We live on the third floor and although we only had one bulky items, we did not want to lift the cal king bed up those flight of stairs. It's like Koko head, but worse! We needed someone quickly as the U-pak company only let us know an hour in advance when they will be arriving. After we got the call, I had to make a few phone calls and came across Brothers. Emmit was quick to respond and able to send two guys within two hours on a Friday afternoon and it was unloaded in 45 minutes. They do require a 2 hour minimum which is standard for most companies. I contracted with Safeway Movers who sold the contract to FebEx. FebEx showed up on moving day…read moreincreasing the price by another $2000 and requiring me to eliminate most bulky items. They agreed to move the riding mower for an additional $150 telling me nothing could be stored on top of the mower. They put the items in storage in Dallas, TX for 35 days. I contacted FebEx to move the items into a storage unit near Palestine, TX. They charged another $500 for a "shuttle" stating their semi could not maneuver inside the storage area. They sent a smaller truck but still charged me for the shuttle. When the movers arrived some boxes were missing and the mower was damaged as if something had been dropped on it. They refused to provide a delivery invoice acknowledging the damage. When I filed a claim they said I needed the signed delivery invoice which FebEx has refused to provide. This is a very dishonest company and no one should trust them.
