We recently had LoveStoned perform at our 235-person wedding and they were truly phenomenal. We had many guests say that they were the best wedding band they had ever seen - and we may be biased, but we agree! Guests at the hotel restaurant were specifically requesting to sit on the patio so that they could listen to our band. Their energy was infectious and kept the dance floor jam packed from the first song to the last - seriously, there was not a single person sitting down and the dance floor was standing room only. They genuinely seemed to be having fun on stage and enjoying their performance. They work together as a team SO WELL and are able to showcase all of the incredible talents between the various vocalists and other instrumentalists. They went above and beyond to learn our first dance song, which was not well known, and allowed us to curate a special playlist of all our favorites. The band manager was very responsive and easy to work with and the overall process was extremely smooth. They absolutely knocked it out of the park and we cannot recommend them highly enough! read more

We attended a fabulous wedding at the Jonathan Club last weekend. The bride, groom and the band were the focus of this first-class wedding! No kidding! Ok, the Jonathan Club was pretty amazing too! As we entered the ballroom, the band got started right away. This was a nine piece group of very professional musicians with a twist! Not only did they play perfectly in tune, the energy was amazing. Nearly two months later, my husband and I are still hearing how amazing the band was at our wedding. Everyone says that there are just a few variables that really matter when making an event special, and music is absolutely at the top of that list. I'm sure that there are plenty of options for bands in the Southern California area, but I can't imagine that any of them could match the energy, playlist range and crowd reading ability of West Coast Music. We've been to a number of weddings with live music over the years, and successfully covering modern hits along with the oldies-but-goodies is a rare ability. Our band leader and artists were so incredibly talented (think limbo-ing mid song) and kept the party going throughout the entire night. I loved working with the helpful, knowledgeable office staff in the lead-up, too (and thank them for dealing so professionally with a brief moment of bridal panic!), and they helped us expertly script the flow of the reception to maximize the fun factor. After fulfilling the guests' requests for "one more song!" at the end of the night, the leader came up to me with a cell phone that had been dropped on the dance floor. That was icing on the cake for my amazing experience with West Coast Music. I can't recommend them more highly for a wedding, gala or any other special event. read more

I haven't experienced the wide range of musical acts under the West Coast Music umbrella, but I have had the pleasure of experiencing the band Impulse at a wedding I helped coordinate. They were performing at a country club in Santa Monica. There were three four singers and possibly three instrumentalists. They sang songs ranging from Michael Jackson hits, ABBA to Bohemian Rhapsody. I kid you not! That was their 2nd to last song of the night and I was FLOORED at how good they were. Each singer got to sing at least one solo accompanied by their peers. They were professional, kind and on time. The gig was so awesome the whole wedding party (guests and all) even started a conga line by the end of the night. They even dragged me into it even though I was trying to act professional while tapping my feet to the music. If you have 10 grand to spare, I highly recommend them. read more

WCM doesn't add to the party they make the party. We have used their services the last several years for our annual Bachelors Ball at the Beverly Hilton. They produce consistently great bands and we have yet to be disappointed. The band of choice for our 620 guests was the James Gang Encore Band . They played all night and kept the dance floor packed. WOWZA IS RIGHT! JB PROJECT is the best band we have ever heard (I mean, except Led Zeppelin, of course, ha) and absolutely made our wedding! Not only phenomenally talented but genuinely the nicest, most generous people ever, everyone from West Coast Music's management to Musical Director to Sound Team to Musicians (and the singers??? INCREDIBLE!) made family favorites, Led Zeppelin, Roy Orbison, Frank Sinatra, and Bruno Mars and more come alive. We have never seen such a high percentage of people dancing at a wedding-- and all until the venue closed us down at 12:30 AM. The excitement and actual thrill of watching, listening and dancing to this band is priceless. I have been to a few weddings where the music has been provided by West Coast and they were nothing less than uber fantastic. So much so, that I went to see Jim (who is so great to deal with that I felt like he was my long lost relative) to book the music for my wedding. If you can afford it, do it. He has a number of bands that you can book and they are all fantastic - it is his goal to liven your party and make it fun. read more

JB Project played our daughters wedding on 7/26/14 and all of our guests are talking about the band!! They were amazing! The vocalists were fabulous and and all of the band members had great energy.The variety of music pleased everyone and they looked like they were having fun! The band members could not have been nicer and really delivered all that was promised. We live on the East Coast and had never seen this band before. We just had Side Effect play at my daughter's wedding. They are a fantastic band and played Motown songs for us all night. All Ages danced non stop. We continue to get rave reviews...! Blacklist played at my daughter's wedding at Beaulieu Garden in Napa Valley. They were absolutely fabulous and our guests loved them. We had a few small issues with West Coast Music's travel and logistics coordinator, but Jim Eppolito is most responsive and all was forgiven because Blacklist was so fabulous!! read more

West Coast Music delivered the best band imaginable for our wedding. We were referred to Jim Eppolito at West Coast Music by a friend of mine who is a session drummer in LA. Jim worked with us on the details of what we wanted, and when the band hit the stage it couldn't have been any better! We told Jim our budget, he built us a band around what we could afford. We hired the 1 O'Clock Band, which for our wedding was a 6 piece (Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboard, Male and Female Lead Vocalists, and the keyboard player also sang.) But they add vocalists, horn players, second guitar, etc based on what you want. The band was amazing! Everyone kept coming up to me asking where we found the band and saying how great they were. I have to say, I grew up watching party bands play festivals in the midwest, and I go to a lot of concerts, and I'm a musician myself and have a very critical ear when it comes to cover bands. The 1 O'Clock Band was incredible! The musicianship was among the best I've seen, the sound mix was perfect (I use to mix Front Of House for concerts while in college and I still work as a sound engineer), the song flow was great! At one point I thought the band was on a break and the song Come Away With Me by Norah Jones started playing, then I glanced up and realized it was the band playing it, that's how good they were! The dance floor was full all night, everyone has been telling us that they danced more at our wedding than any other weddings they've been to. I would recommend The 1 O'Clock Band and West Coast Music to anyone looking for entertainment for an event. Live music is a little more expensive than a DJ, but the music is what drives the flow and energy of the party. If you want people dancing and staying till the end, you need live music. read more

