Roger tracked down the issue and the dash is now clear. Kudos to Roger and James! I would NOT recommend the sales side of Maple Ridge Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram! While waiting to get the service done, we met Melina, who came to meet us outside and discuss a future need we have for a fleet of trucks. There were several sales guys huddled around a computer at the front desk and didn't acknowledge us. She is definitely the person we want to purchase from because of her personable and professional demeanour. THEN, a couple days later, we went to see Melina, to further discuss those trucks, Maple Ridge Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram fired her for "not being productive enough". I have a suggestion, fire the sales guys loitering about because they were not being productive either. We'll be visiting her at her new company and whomever gets her will be very fortunate! .

He has taken tremendous steps toward rectifying what happened. They are fixing the car at no cost to me and reimbursing me for the costs I incurred while stuck in Kamloops. I have also received a personal apology from the person mentioned below (I agreed to remove his name as a means to rectifying the situation) and feel that hey have gone above and beyond to fix a really bad situation. I encourage everyone to deal with Scott Jones if you can. I've changed my rating from 1 star to 3. ORIGINAL POST (redacted): [redacted] at West Coast Mazda spoke down to me and told me to "listen" when I tried to argue my case. Never ever go here. [redacted] claims it takes hundreds of thousands of deadly or potentially deadly incidents to get parts recalled. Only concerned with their bonuses, I'm sure. Went to [redacted] to deal with a catastrophic manufacture defect in a car they sold my husband and I. He tells me tough cookies. Your warranty is up. They say it's a used vehicle (we bought it at 2 years old) and despite the "certified pre-owned" stamp of approval (an up charge) they cannot guarantee the state of the cars reliability. All over a $400 fix. This wasn't a warranty issue. Absolutely no sympathy whatsoever that my husband and I could have gotten into a major accident. He tells me to call Mazda Canada. They won't even answer the phone. Says he would call 2 days ago. Still hasn't called. So much for customer service.

UPDATE (new outcome since my prior review): My 2019 Kia Soul EV has now finally been fixed -- by…read moreApplewood Kia, not West Coast Kia. Over a six-month period, West Coast Kia generated eight repair orders for the same vibration/humming concern and repeatedly told me the vehicle was "fixed" or "complete." During that time they replaced multiple major drivetrain components (traction motors and gear reduction units). I was still experiencing the same vibration after the final pickup on January 27, even though the work order stated everything was resolved. Because of that, I took the vehicle to Applewood Kia (out of pocket). Applewood diagnosed the real cause as a right front wheel bearing -- roughly a $400 repair -- and once replaced, the vibration/humming disappeared. Problem solved immediately. I also want to note that Service Advisor Isaac Grieve told me Kia had spent over $40,000 in parts during the West Coast Kia process. If that's accurate, it makes the outcome even more concerning given what ultimately fixed the vehicle. My biggest issue wasn't just the misdiagnosis -- it was the lack of documentation and transparency. I repeatedly asked that my continuing symptoms and correct mileage be accurately recorded on the repair paperwork, and that did not happen. Yes, I became frustrated after being sent away multiple times with the car still vibrating, but I did not threaten anyone -- I was simply trying to get an unresolved safety/driveability issue properly acknowledged and repaired. I strongly recommend Applewood Kia if you want accurate diagnosis and results. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend West Coast Kia.

