I came to West Coast to see Rob for years. Those years he was friendly and did fast and quality work. Unfortunately I no longer recognize him or the shop anymore. He has become extremely crass, rude, temperamental, and unfriendly. The shop and work have become dirty and sloppy. I recommend just visiting the shop BEFORE you drop anything off. It's disgusting, disorganized, trashy, and dirty, garbage everywhere, chemicals and oil and soot in every nook and cranny. A shop that looks like a train wreck is usually a very strong indicator of what the owner values and the level of work performed. Lack of care, pride, and attention to detail. I needed to swap some tires out on a very nice, clean, and excellent condition KTM 690 SMC Supermoto. Even the guys at KTM who saw it a week prior were loving it and commenting on how it looked showroom quality. Usually Rob has me come in and within 30 minutes of waiting in the shop he can swap tires. First thing he said was to go get something to eat and come back in an hour and a half because he has more important jobs to do. Sure, I might understand that, but why give me an appointment time or not tell me first over the phone I was going to be waiting for an hour or two before coming down? He knew I was riding the bike over so would be out of a ride. An hour a half later I come back, and Rob is literally grunting frustratingly and cursing at my bike in the back of the shop, saying what a piece of sh** KTM bikes are and how they always turn down dirt bikes because they are such pieces of crap. He went on about their crappy design. He apparently couldn't get my rear wheel off due to some tight clearances on the bike. A grown "professional" man throwing a frustrated tantrum over a wheel?! He threw his hands up at me and said, "You're in a holding pattern until further notice; I've got phone calls to make and tire orders to take care of." He walked away and went into his office. I've already waited almost 2 hours. I walk back to the bike. Another worker is in the garage and doesn't even say hi to me or ask if I need help or even look at anything. It's as if I don't exist. What doesn't exist is any sort of customer service or friendliness. I'm no motorcycle mechanic yet within 30 seconds of going to an online forum and checking the KTM manual, I was able to see that the way to get the wheel off was simply to take the brake cable out of its plastic clip on the swingarm to give it a little more slack so the caliper could be removed. and to remove the chain guard for more clearance. Another 20 minutes went by, he finally came out again. I told him people usually just take the brake line out the clip and that taking the chain guard off would probably yield enough clearance. "Do you know how much money I've lost today because of this?" Rob snarkly asks me. Sure enough, my 30 seconds on the forum proved correct because he now was able to take off the wheel and continue the wheel swap, cursing and complaining the entire time of what a hassle tubed wheels are and what roaches KTM bikes are. He finally calms down after the installation, I ask if he can hold the old tires and tubes for a day or two so I can pick them up. He snarkly says that I need to get them or he'll throw them out, that everyone says they'll come pick them up and then doesn't. It took 4 hours to change tires. I'd have paid triple to not have to deal with the wait, terrible and unprofessional attitude, and rude comments and demeanor. Some jobs are Mickey Mouse in a motorcycle shop when you'll barely clear $100 vs a $500 or $1000 job. However, never at any other shop was I made to feel unimportant because of it. Never at any other shop has the owner made blatent negative comments about my bike. No other shop put me on the backburner for 4 hours for a simple tire job with an appointment. I left with a bad taste in my mouth. To make matters worse, my phone falls out on the freeway on my way back and a car runs it over! I'm out a phone for a week, and same day my girlfriend ends up in the hospital!!! When I get a new phone 6 days later, Rob had sent me a very snarky text: "See, ur just like everyone else who doesn't come pick up their tires. I'm throwing them out." I almost lost it with his rudeness. I called him out, explained the phone and hospital situation and told him he was an ass. I think anyone would agree. He immediately started to call my cell phone over and over. I was really angry and he wasn't worth talking to after his rude comments and absolutely no apology. He never ONCE asked if she was ok or anything about the situation. He then called me a coward for not picking up my phone and to find another motorcycle shop. I'd be appalled, disgusted, and embarrassed if I was Rob. I honestly don't think he even cares or even realizes how he is. Either way is disturbing. Is this the kind of guy you want to give your money to and leave your bike with?! read more

