The response I received from Jennifer was dismissive and argumentative, including comments about her years of experience and questioning what my insurance representative told me rather than addressing my concern. On the day of my appointment, my car broke down. I notified the office ahead of time and communicated with a scheduler through text to reschedule. I never received a response. After several weeks, I called and requested to speak with an office manager because I felt the communication issues needed to be addressed. As someone who also manages a medical office, I understand the importance of receiving patient feedback and resolving concerns professionally. Unfortunately, my conversation with Jennifer was extremely disappointing. Rather than listening to my concerns, she became defensive, interrupted me repeatedly, raised her voice, and placed me on hold while I was trying to explain the issue. My concern was never that the staff was rude -- it was that communication was inconsistent and responses were not timely. When I tried to explain this, I was told that I was "on the phone with her now" and that she could either help me or I could "find another place." That response was unprofessional and did not reflect a patient-centered approach. I hope the dentist reviews how patient concerns are handled and provides additional training on communication, professionalism, and conflict resolution. There are many dental offices that value their patients' time and feedback, and unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to look elsewhere.

I saw lots of smiling faces greeting me on my 1st day. From Rian helping me schedule the appointment to Henry as my dental hygienist, and alas Dr Alex Lee, I can't imagine going anywhere else. This modern office with new equipment, clean bathrooms and staff who always have a smile is exactly what I needed. I even went back two days later to get a few old silver fillings replaced. They also have the latest technology and are able to make crowns onsite which means you can get it done all in a few hours. Be very cautious - all about money, not the patient…read more I visited Mason Dental for a new patient exam after calling ahead and confirming that my insurance will most likely be covered. I was told that insurance would be verified and that they would submit everything for a coverage estimate prior to treatment. After my exam and X-rays, I was informed that I had periodontal disease and would need scaling and root planing. I was also told I had approximately nine cavities and was strongly encouraged to proceed with laser treatment that was not covered by insurance. At no point did I feel I was given clear, conservative options or a breakdown of urgency versus elective procedures. The initial visit resulted in a $200 charge, and I was quoted approximately $800 for the recommended deep cleaning. Because the diagnosis felt significant, I sought a second opinion as I've never had periodontal issues and receive regular cleanings (I worked in the dental industry for years). At another dental office, I was told that I do not have periodontal disease and do not need scaling and root planning cleanings. Their review of my X-rays showed no signs supporting that diagnosis, aside from two isolated pockets near areas where my wisdom teeth had previously been extracted. Then was informed I have two areas on my molars that needed very small fillings on the occlusal areas. They were shocked my Mason Dentals treatment plan! Based on this second opinion, I'm concerned about the difference in diagnoses and the treatment plan I was given. I would recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with Mason Dental.

I had been fitted with a temporary "flipper" for four months while the bone healed, but it had become uncomfortable to eat with, so as I was in Texas, I made an appointment with Dr. Crumpton to have it adjusted. On the way there, I took a phone call, the flipper became loose so I set it on my car dashboard, and--disaster!--it took a joy ride down into the air vent, never to be seen again without dismantling the whole dashboard of my car. Dr. Crumpton's staff were wonderfully kind and patient, his dental assistant even coming outside to help me look for it. Even though this implant procedure was not being done by them, Dr. Crumpton immediately stepped in to help. Knowing I was leaving for London the following week and couldn't possibly go with a front tooth missing, he arranged to get me fitted the very next day, at a very reasonable price, and without ever making me feel foolish for what had happened. Thanks to their professionalism, kindness, and generosity, my new temporary tooth will be ready next week--just in time for my flight. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Crumpton and his team--they are not only highly professional but also compassionate and caring and did not try to gauge me on the price.

Dr. Dunson has been my dentist for almost 20 years. After receiving that, a coworker recommended Southridge Dental & Dr. Dunson, and I have been a patient there ever since. I did not disclose that another dentist had recommended all that work at my first visit, and Dr. Dunson did not assign me a laundry list of procedures, which was my first sign he was an ethical practitioner. He takes a conservative approach to dental work, opting to keep an eye on potential issues rather than immediately resorting to fillings or root canals. Now, I have recommended them to countless folks. My husband sees them too. Andrea and Lisa are the two hygienists/dental assistants I see the most at my cleanings, and they are both amazing. They have been there a long time (Andrea, since I've been a patient; I still remember these bedazzled safety glasses she used to wear many years back!) Rounding out the team are Carol and Shannon in the office. Carol greets you at the front desk, schedules your appointments, and always calls the day before your appointment with a friendly check-in. Shannon handles the billing, and she explains everything very clearly. Their office is run very efficiently. I am rarely waiting in the lobby long enough to even sit down! After the hygienist or assistant finishes your cleaning and any x-rays, Dr. Dunson is there within a minute or two to check everything out and give you an overview of any potential issues he's noticing. (He hums along to the music while he's working, which is always entertaining! I can relate, I do this too.) I haven't needed much dental work, but in the event of a necessary filling, Dr. Dunson handles the procedure kindly and compassionately. I don't love getting a shot of Novocain (who does??), but he and the staff are always so understanding and encouraging through the process. I cannot recommend Southridge Dental enough. They are an independent operation, which I prefer over the influx of corporately owned dental offices flooding the area. They are kind folks who genuinely care about the health of your teeth and giving excellent care.