I have to share an experience with you all. My son, bless his heart had a moment where his brain left his body. He had been told he needed to "top up the oil" on his 2022 Jetta GLI, instead of adding a quart, he added 6. Yes, he overfilled the oil. He realized his mistake immediately, once he turned on the vehicle. He did not drive it, as the check engine light came on and the vehicle had smoke coming from the exhaust. He was in the parking lot of Canadian Tire in Maple Ridge where he had bought the oil. He called seeking help, we advised him to get the car into a service bay there and have them drain the oil. This was done, the vehicle moved approximately 50 feet with too much oil in it. Canadian Tire advised him, its still smoking maybe let the oil burn off. The check engine light was still on, so we were concerned. Across Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge from the Canadian Tire is the Volkswagen dealership, we thought, best have a brand specific mechanic take a look at it. We took the vehicle, now overfill drained, fresh oil across the street to the dealership. This was Tuesday August 5th. Left the vehicle at the dealership as service was closed for the day. The next day, no help, was told we didn't have an appointment so not a priority, understood. They said the service light was not flashing so if we needed the vehicle we could take it as it was ok to drive. The day after that, Thursday, in the afternoon they start to look at vehicle. There was no further update on Thursday. Friday morning no call or update, I call and leave a message and send an email. Then at 1pm Friday I receive a text message with recommending additional service. The recommendation was "Cylinder Block Assembly - Engine - Connecting Rod: disassemble engine to inspect. - QUOTE - $23,237.87. The check engine was not flashing, the dealership told us it was safe to drive, but then quotes $20K+ for repairs? I wanted a second opinion, so on Monday August 11, I went to Maple Ridge Volkswagen, paid in full for the diagnostic work and advised I would have a tow truck come to pick up the vehicle the next morning. I confirmed the name of the towing company and was told by the team at the service counter, no problem. I contacted a mechanic who we have used in the past, he made the arrangements for a tow company come to pick up the vehicle and bring it to him. On Tuesday when the tow truck tried to retrieve the vehicle, the VW dealership would not release the car stating it was not paid for. This was not the case. The tow truck driver wasted over an hour of time arguing with the VW dealer to get the vehicle released until a staff member finally said oh yeah that is paid its good to go. We were charged extra for the wait time. The Jetta was taken to our mechanic who inspected it, cleaned the airbox, PCU, intercooler/intake tubes, replaced filters, reset service and check engine light. Advised that he could not find any damage, yes there was some oil overrun, but it was now cleaned and flushed out. He believes that a couple of good drives and the little remaining smoke will clear. Total cost, which included a $160 tow from our mechanic $946.40. Wednesday my son drives this vehicle to work, approximately 20km, no issues, no smoke no lights no problem. Now two months later of daily driving an no issues, no leaks, no lights or concerns. I have to ask, why would Maple Ridge Volkswagen quote repairs at such an excessively high amount? Where they just trying to take advantage of someone in a bad situation? What was the intention here? After contacting the dealership (General and Service Managers) and VW Canada the Service manager reached out to me. His explanation was that they were busy and this was simply a lack of communication. I am not sure how what we went through could be considered simply a lack of communication? To me they either were hoping I would blindly accept the $20K quote or say scrap the car we cant afford that and then clean it up and sell it on their lot. I don't know I am just assuming. Maple Ridge Volkswagen did refund me the $207 for diagnostics that they charged, since they "wasted my time". I do think they should have also covered the cost of the tow to the shop, if Maple Ridge VW had actually inspected and fixed the vehicle the tow would not have been necessary. Only because of Maple Ridge VW trying to rip us off that we had to go to another mechanic. I wanted to share this, many have heard mechanics will rip you off - some will, others will not. Get a second opinion. I will recommend Precise Automotive on King George in Surrey to any and everyone - Andrew - thank you for helping us out and not taking advantage of us. And most of all stay away from Maple Ridge Volkswagen if you don't want to be screwed over!

Was charged over $400 and told by the shop manager, the seat needed a new element (cost crazy $'s) and the AC compressor was failed and $1800 to replace, said they checked everything on the AC and it must be the compressor. So this spring, I found a local shop (in Coquitlam) to look at the AC, they checked the AC coolant and found it to be 66% down in coolant. They topped it up, put in a dye to check for leaks, charged me just under $400 for the work and the AC have been blowing so cold I have to turn it down!!! I will never use this dealership for service and even think of buying any car from them!!! I will let you who read this, decide what you think is going on at this dealership.

But after a solid month I was so tired of the high pressure sales, I was seriously thinking of just using transit. But Then I came across Cypress. They're a bit hidden on a one way street past Canadian tire. First off they had a car that I was definitely interested in, but they were super laid back and didn't use any of the usual high pressure sales tactics. I actually went back 3 times before making my decision. Each time Zabi and Aaron were both excellent. Offered me the keys to take out the car each time I went back. They had the car proof reports, a complete inspection already done and the car was clean and detailed. I made the leap about a week ago and couldn't be happier with my choice. I've been enjoying my new ride. I noticed the second set of keys weren't working properly and another little issue with the passenger door not locking. They made me an appt to bring it in on Saturday and have the issue fixed. I couldn't be happier that I chose Cypress to do my business. I love supporting our local businesses and I'd highly recommend that before you make a decision on your next car/truck that you stop by and see them. Don't forget to tell them that I sent you!
