't on my side. Not once, did I feel that Gary was trying to take me over the coals either. Instead, it was just the opposite. Every step of the way Gary was informative, insightful, and outright helpful. We (my friends and I) had taken the car as far as we could. We simply ran out of time and patience, and could go no more. While a majority of the mechanical work was done, we still had an electrical problem in the dash, all the interior parts were out, and the dash pad was cracked, too. Gary nailed each and every issue. And, I mean nailed it. Don't believe me? Wait until you get gouged by one of the other so called specialist out there! I think the thing that people need to realize when you work with guys like Gary is that simply demanding things from him isn't going to cut it. Money isn't everything, and you can stomp your feet and throw all kinds of fits. It will get you "Nowhere man." I've always found, that if someone has something that you want, it helps to say please and thank you. I hope I am doing so with this review. Anyhoo.. We drove the car from his place to just north of Santa Rosa before heading into the barn, so to speak on it's shakedown cruise. Now we take it farther north next week on an extended cruise. This is why I bought the car; to turn it into a touring vehicle. A lot of people think they pay 8, 10 or 12k for a vette and that's the end. It's not. If you bought a car in this price range, you have A LOT of hidden work to do. Maybe that's what the other reviews are alluding to. I don't know. But, I do know, if you buy one of these things and think that's the end all at that low ball price, you have a rude awakening coming. One of the ways you can tell, or at least I could tell, that Gary was the real deal was by simply looking at everything he has going on in his shop. Gary took on my 1958 corvette left to me by my father in February of 2013. I was going to restore it myself, but was in an accident and was in a wheelchair for months. I could never have done what Gary did. He spent the time, took payments while restoring the car. He communicated weekly. Then, in December of 2013 he said was done. I was stunned beyond words. I went here a while ago with my corvettes and thought the guy was nice until I learned that he was over charging me $75 to replace a turn signal light I asked him why so much and he gave me some bull about it being tricky to get too, I also had him replace a part of the car and he charged me around 700, wonder how much it really was, look you can take my word or not but from this yelper I say find yourself another place to bring your corvettes, not everyone is honest these days. read more

I wanted a new translucent roof for my vette, and he contacted GM but also told me I could get he same thing for less on amazon and that he would help me install it if there were problems. I was refered to Gary by a mechanic I've had for about 15 years. I had just purchased an 82 C3 and it needed some front end work. Gary accepted the job. I had just ordered carpet and replaced that just beforehand asking it to Gary. He even offered to keep the car while I ordered my own parts. The whole project took about a month. When I picked it up, the nose was chipped. I knew I didn't do it because I had just bought it and it had absolutely no damage when I left the dealer, and had been in my garage the whole time, outside of the time it was in his lot. He denied that it happened on his watch. When I got it home, is started the interior work. When I got the seats out, I found a receipt for Hawaiian food under the driver seat dated during the time it was in his lot. I brought it back to him later to fix some other things and asked him to repair the chip. He painted it with something like finger nail polish that just rubbed off when I had it detailed later. When I bought it, one t-top seal was bad. Gary said it was not repairable and I needed a new one. So I spent $250 and got a new one. I had Gary install it because the new one and old one didn't seat evenly. He adjusted the shims. When I picked it up, the new one was fine, but he popped the seal on the he old one! He acknowledged that he did it, blamed it not he "heat" that day. He had no replacement for it. I called him several times over the next two months asking about a replacement, and he just blew me off. So now I had a chip in the nose and a cracked t-top. After spending over $3000 with him I'd have expected better service. I expect these repairs will cost $250 for a new t-top and $200-$400 to fix the chip in the nose. Gary hasn't offered to help and hasn't called me back, so I guess it's "customer beware". I wouldn't recommend him. read more

Gary did a phenomenal job. After my passenger window got stuck and belt(s) squeaked, I called him and told him the problem, he immediately knew what was causing them now to work. I brought in my car, a few hours later he called and told me exactly what was wrong when I first called him. He added that my headlights needs to be replaced (which they need to eventually). He told me he could restore the headlights to look better than they are but not brand new, I was more concerned about the window and belts. But I gave him the ok to restore the best he could on the headlights. Not only do I have a working passenger window and belts again but my headlights look amazingly better! read more