It doesn't look like this is the most active page, but I feel the need to insert my two cents here. My husband and I had received a number of recommendations to book our wedding band through WCM (both from wedding professionals as well as friends who had used them in the past). During a trip to LA, we met with Jim, who is the owner. He seemed fantastic, and we were pretty sold on booking one particular band for our wedding. As a follow up, Jim sent me their 1-page "contract" to sign. Now, I'm no lawyer, but this was not a contract. It was 2 paragraphs that basically said "the band will show up on this date, at this location." Given that this band was going to be the second largest expense (second only to our venue), not to mention the fact that I come from a family of lawyers who would never allow me to sign something that didn't offer me proper coverage, I reasonably asked if Jim would be willing to consider a very boiler-plate contract that would encompass certain items such as: personal liability, payment, cancellation and 'acts of god' (ie: all things that had been covered in every other contract I had signed with every other vendor I had employed!) Jim wasn't thrilled, but told me that he would consider it. My brother (who does contract negotiation/entertainment law -- for his job!) drew up a standard contract. After sending this along to Jim, with a kind note to let me know if he found any of it to be disagreeable or if he had any questions, he wrote back almost immediately that he didn't like it and wouldn't sign it. Why? Because it had too much "legalese." My husband I were flabbergasted, and encouraged him to reconsider, and to show the contract to his legal team if he was so concerned that we were pulling one over him. He said he would....but after weeks of stringing us along (making appointments for conference calls with us and then cancelling, saying he'd look at the contract by a certain date and then not doing so, but all the while emailing us incessantly about whether we were ready to book or not...) he finally made it clear that he was not going to sign the contract, ever, even though his lawyers had said it was fine. Per Jim, he was "offended that we would even need a contract because his work speaks for itself, and his company is built upon his reputation, and he has any number of high end clients - who he then started name dropping (the likes of Xtina and Tom Cruise) that would vouch for him." And also, he claimed that he had never had anyone - ever - ask him to sign anything other than the one-pager he was trying to pass off as an agreement (which, given the level of neuroses in LA, I find hard to believe). In short, we ended up deciding not to give him our money, and went with de Bois instead, which not only has extremely talented bands, but is comprised of cordial, professional, and reasonable people, who had no problems agreeing to draw up a standard contract for us "if it would make us feel better." When planning a wedding, music and food are usually the two things that most couples agree CANNOT BE COMPROMISED. If you also agree- put yourself in the hands of one of the West Coast Music bands and don't give your entertainment another thought. All of the bands are recording artist quality (we had Encore at our wedding), and they play such a diverse range of music, not a single guest will feel excluded. Jim was so wonderful throughout the sales and planning experience--he is incredibly knowledgeable, and met with me to create an intricate timeline so that the music flowed seamlessly and the energy was maintained throughout the event! The band was even willing to memorize and play a few special requests, including our first dance song! Seriously guys, you can get a cheaper band, or you can invest in having perfection and treating your guests to a private concert of the greatest caliber!!! read more

These guys know how to party!! We hired JB Project as our band. It was the BEST dance party we've ever been to and people are still telling us months after the wedding how much fun they had on the dance floor! Their singers were so good! You could tell that they all work together a lot because they were so in sync. They let my husband and I come dance on the stage for a song, and let my husband hit the symbol at the end of the song. The James Gang Band was excellent. If you want a dance party, this is the band to hire. They kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. They were such great performers that it was impossible to stay in your seat, their energy was contagious. The band really set the ambience that we wanted at our wedding and we had so much fun the entire night. We provided West Coast with a song list of "do's and dont's" and unfortunately the band said they never received this list. Other than that, I would highly recommend this band. read more

Five stars is not enough for the Cowling Band! They were absolutely outstanding and knew exactly how to keep our party dancing! The band was terrific and kept everyone on the dance floor at my wedding but West Coast Music and Jim in general are HORRIBLE to work with. He's out to suck every penny out of brides that he can get. There was a charge for early set up, charge for late end time, charge for over time that wasn't even incurred. There are plenty of other bands in the LA area that have amazing talent and are certainly represented by a better agency. I recommend going elsewhere!!! read more

Our guests widely ranged in age, so we wanted to make sure that we played music that every generation would enjoy, and everyone had a blast! People who never dance were out on the dance floor all night, and the party was amazing from start to finish! We actually ended up extending their play time because everyone was having so much fun :) The band's incredible, fun energy and diverse playlist absolutely made the night and we would hire them again in a second - it worth every penny! read more

West Coast Music is a fantastic company to work with. My husband and I found them through our wedding planner and we spent an afternoon listening to each of their bands. We were impressed by the breadth of music they offered and decided to book. Jim, Janice and their team were incredibly attentive and very professional. They made sure every detail was taken care of and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. However, nothing could have prepared us for how PHENOMENAL the actual band was! After their very first song, we had multiple guest approaching to tell us this was the best band they had ever heard, and we had several harsh music critics in our group. Their variety in songs was impressive, the dance floor was packed all night long and each song sounded like the original. No matter if that was Pink or The Talking Heads. We cannot recommend this company and specifically The Cowling Band more than simply telling you this should be the first call you make when planning a wedding or any event. read more