I have been bring my 2003 Harley Sportster here for the last 3 years. They are great, anytime I have a problem they are they to take care of it. They just aren't out to make a buck of a person. I was prepared to spend a bunch of $$$ on a repair and they called me up an hour later telling me my bike was fixed and ready for pickup. They said the problem turned out to be minor one and I was good to go. I had to replace my clutch and asked how much more to put in a RECLUSE clutch and they worked their magic and got it done for a fair price. Their labor rates are better than most places and the quality of work is real good. Sometimes it may take a little long to get a repair done and this is only because of their quality and so many people bring bikes to them to be worked on. All I can say and have every said about Rob and his team at West Coast is they are absolutely amazing. Whether it comes to there professionalism or there dedication to doing the job right or there sudden service and friendly staff. I from day one, having multiple bikes over the years, have only brought them to and trusted Rob to do the job right the first time and be honest with me. My bikes, whether it be my weekend rider R6 or my track only R1, are my pride and joy. To be able to know that I can bring them to one place and feel confident that I won't be taken advantage of just because I'm a female rider. Shaun and Cody have always been able to diagnose any problems I have had always in a reasonable time and got me back out the road for a weekend ride. Whether it be something as simple as a tire change or a chain adjustment to anything as extensive as a complete motor overhaul when I blew top end at the track, they have always impressed me with there knowledge and there ability to go above and beyond to take care of all there customers, not just myself. I have always recommended West Coast to anyone I meet who rides or I ride with. And I get the exact same response and feeling from everyone who knows Rob and his crew. Regardless of the time of year, whether it's slow in the dead of December or summer rush when everyone is headed up to Foresthill to hit the ridge and in need of that sudden service, West Coast always follows through. My husband is one of the ones... while riding his 2017 Harley road glide a truck pulled out in front him and it was bad.. Loving my husband I was thankful he would recover after months of rehab. Customer service experience was terrible here. I saw the recommendations and went there to get some work done. (spent about $1000 there total between my Ducati Panagalli and CBR ) I had them do some standard maintenance and add HID projectors to my bike. It isn't a well run business, the employees aren't all on the same page. Everytime I call I get a different person and a different answer. They spilled brake fluid on my triple tree and there is now a line where it dripped down my powder coated triple tree. One of the bolts is stripped either because they were incompetent or didn't have the communication skills or the care to fix it or let me know it was something they discovered along the way. The work that was done was ok but they are not the type to take responsibility for anything that happens to your bike while it's there. Their attitude is they think because they help you, you owe them payment and that's your relationship. I tried getting my invoices from them for insurance purposes, had to call them 4x in the week to try to get them to email it to me because I moved out of town. A simple email couldn't even be sent so I had a friend go and pick one up. Terrible communication, no responsibility, no commitment to excellence or service. I stopped in here the other day at the recommendation of a friend. I didn't need anything in particular, but just wanted to get a feel for the place and it's owner. I was greeted straight away by the owner Robert and a total sweetheart named Kim. I was shown around the shop and then shown the workshop area and introduced to the techs back there. The workshop was clean and organized. I saw 2 different bikes put through there during my visit. Both were simple tire and sprocket/tire changes. But the work was done in a timely manner. I saw that Robert had just received a new shipment of fairly high end gloves so I asked if I could look through them. While looking, I saw a pair that I really liked and had seen at another shop. I liked them, but knew that the price on them was more than what I wanted to pay. Without asking, Robert offered to discount the gloves for me since he saw that I was eyeballing them. That says something to me. Everyone I met was very personable and the shop looked to be on the level. I wouldn't have any issue with taking my bike there for service or shopping for any gear that I may need in the future. Well done Robert, Kim, and crew!! read more

I've been going to west coast motorz for three years now and in that time have taken all 6 of my prior bikes there. They have done everything from tire changes to full on tear downs to prep for frame straightening. The work is always done quickly and Rob always communicates exactly what is going on. Cody, Sean, and Nick the other techs are always friendly and consistently putting out good work. They do price match on parts online and can usually get stuff next day or at least in a couple days. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Dropped of for normal service, new tires and brought new mirrors and hand controls..never heard after week 2 weeks and called them to be asked "what are we doing again"? nothing in two weeks ad called with same question.. he couldn't find my paperwork..went over everything again.. they called in 3 ore weeks to say bike "estimate should be done in couple days?" I had to call back in week to ask again and gave them ok to proceed.! Called back in 10 days and was told not done yet.. A week later got VM that its done ... i left them VM that i would pick up Saturday..NO ONE THERE! I left them VM to that effect and told them can only do Saturdays! 2 weeks later get two nasty VM that i need to pick it up because shop space is a premium.. (are you kidding me?!) I ick it up on a Saturday soon after and was met with anythign but good customer service.. I paid and went to bike and the guy said you are out of gas (they had emptied it on their watch (was 3 gallons) and they did not put on the handles.. said were wrong one and charged me to get new ones....NEVER A PHONE CALL ON ANY OF THIS!! read more

This is a small shop so they don't have a very large selection of parts and apparel on hand but they DO have all the essentials for servicing your ride. They are also able to get everything that anyone else can get within a couple days. They'll price match all the big places too. Customer service is good without being over the top; this place will give it to you straight like an old school shop. Labor rates are low and the level of expertise is high. They also do paint work at a level higher than most body shops in the area. Bonus points for having cool carbon fiber parts and aluminum wheels for sale on hand. read more

