Trying to keep this brief for my own time. From January to March I was supposed to spend 160 a month on pool cleaning, but pool was still dirty. So they charged an additional 120 in February for extra chemicals because I had a difficult pool. But end of March pool had a lot of algae and looked like it wasn't even being brushed. They wanted another $360 in more chemicals. This would bring my YTD to $960, averaging $320 a month instead of the agreed $160 per month, but the big problem was pool was dirty! I'm not paying 320 a month to have a green pool. Maybe if the pool was clean and they came to me asking to adjust the rate that would work. But I can't keep paying extra fees to have a dirty pool. The pool was so bad my new pool service had to charge an extra fee to get the pool started. They couldn't believe I had an active pool service. La pool guys had in fact been there earlier that week. Oh I forgot they did a filter cleaning duirng this time which I requested because pool flow was getting low. After the filter clean, pool flow was still low and pressure was at 20. They told me that's normal. Had to pay another service to come out. They cleaned it and got pressure down to 10 and a good flow. They said it looked like no cleaning was done. So add that to the money wasted this year. Other problems: They skipped cleanings without letting me know (holidays, rainy day, etc.) Only when I noticed the pool was dirty and asked about it, they would confirm they skipped last week. I need to be told when skipping weeks so I can clean the pool myself or make alternative arrangements. Requested service for an equipment issue. Their tech came and went and said they fixed it, but checked it and nothing was done and the same problem existed. Had to call a different pool service for repair and wasted time

Ocean Pools came recommended by the owner of my weekly pool maintenance company. My original new…read morepool plaster was a shoddy job. Staining, pitting, falling off - it needed to be redone within the first year. Adan (one of the owners) convinced me that pebble was the right way to go vs the standard plaster we tried the first time. But pebble is very rough to the touch. My wife and kids did not like the feel of any of the pebble options. Adan then informed me that they can "polish" the pebble so it would be as smooth as standard plaster. He sent me samples and all. It felt pretty damn smooth for something that had stones in it. So we did it. The crew came out and handled their business. I was home to supervise, after all it's very hard to find good help these days. By the time they were done troweling the new pebble, I noticed that the walls were not straight. The steps and floor were not level. The step tiles were plastered over. The corners were super sloppy. Dips and bumps everywhere vs smooth, flat, straight surfaces. Needless to say, we were absolutely not happy! I asked them to correct the issues before it hardened too much. They said they couldn't and that it would be handled by the guys who were polishing everything the next day. Now I admit, I have very high standards. But when you pay a high premium for a better product, then you pay even more to have it polished smooth as glass, that's what you expect to get. Well my friends, this customer got nothing like that. Albert (the other owner) came out the next day and saw what we were dealing with. He agreed, it was not the best plaster job. Despite that, he had his crew give it their all. Two guys worked their butts off for two days trying to address the issues the plaster guys left for them. The tried to grind things flat. Tried polishing the surfaces smooth. It just didn't work. The pebble job was bad again. The pool got some extra polishing and was salvaged, but the spa was garbage. Albert and Adan were both kind, professional, and understanding gentlemen. They looked at the obvious issues of the spa and agreed that it would need to be redone - again! Three months went by to get it on the schedule and they just finished this week. SOOOOOO much better this time! This is the spa we should have had on the first redo. I felt bad about pulling the trigger on the second redo, but there was no way to save that shoddy work. They came in with a much better crew this time and handled it. Ocean Pools made things right! That is very hard to come by these days. If I had left a review three months ago, it would have been one or two stars. That's not good for a company that comes "highly recommended" by someone you know. But, since their customer service and follow-through was so good they now get a solid, well-written five-star review! As mentioned earlier, it's so hard to find good help these days. Well, Ocean Pools did what was right for us. I recommend them to you for your pool. They do new pool construction, replaster jobs, repair work, and even weekly service. Just make sure you communicate well exactly what you want and need. But that is something every customer should ALWAYS do. And if something needs to be made right, speak up. I did, and Adan and Albert were listening. They made my pool and spa exactly as we wanted it.