I tried to adjust my Carburetors and put them out of sync,..I tried to adjust them myself,.didnt work out,..asked if they could sync my carbs,..called me next day and said your bike is ready,.. bike is cutting out and stalling after pick up. Brought it right back,..told him bike was stalling and cutting out,..he says was there a problem before,..I say no,.. He replies,.. So why did you try to adjust it? . First off All you riders, especially sport, that live out near WCM are so lucky! I seem to have nothing around here that resembles WCM. I found WCM while visiting SCR's forum looking for tires. Low and behold there was a "club" deal for Bridgestones that I had heard good things about on my CBR. I called and spoke with Ben. Ben was not only informative but well aware of my machine and considered my riding mods and skills when recommending my tires. And what a price! As soon as the shipment came in I got the call. Tossed both my RR rims into the trunk and dropped them off on my lunch break, met Rob (!another Duck rider) and picked them up the next day. I looked at a year old bill I had from another wheel off tire install and even with the cheater brand/type of tire (the WCM's were BT 003), the cost of the tires and especially the installation labor (WCM was $25), made it a over $100 on the +side. Since then I've gotten tires for my 76 GL, 62 Tohatsu and my Ducati all from WCM!! Gloves, jackets and BOOTS!! T shirts and all sorts of other stuff besides my favorite ~ a bit of bench racing. I have been dealing with Robert and Sean for over 7 years now. I have had multiple bikes that they both have serviced for me, and accessorized with many custom parts. Both Robert and Sean have always treated me with respect, and courtesy. Robert (owner) has been fare in both his pricing of parts and accessories, and you can't beat the price of his labor costs. The quality of their workmanship, and the attention to detail is remarkable! One of the bikes I own is a Ducati 1098s. I listened to other people who told me to take the bike to Clay at PASTA PERFORMANCE, if I needed the bike serviced and performance parts placed on it. Clay had the bike for over 2.5 weeks, and charged me a fortune. Clay was very disrespectful in the manner in which he talked to me, and he also had a very short temper. After waiting for the bike's work to be completed for more than 2.5 weeks.... I finally was told that it was ready and I attempted to ride the Ducati home. I didn't get far before I noticed that the bike was not shifting properly ( I had clay install a quickshifter on the Ducati). Now I've been riding for over 25 years and I have had quickshifters installed on many of my bikes. Clay had also overhauled the clutch on the Ducati. So after waiting for a great deal of time and spending a lot of money I was left with a bike that would not shift properly, and was unsafe to ride. It was obvious to me that Clay had never taken the bike out for a test ride before returning the Ducati to me. I immediately called Robert and explained the problem I was having with the Ducati. Robert....with no hesitation replied, "Nick....bring the bike down and I'll take a look at it and see what's going on." Robert did not respond by saying, oh Nick it's gonna be a while before I can get you in, or I'll have to make an appointment....without hesitation, he asked me to bring the bike in and it would be looked at it immediately. To make a long story short....Robert diagnosed the problems (pour workmanship by PASTA PERFORMANCE) and had me back on my Ducati in less than a week. To this day the Ducati performs flawlessly thanks to the work of Robert and Sean. So if you have a motorcycle that you cherish, and you love to ride....do yourself a big favor and take your bike to these guys. You'll be treated with respect, honesty, and repaired or serviced properly. read more

I own a 2014 Triumph speed triple. So the day after Christmas, few of my friends and I decided to go for a ride. We planned to hit up Foster's bighorn in Rio Vista, but because of the cold conditions early in the morning and cold tires, I high sided at low speed on a patch of icey road 3 blocks from the house! NO WAY, STUPID ME! Merry Christmas.. I've been riding since '97, and had never dropped any of my bikes until then. Totally bummed.. Made a call my insurance, and they recommended West Coast.. I was apprehensive at first, as I had never heard of this place and wanted to go to the dealer, but my agent assured me of their work. AND I'M GLAD HE DID! Bike was towed there, they called me when the bike arrived, and when they finished the estimate. The bike was completed within the timeframe stated, they ordered OEM parts like I asked, and the paperwork with the insurance was seamless! From beginning to end everyone I spoke to was knowledgeable and friendly, and I got the bike back better than new! (Upgrades to the exhaust, MX hand controls, and frame sliders) THESE GUYS KNOW THEIR STUFF! I will only be taking my bike there for any future services! Thanks again fellas! read more

I was looking for a motorcycle shop in Sacramento and looked all over the place. The dealerships are too busy during the riding season for any customer service and charge an arm & a leg. So I took the advice of friends on a local forum and tried out WCM. They are not huge but they are a one stop shop. They can tune up your bike, fixed your wrecked bike or do some painting if you wished. They hooked me up with a chain, sprockets, and tires and I was out the door the same day. I am sold on this shop; I will be back and telling all my friends to come here because this is the spot for motorcycle maintenance and accessories.
